Strange. They seemed to be getting a bit more humble before the meeting, then also after it. The back page referenced would get anyone's backs up considering the recent history.

Makes a farce of what the SFL clubs are being asked to vote on if the SPL clubs aren't agreed on what SPL / SFL league reconstruction, if any, should look like.

I'm a bit confused on something and hope someone can help me out: Apart from the vote from the SPL clubs on whether to admit the Newco to the SPL, would the SPL clubs not have another vote on whether to accept the reconstruction that would go along with this Newco in Division 1 mechanism? Or have the SPL chairmen already decided to accept any such reconstruction, pushing the vote on the SFL chairmen, and allowing the SPL to say they will breakaway and form SPL2 etc. (which I assume would have the SPL chairmen's backing as well)?

Actually, it should never have been any SFL chairmen's decision on this matter. None of those clubs created this mess and there are associations with their rules and people in charge to handle all of this. But here we are because of passing the buck and a bit of underhand shenanigans. The question of whether there should be a First Division with a Newco, with some cobbled together reconstruction that hasn't been thought out fully, for the best for Scottish football mind, is a mechanism that has been created to get some out of a hole. The only question that ever should have been to the SFL chairmen is if they wanted to accept a Newco into Division 3.

The Self-Preservation League has reverted to type. The only one that didn't see this coming in the Daily Record was David Wells.

And once the SFL gets its grubby paws on the £1m where are they going to distribute that to, if at all? If the SFL clubs do get a benefit from that money will they all get an even share?
