  1. Watched my first senor game in 1981 near that yellow gate
  2. The purpose of any vote on a proposal is to vote for the option which suits you best. Is it not? 2012 proved to me that all Scottish clubs were in it for themselves no club has the back of other club. Even this season if you look at the results the integrity of the game is not in question. Any club or set of set that think otherwise are desperate. I don't see how you can hand out the prize money without ending the season one way or another. As there is no sign of football re-starting on mainland Europe anytime soon it all comes down to whether clubs can survive indefinitely without the prize money. The clubs struggling on the field are looking for a way out of an unsuccessful season (we would probably all do the same) but I don't think it's fair on all supporters who have funded the clubs up to the point the leagues stopped not to recognise the points won and recorded. Note that Clubs have 28 days to confirm their vote. As a fan that hates the current uneven 38 game programme I would welcome a new set up of 14 team top league & 10 x 3 with no relegation throughout the league set ups but not sure how it would affect the lower league clubs.
  3. So Albion Rovers are thrown out of the Challenge Cup for fielding a 29 minute sub but anything goes in the League Cup especially if there is a TV match scheduled. Only in Scotland.
  4. Does anyone buy a paper on a daily basis? Generation thing but I'm nearly 50 and can't remember the last time I bought a paper. The thought of buying a paper to see what Keith Jackson or Bill Leckie is just desperate. I don't even bother looking at the back page in Supermarket any more. There must be younger posters who have never bought a paper
  5. Nice couple of games for Aberdeen in Europa League should ease themselves into 3rd qualifying stage
  6. Excellent totally deserved throughout the season Hibs have been an excellent football team. Just seen the highlights could've been five or six today. Lost count of how many top league sides they beat this season. In the cup run alone: Hearts after being 2 down; Inverness away after the disappointment of losing the League Cup final now the great rangers side for the third time this season So anyone who said this side lacked bottle doesn't really know their football. Pity the rangers fans came onto the pitch if any set of supporters should understand an emotional pitch invasion I thought if would be them considering - Barcelona '72, Aberdeen '87
  7. Good cup tie and fantastic Maloney goal. He was Strachan's most important player at Celtic and the partnership is working well for Scotland. Maloney was always a better player than McGeady. As for O'Neill he turned Celtic into Scotlands top team and they've not looked back. Although the other mob he blew out of the water have never recovered. He done OK at Villa but was murderer at Sunderland. Did Germany really win the World Cup in the summer? The way things are going the return with Germany could be the decider.
  8. First visit to Bayview - decent pre season stuff.
  9. Definitely is. I was thinking of going through to Fife tomorrow and possibly go to the game so I've been checking sites for a few updates had to rely on Fulham's for a bit of interest.
  10. Will there be tickets on sale at Celtic Park on Saturday? Been on the official websites but very little information. I have some tickets but some other friends might want to go.
  11. If you don't hurry up you'll be in the Saints end like a lot of neutrals!
  12. Has to be said at the start of all this it was a tough call because Rangers were by no means the first club to go into administration just the biggest. However as all the issues came to light it has made the decision for the authorities very easy. In a sport where a club can get booted out of the Scottish Cup for a mere admin error, what is an appropriate punishment for years and years of cheating? SFA & SPL should deal with all the issues as one rather than individually it's the only way to clear the whole thing up. Rangers should take a year out gracefully and sort themselves out.
  13. It's not two extra Celtic games it's just in a League of the 11 remaining clubs there is the oppoprtunity to play 4 times giving 40 matches instead of the current 38. This would get rid of the split and all teams would have 20 home games instead of the current 18 or 19. It makes sense as the 11 teams are already in place. I wouldn't expect Dundee to be too interested in this idea as they could still benefit if TheNewRangers are correctly not allowed into the SPL.
  14. Great opportunity for the SPL to get rid of the awful split. The 11 remaining clubs should go as they are, remove the split and meet each other 4 times, giving 40 matches instead of the present 38. This would give them an extra home match (in some cases two) and the guarentee of two vists from Celtic. This would go some way to compensating them from the impact of losing rangers. The final quarter of fixture would need to be constructed accordingly with the team in the middle of the table taking on part in the final round of matches. Just a thought.
