  1. Perhaps because they are so important they should just be able to cherrypick any player they like from Scottish clubs and not have to pay. Hold on, that sounds familiar... And yes folks, I did reply to the wrong post earlier. Because I'm a thicko.
  2. You may well be right, but I will certainly take time to visit the SFL clubs that have show more spine than the whole of the SPL. Even if it just turns out to be a fond farewell before I abandon the game here altogether.
  3. I'm feeling much the same. I even reckon SFL clubs could see a fairly hefty rise in attendances next season as fans avoid SPL clubs.
  4. Bizzare thought on a bizzare day... Could we find ourselvers in the position where the SPL club with the biggest drop in their own supporters is the biggest sign of sporting integrity among fans?
  5. So, The Donkey says its either the SPL or SFL1 for the zombies or we have financial armagedon. So the SPL chairmen should vote to make a serious loss to their customer base. So the SPL sponsors will be supporting a corrupt league with a rapidly diminishing customer base and no credibility. For a club that will leave for pastures new at the first chance it gets. It seems like a no brainer, but who would be surprised if that's the option they take? The longer they put off the vote, the more long-term damage they are doing, and I'm not talking about losing zombiecash either.
  6. With you there. With a little luck the SFL looks like it might break the 50/50, let alone the 75/25 vote. SFL clubs have shown up the SPL for the craven mess it is. It's time to ditch the SPL and bring everything together under one group, though NOT this season and NOT for the benefit of the SPL tv deals and zombie lovers.
  7. Yet another illustration of why Doncaster is such a twunt. 2013/14 is plenty time for clubs to rebudget for renegotiated contracts. As far as I can recall, there has been no comments or acknowledgement from the SPL sides that ANY contracts guaranteeing the presence of ANY particular club(s) is in itself corrupt as it automatically discounts the nature of sport, even considering the liklihood when the contarcts were signed of either OF team slipping outside the top six let alone going bust. It is difficult to fathom the thinking behind any SPL club that sneaks in a yes vote tomorrow after saying it would vote no. Even if some fans who said they'd quit the game return, I reckon there will still be enough staying away to do major damage. And don't get me started on the talk of a secret vote ffs....
  8. It certainly has that air of stitch up about it, but Hibs are (in)famous for the blandness of their announcements and this could just be referring to the fact that, should the SPL reject the zombies, the SPL has no further say and it is down to the SFA and SFL. These announcements, like the line you highlighted, seem to me typical of leaving too much open to question instead of just playing it straight. In an earlier post, I quesioned the acuracy of the BBC line regarding Petrie meeting Green. Petrie is well aware of the views of Hibs fans regarding the zombies, so I would be very surprised if he was supporting any SFL1 option or any of the SPL2 guff. I was really proud when Petrie spoke up way back when about integrity and had no doubt the club would vote against alowing zombies in the spl. However, we really need Petrie to make a clear, unambiguous statement on this, otherwise his position at the club really will be untenable. SPL clubs need to show more respect and good manners to the SFL, and their own fans. If they think their fans won't notice or care about such a stitch-up then they are truly mistaken.
  9. Pinched from RTC, here is Paul McConville's latest... Sharp as ever, his comments on individual points in The Document are brilliant. http://scotslawthoughts.wordpress.com/2012/06/29/latest-plan-to-save-rangers-is-an-abdication-of-responsibility-by-the-football-authorities/
  10. Morning all. Apologies if this is living in fantasyland or if it is has been shot down before, but could any of the esteemed legal minds on this forum say whether there are any options of a class-action style suit brought by the fans against the football authorities in this country? ok, I know it is just fantasyland, but still...
  11. They would rather lose any number of small and smaller clubs if the spectacle of bile and hate is preserved, because it is the self proclaimed bestest mosest famous derby in the world, because they have bought into the idea that Scottish football is Rangers and Celtic and only Rangers and Celtic. Because they are arseholes. I like the idea of a super premier league with just two teams playing each other 38 times.
  12. There is always the chance that this may be the case, but considering he knows full well the reaction this would spark from Hibs fans, I seriously doubt it until there is absolute proof.
