  1. I thought Celtic were a wee bit rusty yesterday normally played about four European ties by now. Some nice moves in the first half but hit a lull in second. Aberdeen looked like they were trying to stay in the game for as long as possible and have a go in the late stages so the Jota goal very welcome nevermind very special.
  2. Dublin? is that not like booking a flight into Glasgow for a match in Dingwall? Went on holiday to Sligo and they played Derry - about an hour and a half away. A good chance to progress.
  3. Thankfully I managed to get to Meadowbank Stadium before it was torn down and it was a great "groundhop" experience with a great pitch view inspite of the running track. Sadly looking at the video of the new ground it's only going to make Ainslie Park look good.
  4. Years ago Sandy Clark working in a Sports Shop in Airdrie. I went in for ManUtd top before they were popular. Very short exchange "No we don't have that". I wonder if he is still average?
  5. True they would need a membership so a member club would need to become the national team or be liquidated. Or is not leve 5 now?
  6. What an effort from Arbroath. Rugby Park jumping only because of the huge part Arbroath played this season. Great occasion though and proof that Leagues of ten work well in Scotland.
  7. If it was they might what to check if they have kept the receipt.
  8. Friday nght football in Alloa. Broomhill 0. Rangers-B 2 my 6th LL game of theseason but not a great game with no outstanding performance. ,
  9. A scappy game in Alloa between Broomhill and East Stirlingshire but a great goal for number two - by far the highlight in this one.
  10. Celtic v St Mirren May 1982 above the first time I saw us win the title 40 feckin' years ago
  11. Hampden is a poor design but is it all that bad? I used to get really annoyed about state of Hampden then I thought it's 4 games a season max and would say 70% of seats are OK. North and South Stand are fine while the sides of the East and West stands are OK. For all my recent visits my seats have been directly behind the goal of the East Stand but in the triple letter rows which although miles away give a full unobstructed view of pitch and are acceptable. The views in the two ends to about 20 rows up are very poor and unless you are going for the occassion or atmosphere you'd be as well not being there. Ofcourse getting away especially midweek can be hopeless but I'm sure that's the same for all big grounds and even indoor arenas. I think if the TV cameras where switched to the North Stand it would give it a better look on TV (but only when full) because it does look very poor in comparison to new stadia but no one is going to fund anything better, anytime soon.
  12. Picked up my tickets tonight after hassle on the train line through to Yoker. Thankfully the ticket marquee was still opened when I eventually got there.
  13. Why did the ref allow that first "tackle" they don't help themselves with nonsense decisions like that.
  14. Total crowd looks to be in the low hundreds. Having just seen the full main stand Thistle fans are outnumbering the home crowd and it's far from a big away following.
  15. To be fair the the evidence of Domestic refereeing v European refs of Rangers2012 is very damning. How many retrospective red cards have Rangers2012 received in the last few seasons because referees are not doing their job?
  16. Monday night rather than Sat afternoon suits me. Holm Park capacity over 3000 - what is the record attendance?
  17. Funny how the BBC interviewer didn't mention the "L" word when interviewing the Gretna2008 manager pre-match in case she upset any of her Sportscene colleagues.
  18. Attended the match last night. Totally blind to Fort's recent form. Like many cup tie's it was all about the first goal. As soon as it went in it was straightforward for East Stirlingshire. Has there been some investment in Fort William, with all the TV interest due to their awful winless run?
  19. Attended my third Lowlands game yesterday this time: Rangers-B v Vale of Leithen at Dumbarton. One sided as expected but to be fair Vale tried their best to make the young RangersB team work for all their goals. There were a few very good long range efforts among the goals. Overall not the best game to judge the competition this league gives but there are always sides that struggle in any league and Vale are also no match for the better sides in the league.
  20. Just hope no one was late - quite a fast start I hear.
  21. Is Β£14 the normal price for Div Two now? 𝙉𝙀𝙓𝙏 π™ˆπ˜Όπ™π˜Ύπ™ƒ Friday night football returns this week: @ElginCityFC @cinchuk League 2 Friday 27 Aug 19:45 KO Tickets available now via http://bit.ly/2VBRHkZ Adults Β£14 / Cons Β£9 / u12s FREE with paid adult Cash gate on the night. I've been to this fixture a couple of times prior to lockdown but maybe wait until its back at Meadowbank. How many are likely to make the trip on a Friday night?
  22. East Stirlingshire v Civil Service Strollers. at the Falkirk Stadium sad the number of fans turned away today due to the the exclusive use of FanApp for entry. I get the need for this while restrictions are in place, but why continue the sole use now restrictions have been lifted? The App is only available until 2pm then it's turned off. What good is that? How many older fans, away fans and last minute fans those plans changed late? Not a great way to treat fans - surely they must rethink this?
  23. Hopefully the stadium is sold out - the club certainly deserve it after the triumphs of last season and reason times.
  24. Not sure if it was a quick kick-off but remember an incident when a team didn't return the ball after the ball was played out for treatment to a player.
  25. But they didn't. Traditionally the sporting thing is let both sides line up - maybe he was peeved with something or just wanted to be the hero of the day. I wonder if there is another occasion this happened?
