  1. Nothing. It’s all gone very quiet, which concerns me.
  2. They did. A vote was required at the Lowland AGM to change the rules in order to allow this. Safe to say it didn’t pass after what transpired. Dead in the water now with the incoming Midland League at Tier 6 underneath the HL anyway.
  3. How to win friends and influence people? Propose reconstruction with the OF Colts again. That’ll work. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/brechin-city-plead-spfl-scrap-23947986
  4. This gets better. Brechin’s reconstruction plan involves the OF Colts - yep, that popular concept. You genuinely couldn’t write this! https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/brechin-city-plead-spfl-scrap-23947986
  5. Regardless of any opinions on the situation, we cannot trust the SPFL to pass reconstruction proposals. Last summer proved that. Its time for Brechin to accept that they are where they are on merit. Their escape routes are closing off fast, while any goodwill is being lost (even amongst their own fanbase).
  6. Hello - Mozza here I heard from a contact in the West, so Marten's info is probably better to take heed of given it seems to be "closer" to things playing out. Good news all the same!
  7. Weren't these rules set at the start of the season supposed to cover these extreme circumstances? This article will help clarify the situation, I suspect. George Fraser reveals the crucial factors behind declaring Kelty champions (Daily Record)
  8. I assume @Tutankhamen is referring to this page on the website: https://www.bscglasgow.co.uk/youth/bsc-youth/ ...also - side point. Being called a "pointless" club by someone who's side isn't playing this year is all sorts of glass houses and stones material. Believe it or not, we're all in our own irrelevancy together in non-league.
  9. Imagine listening to that and thinking we “targeted” a ref. As always on the podcast, we’ll talk about our personal views which do not reflect those of any clubs - that’s why we aren’t boring. Having said that, I’m still scratching my head at how gogsy reached that viewpoint.
  10. There are two ways to look at this. We've got a tremendous base with strength in nets, at the back and an ever-improving midfield. Assuming big Paolo returns, we only need a couple of strikers with pace. We get the recruitment right and there's no reason why we can't challenge again - at worst, I still expect us to be a capable top half side. I've got faith in Swifty and his contacts tbh! He brought in Collins under the noses of many and look how well that turned out.
  11. Enjoyed that! Good to see more podcasts covering the lower levels with care and quality.
  12. Thomas Collins just went to East Fife from us and will make an impact at that level. Other than him? Jamie McCormack and Tam Orr could do well IMO.
  13. Just to add a wee bit of clarity here... Even if UEFA don't change the 3pm rule (as I'd expect they will), the Lowland could easily schedule behind closed doors games for 12:30pm kick offs as an example. There are all sorts of possibilities. As far as football returning, we'll need to wait for the government to lead ultimately. As soon as they indicate to the SFA that training can resume, we'll hopefully be able to get a structured plan in place for the return of games. Can't come back soon enough from a selfish point of view!
  14. Just happy to see I’ve now gained myself a job as a media officer tbh. Wish they’d told me though!
  15. This is the impression that I got speaking to him. Seems to be the most common sense solution.
  16. I’m sure you’d be made to feel more than welcome if visiting!
  17. Those “wee boys” are part of the wider BSC youth academy, so they are as much a part of the club as the lads that took the field. Imagine them supporting their team, eh? Scandalous.
  18. Sharing this in here as we delved into the West of Scotland League, with particular reference to what George knew and when from the SFA. Might well be of interest!
  19. If you've been paying attention, the Highland & Lowland Leagues have been banging this drum constantly over the last couple of years. Automatic relegation from League 2 is the stated aim. I suspect we'll see further developments on this next week.
  20. To the couple of posters that asked why the Lowland League hadn't mentioned any pressure from the SPFL/SFA until now - the story broke back in March on our Official Catchup podcast and got some low-level media coverage (the press aren't too bothered with Tier 5 news naturally). Brechin didn't advocate a change in the rules when Montrose could have been relegated to the Highland. Why should they have been treated differently to go into the Lowland if losing the playoff? A clear case of their chairman "making the most" of his board position.
  21. Bo'ness are going up, all being well on the club license front. Not sure if Livi will slot in or not given they publicly announced their rejection...
  22. That's what I expect to happen, based on recent events. The hold up is Bo'ness getting their license rubber-stamped by the SFA - confirmation should follow soon after.
  23. This. The understanding that I have is that nothing can be "forced through", member clubs will have their say regardless of the proposed structure(s) brought forward.
