  1. Every game is a must win, for supporters.

Managers likely to accept a draw if all square going into the last 10 minutes.

We should be full of confidence going into this one, defensively stronger, creating chances and with more depth on the bench since we won in Kirkcaldy, in what was CD's first game in charge.

    2-0 win for QP.

Five home games left, Thistle, Rovers, Utd, ICT and Airdrie, with visits to Ayr and Morton, both bogey grounds for us.

Confident of six points away at Arbroath and Dunfermline, whilst the Airdrie game is a bolt on draw.  League turning into one of two mini-leagues, Promotion and Play-Off spots for the current top four, (maybe if I squint a bit add Airdrie in there too) and the remaining five all getting rather tight (if Arbroath retain their form).  ICT up until last week seemed to be stagnating after the Fergie bounce.

How are we all feeling about the run-in?

We will embark on a mad winning streak, finishing 4th (on goal difference) with a last day thumping win over Airdrie.

High on momentum, we fly through the play-offs becoming the first 4th place team to win promotion to the big league!

The accounts to June 2023 have just been published. Some highlights:

Turnover up to £5.8m, PY £1.4m. What’s going on there? (Turnover of say Killie is £6.4m.)

Loss of £758k. PY £1.084m. So £1.8m loss reported over a 30-month period.

Naming rights for Lesser Hampden have been sold until 2048.

    Unqualified audit report provided.

Fixed Assets up to £12.5m following another £8.5m capital expenditure (spend to complete Lesser Hampden being most of that). Overall total spent on buildings now up to £13.2m, which clearly doesn’t buy you that much these days!

Cash burn for year was £635k. Down to £577k left in bank.

Still due to collect another £1.25m from SFA for sale of Hampden.

Deferred income up to £9.3m, was £1.5m. A “capital accrual” has been created for £7.9m which you would presume was money due to a mystery benefactor to build the stadium for the club, perhaps to be gifted back to the club?

“Very generous support of one of our stakeholders” referenced in going concern note. No material uncertainties.

Staff costs up from £1.5m to £4.1m. Directors received £21k. Key management personnel received £211k. Average salary per employee up from £21k to £46k.

Lease commitment of £129k disclosed which looks like a £25k pa lease of something through to 2028.

Very interesting reading! Would like to know more about this massive Turnover jump and also the mysterious Capital Accrual.

Also would like to know why Lesser Hampden wasn’t impaired since it sits empty most weeks and the business is trading at a loss with cash outflows. Classic impairment indicators to me.

Would also like to know why there were no related party transactions reported.

Anyway, that’s from a five minute skim through these, best get back to work!

Appreciate your efforts and time spent on this; however those that attended the AGM commented on the very points you have raised, a few pages back.

Are you having a fucking laugh?

...and the refereeing performance made no difference to the result whatsoever,

Aye, it did. If the ref had stood up to the playground thuggery antics in the same manner the QP players courageously did, then there may have been the chance of some football breaking out.

As it stands, am happier to be watching our players under CD each week than ever having to endure Doug's dugs!

We must be the only football club (or perhaps even organisation) in the country that can release such an important statement which actually confuses everyone more than they already were. Unbelievable.

I can only hope and pray that those that matter right now - the players - have clarity and peace of mind to be able to focus to get themselves out of the relegation places.

It's a fair point and given the run of results since Arbroath, RV is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't; that said.....

The evidence as far as I can see is beginning to stack up; have said it before and will say it again, he's relatively inexperienced too and perhaps the sum total of a relatively inexperienced manager, (rather than coach) and a young, mainly inexperienced squad, is in reality, exactly equal to one point per game and an inability to defend effectively and score appropriately.

The substitutions last weekend are just the latest in what I think has been a list of questionable decisions by RV since the start of the season, not limited to:

    1.  Late, questionable substitutions in winning positions vs Raith on two occasions;

    2. Despite evidence pre-season that Reid was up to the job, (and potentially a better option that Tizzard/Fox), it's taken over a quarter of the season to give him a start;

    3.  The constant tinkering of the CB pairings and for that matter the RB position

    4. The very public lack of confidence in his CB options, leading to Thomson being played there out of position thus weakening midfield.  It could also be argued that Thomsons uncertainty in that position was partly responsible for the defeat at home to Dunfermline, (where RV blamed his defence for being too aggressive)

    5.  Despite evidence that the left side was working vs Arbroath, the chopping and changing of the left side, with Robson then, not a guaranteed starter and Dom Thomas being constantly moved about the pitch.

