Ridiculous it took VAR to give the penalty - McLean misses another clear handball. Red card is harsh though.

Shocker from Beaton. Never a penalty. Great effort from Elgin.

Cliftonhill has huge grounds around it. Surprised the spaces behind each goal have not been developed for housing and leisure. There could be gyms and other sport facilities incorporated into the area. The side to the left of the stand is on a hilly bank would cost a bit to level and I suppose is the reason. The area behind the covered terrace has a development of flats. I bought one in 1998 when they were built unfortunately it was a ground floor flat and I couldn't see the pitch. -
The worse collectice officiating I've seen since the 2015 Scottish Cup semi final farce. The offside goal decision was awful. I was in line with the defender and he did play the ball so by the laws the linesman was wrong to flag - the ref was right to overrule and obviously wrong to give into pressure from the Linlithgow players. The same two officials missed a penalty for Linlithgow late in the first half and there could've been a penalty to Raith early in the game but I didn't have a great view of that. Also didn't think much of the decision to allow both clubs to play in their traditional colours. Not easy to distinguish between maroon and navy.

A helping hand from Efe and VAR - how two SFA refs could see that deflected shot as a penalty is ridiculous. A good crowd - I'm sure the away fans day was ruined by that call - nevertheless a good payday.

Is that you in the wee photo - a good day for you! Only mentioned a bigger stadium in relation to Hearts. And bigger stadiums do make a difference if Fergus McCann had built a 40,000 seat stadium rather 60,000 we would still be trailing the big bad rangers. The only lower league clubs being shifted are ones replaced in Div 2 like poor Berwick by clubs with little or no stadium facilities and putting all their resources into their first team giving them an unfair advantage. There should be a balance.

Aberdeen v 'Rangers' - Tues 20/12 - 8pm
Eder replied to 10menwent2mow's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
That rule is not being consistently followed. One game it needs to be intentional and in another as long as a hand is out or above head it's handball. -
As long as Celtic and Rangers are in the Scottish League we are going to have the huge gap. I would have two top leagues of ten. Called them whatever you want and market them as a package. The 10 team league structure in Scotland works throughout the divisions. I know it is despised by many but look at the Championship as a good example rather the the Premiership. Two top leagues of ten would increase crowds as the appeal would be greater and also get rid of the split which every season challenges sporting integrity because of the uneven fixture schedule 33 + 5. The TV and prize money would need to be spread more evenly among the 20 clubs. I think Hearts could challenge but have shot themselves in the foot by creating a stadium with a capacity of only 20,000. Unfortunately we don't have many clubs with good potential so we need play to our strengths. Also further down the pyramid it doesn't help when clubs come in to league two with little facilities like Bonnyrigg Rose. There should be a set and achievable criteria as much for supporters as the clubs. You did ask.

Celtic vs County 12/11/22
Eder replied to Sensible Soccer🏴's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
The evidence is there in the first few weeks of VAR that Celtic are treated differently. It's quite funny that you see incidents that should at least be reviewed are not because they may not like what they see. -
PSV beat Ajax today. Not so long ago Van Bronckhorsts side knocked them out of CL, weeks after guiding them to the Europa League final. Add the Scottish Cup to this and compare his record with the previous ibrox managers since 2012. Despite these money spinning achievements and selling a number of players for over £30m he has not been backed by their board. I would suggest he is not the problem.

How many managed to make the trip down? Well rewarded anyway!

Livingston v Ross County (Sat 8th Oct)
Eder replied to Matty-RCFC's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Fair play to the band of County fans that made the trip to TMA after getting hammered by Motherwell midweek. They got a great reward. -
Celtic caused all their own problems today. Missed too many chances, giving away an OG, crowd getting edgy when there was no real need and avoidable red card.

Elgin City v Annan Athletic 01/10/22
Eder replied to gordon9736's topic in Scottish League 2 General Chatter
Fine win. A concern when Elgin are 2-0 (HT) as it's not been a certain winning position this season. four goals and an assist must be individual performance of the season so far from Hester. -
Just had to make sure promotion was automatic.

Dundee Utd vs Celtic Sunday 28th
Eder replied to Henrik's tongue's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Aberdeen wins over Celtic played a huge part in Dundee United winning the league in 83 while you were enjoying the delights of Gothenburg. It was the best time maybe due to two exceptional managers but I also think the top league of ten helped. Since we started missing about with it, it's never been the same. Ultimately Scotland is no different to any other country and money has changed football forever. -
Dundee Utd vs Celtic Sunday 28th
Eder replied to Henrik's tongue's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Remember Tannadice used to be Celtic's hardiest away game. My first visit was May 1982 to win the league and we got horsed 3-0. I seen the rest of our matches there in the eighties and only seen us win once. And still we had thousands of fans locked out due to capacity being reached until tickets were introduced. I was beginning to feel sorry for United until you looked at the sections left empty that could've been sold. I just don't see the point of this. Doesn't do anyone any good. Changed days all round. -
Celtic v Hearts. 21st August.
Eder replied to Flybhoy's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Celtic didn't quite get going today even after taking an early lead. Awkward game for Hearts between the two Euro ties. We had a similar game at Tynecastle a few years back. Hearts are building a decent squad and Neilson managed the game well until the the last minute. Boyce was rightly booked for sheer stupidity. He could've slowly retreated and held up Hart taking a quick kick instead of picking the ball up that Hart has already placed. The first red was right but will need to see the second again. 100th time seeing Heart in the league today over 42 years. Overall better result for us than performance.
