  1. Perhaps because they are so important they should just be able to cherrypick any player they like from Scottish clubs and not have to pay. Hold on, that sounds familiar... And yes folks, I did reply to the wrong post earlier. Because I'm a thicko.
  2. You may well be right, but I will certainly take time to visit the SFL clubs that have show more spine than the whole of the SPL. Even if it just turns out to be a fond farewell before I abandon the game here altogether.
  3. I'm feeling much the same. I even reckon SFL clubs could see a fairly hefty rise in attendances next season as fans avoid SPL clubs.
  4. Bizzare thought on a bizzare day... Could we find ourselvers in the position where the SPL club with the biggest drop in their own supporters is the biggest sign of sporting integrity among fans?
  5. So, The Donkey says its either the SPL or SFL1 for the zombies or we have financial armagedon. So the SPL chairmen should vote to make a serious loss to their customer base. So the SPL sponsors will be supporting a corrupt league with a rapidly diminishing customer base and no credibility. For a club that will leave for pastures new at the first chance it gets. It seems like a no brainer, but who would be surprised if that's the option they take? The longer they put off the vote, the more long-term damage they are doing, and I'm not talking about losing zombiecash either.
  6. With you there. With a little luck the SFL looks like it might break the 50/50, let alone the 75/25 vote. SFL clubs have shown up the SPL for the craven mess it is. It's time to ditch the SPL and bring everything together under one group, though NOT this season and NOT for the benefit of the SPL tv deals and zombie lovers.
  7. Yet another illustration of why Doncaster is such a twunt. 2013/14 is plenty time for clubs to rebudget for renegotiated contracts. As far as I can recall, there has been no comments or acknowledgement from the SPL sides that ANY contracts guaranteeing the presence of ANY particular club(s) is in itself corrupt as it automatically discounts the nature of sport, even considering the liklihood when the contarcts were signed of either OF team slipping outside the top six let alone going bust. It is difficult to fathom the thinking behind any SPL club that sneaks in a yes vote tomorrow after saying it would vote no. Even if some fans who said they'd quit the game return, I reckon there will still be enough staying away to do major damage. And don't get me started on the talk of a secret vote ffs....
  8. It certainly has that air of stitch up about it, but Hibs are (in)famous for the blandness of their announcements and this could just be referring to the fact that, should the SPL reject the zombies, the SPL has no further say and it is down to the SFA and SFL. These announcements, like the line you highlighted, seem to me typical of leaving too much open to question instead of just playing it straight. In an earlier post, I quesioned the acuracy of the BBC line regarding Petrie meeting Green. Petrie is well aware of the views of Hibs fans regarding the zombies, so I would be very surprised if he was supporting any SFL1 option or any of the SPL2 guff. I was really proud when Petrie spoke up way back when about integrity and had no doubt the club would vote against alowing zombies in the spl. However, we really need Petrie to make a clear, unambiguous statement on this, otherwise his position at the club really will be untenable. SPL clubs need to show more respect and good manners to the SFL, and their own fans. If they think their fans won't notice or care about such a stitch-up then they are truly mistaken.
  9. Pinched from RTC, here is Paul McConville's latest... Sharp as ever, his comments on individual points in The Document are brilliant. http://scotslawthoughts.wordpress.com/2012/06/29/latest-plan-to-save-rangers-is-an-abdication-of-responsibility-by-the-football-authorities/
  10. Morning all. Apologies if this is living in fantasyland or if it is has been shot down before, but could any of the esteemed legal minds on this forum say whether there are any options of a class-action style suit brought by the fans against the football authorities in this country? ok, I know it is just fantasyland, but still...
  11. They would rather lose any number of small and smaller clubs if the spectacle of bile and hate is preserved, because it is the self proclaimed bestest mosest famous derby in the world, because they have bought into the idea that Scottish football is Rangers and Celtic and only Rangers and Celtic. Because they are arseholes. I like the idea of a super premier league with just two teams playing each other 38 times.
  12. There is always the chance that this may be the case, but considering he knows full well the reaction this would spark from Hibs fans, I seriously doubt it until there is absolute proof.
