Seriously though, I was not expecting any announcements until the players returned for pre-season. Which should - in normal times - be next week. In any case, I hope we have a raft of announcements lined up for next week, rather that the silence is masking something more worrying.

The very fact we feel this is a very real possibility should be a concern to all.

There will be a few characters being released this week by several Premier clubs, along with some promising fringe players that didn't quite make it this season. That may be the pond in which we should be fishing this close season.

I cannot imagine many - if any - signing announcements until all Play-off games are completed. And even then, there will be plenty of players on holiday. As for next season - consolidation is key - after all the excitement of the last 12 months or so, a mid-table Raith Rovers style finish would be good for my heart!

I would tend to agree with your take on this. And would side with the club if that is this case; long term sustainability of the club over anyone's short term ambition, would be my instinct. Similar to the situation we had when mckinnon won L2.

The 4-1 win away at Hamilton was a fantastic all-around enjoyable day out.

I find it easy to agree with almost all of the comments and observations made above. The primary focus for me now, is to hear a definitive statement that Lesser will be the venue for our team next year; then we can truly commence building a local community-based club.

Remember the days we endured, what seemed like an endless sequence, of 1-1 draws? What a contrast this season has been.

Whenever you move from one state of being to another, there is always the period in-between - the messy middle - from what we were to what we want to be. The players that got us here, may not necessarily be the ones to get us there. And am sure this season is the end of year three.

There is always the possibility, that the length of a contract is due to the insistence of the player's agent.

With regards to siginings; am sure there are few Dundee players out of contract, not all will be resigned for the Premiership; leading to the possibility of a bargain lurking among the Championship winning squad.

The average age of the squad. Lack of Championship level experience this year. Recruitment policy. The level of coaching behind the scenes. The long-term view of the club.

Really - you have not been paying attention, have you?

Yes, there were mistakes all over the place, however, that is what happens when you go all out for the win. And to be fair to Dundee, they could have sat in, kept it tight, and picked us off on the counter, but they went for it too. And it made for a crazy first half. Not the game to be too critical of players for individual errors; the same players who took us to this level in the first place. Our squad will improve and be better for next season; until then we have the play-offs to enjoy (if that is the right word) this week.

I would agree. However, I would be interested to see whether a full pre-season session had a positive impact as it did with Simon Murray this season.

The size and make up of the 1st team and Young QP was always an intentional strategy. I don't think any us realistically expected such a good start to life at this level. We will be all the stronger next season for it though.

Uncertain satus? Is there something I have missed here or is it the usual end of season worry if they will be kept on for next season? If the later, then we are no different to every other club. I am certain our dip in form is due to everyone saying we had already won the league and the players focus being taken off the game in front of them. Hopefully the win last week aids a return to form and three straight wins.