    6.  As mentioned previously the very public admonishing of Tizzard vs Airdie.  Full disclosure, I wasn't at that game, (watched it on TV) and whilst Tizzard was having a shocker up to the goal, I'm wondering exactly how much coaching/direction RV was giving prior to the goal/substitution, as from what I've seen so far, other than a bottle being hoofed vs Dunfermline, RV remains rather too passive on the touchline for someone who's supposed to be developing young players.

    7. For someone who has been pro-active in making substitutions, RV's inability to understand how deep into the red-zone Longridge was and how immobile Bannon was at the last Thistle game was for me, a huge concern, especially as, at the time, Thistle were in the ascendancy.

He seems like a decent bloke and I don't want to see anyone lose their job.  To give him his credit (and has already been mentioned), he at least, is fronting up whilst Beujker, Dempster & Haughey are MIA, any of whom could easily ease the pressure on him by stating exactly what the plan is; i.e. if development is the sole goal and if they feel this development won't be harmed by a dip into L1, then say so; if not and if the project is reliant upon maintaining the position in the Championship then they surely have to back RV in January.

It's becoming clearer that the squad is maybe just a bit too young, a bit too inexperienced.  Unfortunately wedded to that it seems the senior leaders have maybe somewhat lost their effectiveness; RV obviously sees Ferrie as 2nd choice, Robson, (other than v Arbroath) has been way off it since his mate left for Dingwall, Fox can barely get a game (arguably third/fourth choice CB despite being 2nd choice forward) and whilst he provides a ton of effort and sound leadership I doubt whether Longridge would be a starter for most other teams in the League.  We also can't expect Dom Thomas to be doing everything either.

A lot to agree with; i would however put forward a defence for the tinkering at CB, which can in part be put down to two red cards.

    Subsequent suspensions leads to tinkering.

How much longer will this be allowed to carry on? If our project is to sell on younger guys with potential, we’re not going to be attracting guys from a level of Southampton and Brighton to play in League 1. I can’t see those like Dom or Thomson staying with us at that level either.

We haven’t won a game since Bala (who themselves looked no better than Elgin in the League Cup). If the guys haven’t what Veldman passes as ‘tactics’ by now, they aren’t going to. He’s well out his depth, and the longer he stays the more danger it puts the club in.

    Get him punted now.

Have some faith and watch what is actually happening on the pitch. We will be nowhere near League 1 with this squad of players.

We have an increasing number of players with first team minutes and with Savoury and McKinstry still to contribute.

We will finish this season strongly, something we have not managed in recent seasons.

Absolutely delighted with Lewis Reid’s performance tonight. Thought he handled pretty much everything thrown his way well. Mindful that he is going to make mistakes but I wouldn’t be looking to drop him anytime soon if his performances stay the same.
Thought we controlled the game today, i think Paton missed a hattrick of chances which was a shame as any other day he’d take them.

Hard to feel positive about dropping two points but Dom’s comments about Veldman after the game i feel should be heeded by some of the support.

    Agreed.

This young squad - whilst acknowledging a month of poor performances - have shown resilience and fortitude in recent weeks.

Am encouraged by their attitude and do not doubt that they are up for the challenges ahead.

Also, whilst I have questioned past substitutions, Robin continues to trust the Young team, not many managers in similar situations would do so.

I think we need to sort out the men's team before we tackle any professional status for the women's team. It's a tad challenging at the moment, and that's without considering the potential loss of Beuker. Let's not forget, we're running a fully professional first team squad and a massive youth set up via one man's philanthropy on a home support of about 700.

Unless someone comes in with a big wad of cash to fund the women's team and that allows us to support them adequately to compete with, at least, the semi-professional sides, I can't see us going down that road. I'm not being all "yer da" here, I'm just trying to be realistic. It would be absolutely terrific if we could try to emulate what we're doing with the men's side, and this would complement that setup beautifully, but we would need another Willie Haughey to do that.

If the women's team played at Lesser, am sure plenty folk would turn up to support and this would generate income.

And would playing at our own ground cost less than paying to play at someone else's ground,?
