The Ultimate Super Ayr Thread
RedEd replied to D'Jaffo's topic in Scottish Championship General Chatter
My understanding is that Ayr didn't "demand" all that much. It's just that Dundee tried to be incredibly tight. Their role seems to have been overlooked somewhat -
Bozo's statement here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-65863336 If you don't want to read, basically he blames everyone himself. Sound familiar? If on!y Gitta Sereny was still around she could've written Boris Johnson: His Battle with Truth.

The Privileges Committee is meeting on Monday to wrap up the inquiry and have said they will publish the report promptly.

I'm glad I've led a sheltered life. All I saw was a pitch resembling Stamford Bridge or the Baseball Ground in the 70s. -
Probably a number of different reasons e.g. Perth being known as St John's Town, hence St Johnstone. With other clubs I suspect some of them were originally connected with churches, youth clubs and schools.

I'm not sure a recount would give them the seat even if they did get enough transfers. Legally binding documents have been signed, both by the returning officer and the successful SDLP candidate. I think the only option for the court would be to declare the result void, resulting a by-election. Going by the result from last month Sinn Fein would walk it. The result for the Winchester constituency at the 1997 General Election was successfully challenged in court, which declared it void. The by-election resulted in the Lib Dems increasing their majority from 2 to 21,500.

I dont. The terracing on the far side is in poor condition, and to go back to my previous comment, it has no seats apart from two or three park benches. Might not be against the rules, but it is a low standard. -

Haw. My grandpa did a nifty little turn with Bomber Command. Even got to drop bombs on some of the lovely German cities I've since visited. I didn't mention it. -

Not quite, but curious to delve a little deeper into the units involved. -

Sorry, can't answer.. Too busy looking at the Luftwaffe's order of battle for the Battle of Britain (I'm already well aware of the RAF's). -

No it wasn't. A kampfgeschwader was bomber wing. Fighter staffeln were organised into jagdgeschwader. -

We're second seeds. Isn't it the case that the second seed is always away to the first seed? Seems to have been where we are concerned. -

Shame he wasn't introduced to David Smith in Johnny Foxes. Although even he probably couldn't convince Scarfie boy that Todorov was at Somerset one summer Saturday in 2021. -

Paul Shepherd. Neither of our two Paul Smith's have been as naughty as him. -
It was definitely Dundee. Just for the record, he lost.

I suspect they are required for SPFL teams in an SPFL competition. We'll play at another SPFL ground. Don't worry, it won't be THAT one. -
Don't know if you've counted them, but Ayr are consulting season ticket holders just now. I'll respond at my leisure over the weekend. A bit fat NO, obviously.

Nope. No seats at Townhead since the very early 80s when they demolished the stand (I'm not counting the two or three benches installed). P!us, some of the terracing slabs are more than just a bit loose. -

We scored 61 league goals, or which Dipo scored 20. I'd say his team mates contributed well. -

Think we lost 4-1 that day. Was never keen on him, even when he played for Scotland. -

Archibald only played one game for us. Same with Rough (who was our goalie coach), although he played a decent number of reserve games that season. -