  13. It's one thing to support a shite team, this is football after all, it's quite something else to be pissed on.
  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQ7r5wblCno Right, definitely off out now.....
  15. Of course, an awful lot of what is happening just now, even the SFL document and SPL2 stuff is part of a last desperate push to force to save the unsaveable because the powers just cannot grasp the concept of a world without Zombies. Hurt and outraged that the fans have dared to voice an opinion they opt to force through their 'compromise' promising us that it's for the good of the game and we don't understand the whole picture. The only reason we don't understand the whole picture is because the SFA, SPL etc keep it under wraps, treating us like children and threatening us with the bogeyman - such as the SKY deal. Has anyone ever actually seen that or have we all just been basing our arguments on drip-fed nuggets of nonsense? At the very least the game's officers must go. Their positions are untenable. All the commercial deals must be transparent and made public. New officers must undergo a fit for purpose test and all possible conflicts of interest declared before election. There must be a fans representative on the national body, elected by fans. Each and every development just makes we want Club Zombie to die at birth. We have to start again with a clean slate, not the sticky end of a shitty stick. Another rant. I'm offer for yet another walk to calm down. Doing a lot of that recently.
  16. I'm sure ransom notes are more subtle than this SFL document. It has to be Scenario 5, regardless of the blackmail. The only money that oldco brought into the game was for the benefit of RFC, not the game as a whole. The only fans that will be lost are oldco fans. More clubs will go under if the leagues are reorganised for Club Zombie, because their fans will not be party to this. Commercial deals will need to be renegotiated, but the existence of any deal based around the survival of any particular club just shows yet again that the game is corrupt.
  17. I dearly hope you are right, though I suspect that even if this club becomes extinct the powers that be will insist on finding a league place for them. I'm going out for a walk now to calm down.....
  18. If the SPL chairmen knew about his and it's not just another donkey drive, just how stupid do they think their fans are? Do they really think we can't see through that? Did they really misread the outrage about the no-newco-in-the SPL? And as for Petrie..... I reckon the 'it is understood' line means this info has come from Doncaster or Green but has not been confirmed with Petrie, so it could just be nonsense. If Petrie is involved in such a stitch up, then shame on you sir.
  19. It's not a compromise, it's a shafting. So typical that the chance to improve the game in Scotland is being based on keeping alive one the very elements that has been key to its demise.
  20. I couldn't agree more. The way the game's authorities have conducted themselves throughout this farce has been nothing short of shameless. Like other's who do not support the club that used to be Rangers, there have been a great many times when I have taken delight in the club's fall from favour. But I couldn't laugh at the Bomber Brown rally, it really was too far beyond a joke. In times of crisis, you see people at their best and worst. Unfortunately, and while I expect this saga has a long time to run yet, from what I have seen and read, we have the game's guardians, the people involved in the club and the most vocal of the club's fanbase at nothing other than their worse. One of the key moments for me regarding Brown was right at the end when he says something along the lines of 'we have still have our dignity' (I can't bear watching it again to get the quote right). Dignity has been awol from the start, as has been, in my opinion, any serious attempt to save the club. When clubs are in crisis, the fans tend to join together, but the emotional blackmail of 'not walking away' has been a dark and threatening spectre, tying the good aspects of trying to keep a club alive with the worst aspects of 'the cause' (for those who believe there is one). The club's decent fans are the ones that have been well and truly hung out to dry. These days, I do not want this club, in whatever guise, to be admitted to the SFL let alone getting in to SFL3. There has been speculation that more than one new version of Rangers could appear, and while that may appear like another joke, it actually might have some merit. There could be one for those who need their fix of hate, and one for decent fans who want to watch a football team free of the blight baggage. One thing is certain though, the game needs to change.
  21. Cheers for that. Now that you mention it, that process does sound familiar. I'm a bit slow today, sorry. Anyway, here's hoping the three years of accounts rule comes into force and Spartans or whoever makes the grade instead.
  22. Are you sure about the SLF3 applications being a simple majority? I was under the impression that both SFL1 and SFL3 options were 8/30. Of course, considering my hangover, I could be talking utter nonsense.
