Double Winning St Johnstone FC Thread
The Real Saints replied to Kyle's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
I actually prefer Kimpioka to Sidibeh. He seems a better all-round footballer with at least a similar level of finishing ability. Sidibeh has that raw chaos factor with a great story surrounding him. I like him, but I wouldn’t say he’s at the same level yet. -

I see there’s a Radford v Steve Bright battle ensuing on X (formerly Twitter). I don’t know about anyone else, but this is a match-up I’ve been yearning for since the day I emerged from the womb. -

I’d fancy County to finish 10th now. I think the key difference will be in those matches against teams like Hibs and Motherwell who have less at stake. You can bet your life that County will be fighting for maximum points in those games. On the other hand, when we’re playing against those same teams, I imagine that a neutral wouldn’t be able to work out who is fighting for survival. -
Ross County v Rangers

Actually, having just witnessed sheer devastation in the eyes of Rangers fans and players alike, I take everything back. Grim reaper, take me. Lead me down to the Championship. -

It’s easy to forget that teams like Rangers can be challenged by bottom-half clubs when you’re watching such gutless football on a weekly basis. -
Ross County v Rangers

For once in their sorry existence, could Rangers give me a result when I actually want them to win? What a detestable club and a terrible team of footballers. -
I’m hearing reports of a Hibsing. Are my sources accurate?

And the fact that a player of his fairly mediocre ability is turning down a contract at St Johnstone is a damning indictment of this club right now. Long-gone is the Tommy Wright era when we'd manage to extend the contacts of much better players against all odds. -
Celtic v St. Johnstone

I would have thought that Kimpioka was a no-brainer to start up front against Celtic, so I must say I’m slightly surprised by the Sidibeh choice. -
St Johnstone v Livingston - 02/03/24

A very poor performance, but ultimately the result has ensured that there's barely a 1% chance of Livingston catching us, whilst it has also put us one point further ahead of Ross County and elevated us above Aberdeen in the league table. -

Enough of this 'four at the back' nonsense. -
The Famous Aberdeen - Season 2022/23

For me, Warnock’s biggest red flag is the way that he talks about the club. Aberdeen are obviously not a diddy team in comparison with the other Scottish Premiership sides, but you’d probably think they were if you had no prior knowledge of football and were listening to one of his interviews. He talks as if the issue is a lack of quality within the squad. It isn’t, at least in the context of our top league’s general standard. Aberdeen have been significantly underperforming with what’s available to them. -

Ah, you should have started off by saying that. -

I presume he let the long kick come all the way into his box because he has 100% confidence in his shot-stopping abilities, as he should. -

A goal was the only thing that Kimpioka's performance had been missing. A top top display from him. -

Because he dropped a cross? Otherwise a typically excellent performance from the best keeper in Scotland. -

Is this Jaiyesimi's second game in his favoured position? Either way, this is the second time that Jaiyesimi has looked decent. Football can be quite a simple game sometimes. -

Aberdeen are quite an anxious wee bunch, aren't they? I'm getting a 'dogs on Fireworks Night' kind of vibe from them.
