  1. Wild call yes, and I agree about some abysmal performances, but the early part of the season nobody knew what they were doing, what system they were playing or who’d be beside them. It’s his first year at the club and I still can’t recall a player who has scored more goals from corners, some of them crucial. Just remember most of our team have been fucking awful at some point during the season, apart from the more recent arrivals.

  2. POTY, at the moment, is Ashcroft. I’ll wait and see what happens in the playoffs. His goals came at crucial moments and kept us in the chase for 2nd. Defensively, he has had to chop and change in systems and personnel. Back three? Back four? Keeper? Can’t remember a Dundee Team scoring more goals from corners than he has over the last couple of months.

  3. 3 Wins = 2nd place guaranteed.

3 Draws = can miss out on playoffs on goal difference only if ICT and Dunfermline win last two matches.

3 Defeats = managerial change at least??

Trying to look at positives but at the moment we’re not consistent enough to pull off 6 performances on the trot so need at least second.

  4. Hearts 6-2, losing 3 to Alloa and scraping a draw, Bonnyrigg, losing a 3 goal lead. We have been utterly pish this year. One good result against hearts isn’t enough. Even if we scrape into the playoffs we don’t stand a chance. Please leave James before you turn into McIntyre Mark 2.

I’ve had enough and would prefer a further outbreak of COVID so the league was called. Totally lost interest.

  5. Exactly.
Name ONE club that was even thinking of appointing McPake.  Not one club was because they would judge him on his ability or at the very least his potential ability.  Nelms fell for the fact he thought McPake loved the club and that he was hard working - and the fact he was the cheapest option!  Even if those two attributes were true it takes much more than that to be the manager of a club the size of Dundee.
McPake must be laughing himself to sleep each night.  Laughing even more than he did with the reporter after the Arbroath debacle  before he realised they had gone live!

I thought that was the Bonnyrigg debacle.
  6. Hospitality/food and drink.
Even saying 3000 of the season ticket holders spend a tenner in the ground at a match, and that's being conservative, there's 30k a match in revenue. That adds up over a season.

30k revenue minus the costs of acquiring the food/drink and serving it. You could always get Fat Tony to rustle up a cold buffet with ingredients from a Foodbank but he’d probably eat half of it.
  7. And he's back...

John Brown has claimed he has the support of former Rangers captain Barry Ferguson in his bid to help supporters gain control of the Ibrox club.

Former player Brown, who coached Ferguson in the midfielder's early days at Ibrox, has been talking to the Blackpool player in recent days about his ongoing plans to front a consortium to buy out Sevco Scotland.

He said: "I have spoken to Barry and he has promised me that he is 100% behind me. There is no doubting his commitment and his enthusiasm for my deal. But I can assure everyone how excited Barry is to be given this opportunity to do something for the club he loves."

It's all coming together. Bomber has the brawn, Barry has the brains.

  8. Proposed plan to re-organise Scottish football on the STV website.

Even if half of whats written is true I cannot believe that the SFA is going to rubber stamp this. This is nothing but a cop out. For months this situation has been allowed to drag on. What has been shown is that the leadership of the SFA / SPL governing bodies are incapable of fairness, thought or decisive action. All we hear is that it is a very complex problem and is not easy to sort out. Well gentlemen thats exactly what you get paid big salaries to do - sort out problems.

This has demonstrated that the leadership of the SFA / SPL governing bodies are spineless and have been promoted into jobs far above their capabilities.

We are the laughing stock of football.

The basic problem is simple :-

1.The Newco is a new club and should apply in the normal way for membership of the SFA and if approved should start in the 3rd division.

    2. If Elgin City or Huntly wanted to join the SFA, thats exactly what they would have to do. They would not expect to join division 1.

ANY other scenerio indicates that the rules governing all other clubs in the SFA do NOT apply to one of the big Glasgow two. If that is the case there is no point in going on.

Secondary problem - The Financial Implications :-

    3. With the loss of Rangers from the SPL there is a financial implication. Excluding the easy option of item 2 above, what other avenues have been explored by the SFA / SPL governing bodies to mitigate this loss?

    4. The proposed parachuting of Sevco into the first division is an insult, and a disgrace to the hardworking and rule abiding clubs from the SFL. The current plan is for them to be financially bribed to allow Sevco into the first division. If that doesn't work the SPL are bullying them to accept or they will be excluded from a proposed new SPL 2.

    5. I sincerely hope that the SFL tell the SFA / SPL to take a hike. They have never shown any interest in the status or welfare of the lower division clubs. Now that they are in trouble they are turning to the SFL with a combination of bribery and bullying tactics to achieve what they want. Not a good combination for trying to obtaining a result. The SFA did not show any interest when Livingston were relegated for merely going into administration, so why are they inventing rules "on the hoof" to accommodate Rangers / Sevco who just about broke every rule in the book?

When Rangers (and Celtic) made serious noises over the years about quitting Scotland for the English leagues, they were not in the slightest bit interested in the financial state of Scottish football they would leave behind. So why are we bothered about Sevco. Surely we would be in the same position now as then.

To the suits of the SFA grasp the moment and develop some backbone. This is a one off chance to sort out and cleanse Scottish football once and for all.

Get on with it. Bite the bullet, take the pain (and there will be pain) and get re-organised into a fairer league set up with equal voting rights for all. One governing body to run it , with play offs and a fairer distribution of money. Never again must we be in a position where two clubs call the shots in Scottish football.

    Brilliant
