Arbroath v Queens Park
CathcartSkins replied to 1320Lichtie's topic in Scottish Championship General Chatter
It is becoming harder each week to predict an outcome with any certainty; only three games in game and we've had the full range of emotions. Am sure we will create a few good opportunities and allow Arbroath a wee shot at having a go too; it will all come down to who takes their chances. -
QP vs Patrick Thistle - Saturday 13 August

An enjoyable afternoon; especially after the agony of the collapse the previous week. Some fine performances all over the park. My slow walk back to the station was brutal under that early evening sun, so for the players of both teams to put on an entertaining game and maintain a high tempo throughout in that heat must be commended.- 120 replies

Queens Park v Ayr United

Game Day! There is much, well-founded, excitement around this team at present. We should get back to our free-scoring ways this evening. 3-0 for the Queen's. -

Let us hope this is the start of getting relations with the existing support on a better footing. And the with the informal meetings taking place this week, at Lesser, am beginning to feel hopeful that good news about moving back to the Southside is not too far behind. Only then can we seriously tackle the important task of growing the fanbase. -

You're in luck; it's an evening game. -

You're not alone with that sentiment. -
That was very pleasing; I don't believe there will too many 1-1 draws going forward based upon the way in which we set out our stall yesterday. Should be an exciting rollercoaster of a season.

For the sake of your mental health, stop. Looking at other stadium builds for comparisons is depressing. I've even stopped walking by Lesser - seeing little progress is saddening. Especially when there is so much positivity on the park following the recent performances, of all the teams. -

This could all be resolved so easily - by getting Lesser completed. Some honest communication on that subject is all I ask. -

I for one would be up for this; is this something we could arrange via the Supporters Assoc? And not just for one kid; a few ST for the local primary schools for them to distribute each week as they see fit. -

We should bring next week's KO forward to 2:00pm allowing folk to get a train home. -
An enjoyable night of football; when we pass the ball to feet quickly, we create chances and score goals. It has been sometime since we last scored more than three in consecutive matches. Ony two points of concern; too often we allow the opposition to get their crosses into our box and can we please learn what to do with our throw-ins.

My first instinct was that the away kit was bland, considering the good reds tops we have had down the years. However, watching the teams run out Saturday. changed my mind, I like it. -

We should be; although am sure St Mirren thought the same ahead of the weekend. -
Clinical finishing with sloppy defending at times. If we continue in that vein, we will move on from being the 1-1 draw specialists of last season to every game ending 4-4 this time around. It promises to be a fun season, that's for sure.

Home top looks good, away top is rather bland. I was more interested in the line...."set to return to their newly redeveloped home at Lesser Hampden later this season." as opposed to later this year. -

A decent, consistent player for us last season along with being a good caption. I questioned whether he would have lasted the season in the Championship with us; since we dispensed with his services am sure he now has the necessary fire in his belly to do just that. -
Based on last season, there being many draws, only one team achieving a win-rate of greater than 50%, and few goals scored; it is Dundee's league to lose, with both the Thistles being their strongest challengers Very tight thereafter. 1. Dundee 2. Inverness Caledonian Thistle 3. Partick Thistle 4. Arbroath 5. Queens Park 6. Cove Rangers 7. Raith Rovers 8. Morton 9. Ayr United 10. Hamilton

That looked even better when watching the highlights; played at a higher tempo than I was expecting for a pre-season game; Some of the Utrecht's passing was very slick and our four goals all taken very well. I was already looking forward to the season ahead, that has just put it up a notch or two. -

Perhaps our new Macron home kit clashed with the Lokomotiva top. Or are we just bringing home their kit? -

Despite the obvious positives about his time at Queen's, my East Coast scouting network delighted in bringing that line to my attention: “Queen’s Park is a massive club, I don’t think people realise how big. I think they are hoping Lesser Hampden will be ready later this year or next year.
