  1. Yeah, the guy that got you a point - cost you the win.
  2. Gave up listening to Scottish radio stations years ago. Just awful. I want info on other Scottish sides no excuse for Radio Scotland covering Glasgow football. I hear they have added Bobby "I'm no a cheat" Madden to their endless list of unbiased experts.
  3. The good thing about this years play off is the SLD2 bottom side have a little bit of form however Rovers home record is not good. Still all to play for next week.
  4. I saw my first matches in 1981 including Albion Rovers v Celtic XI on 17 Feb 81.
  5. If clubs invest only in players and not their facilities it gives them an unfair advantage. A bus shelter for a stand and very little terrace. The pitch has the biggest slope I've in a football ground. A pyramid system should increase all round standards not dilute them.
  6. My first visit to New Dundas Park on Saturday. Huge crowd which is good to see for Scottish Lower league and enjoyable afternoon but how does the ground meet minimum criteria? The pyramid is a good thing for Scottish footballl but there should be some basic standards.
  7. I hate the split is is totally wrong to have a league with 33 + 5 matches Anyway I hope they do go for Rangers-Celtic first game. There is no way Celtic would want to win the league with no fans -- totally meaningless. Rangers fans know how rubbish that is. Everyone would win Rangers would get a derby win and Celtic could have a home match the following week.
  8. Game of two strikers Kyogo and Morelos today. Kyogo took his chances while Morelos missed his. Not much more in it. Celtic the better football team but not great today. RangersII lived off set plays but made too many mistakes.
  9. vaR only highlights how bad Scottish referees are. Answerable to no-one. It would be great if the SFA asked UEFA for help to improve our referees. Possibly an exchange scheme. It's no just Scotland's national team that misses out on UEFA/FIFA finals, when was the last time our officials refereed at the highest level? I don't see any evidence of the SFA doing anything to improve standards.
  10. Amazing picture. I was only ever at Hampden once when it was still there - the 1981 Scottish Cup Semi Final between Celtic and Dundee United (0-0). I didn't get to the midweek replay - which was quite a game for United fans.
  11. My first Cup Final. Right down the front watching through the mesh fence in the teaming rain. Getting in through the turnstiles was like a scrum, must have been loads without tickets due to the reduced capacity of 55,000. As soon as Danny lift the cup I was off back to the bus. It would be a long wait until our next League Cup win.
  12. You mean unlike some Glasgow clubs, Celtic don't need any help from officials to win their matches. Absolutely right sir!
  13. Both incidents were late challenges on Celtic players but nothing given so to infer Hearts were hard done to by officials yesteray is a far stretch from reality.
  14. He also forgot where the penalty spot was. Stonewall penalty after a late challenge on Johnson and no protection for Joe Hart for another late with his challenge after Hart made a double save.
  15. 2900 for Friday night football. Certainly no help for the Killie fans. Anyone know how much the clubs receive for TV at this stage.
  16. Wednesday was the 100th time I've seen Celtic-Hearts in the league, my first game was a 6-0 win in 1981 so you could say nothing much has changed but football in the last 30 years as we know has changed due to TV money and now most leagues throughout Europe only has two clubs capable of winning their league title.
  17. Celtic win the Rangers League Cup "again". League Cup/Skol Cup/Coca-Cola Cup - no matter what it was called there was a time we just didn't win it. My first final ever was in 1982 and a 2-1 win followed by 15 years of failure while Rangers seemed to win it every year. Good bad and indifferent Rangers sides won this trophy regardless of form. In 2019 Rangers outplayed Neil Lennon's Celtic but still lost mainly due to Fraser Forster. Today again was more important to Rangers than Celtic but it didn't look like that on the pitch as Rangers toiled to keep up with Celtic. Just another sign that the original Rangers are no more. Wee Kyogo makes a big difference again.
  18. This is football all over Europe now but only if you manage it well. Having the biggest budget doesn't matter if poorly run. Hearts have consolidated third place due to having a good manager and buying some good players so to a lesser extent they are doing what Celtic are doing by making their budget count. Aberdeen on the other hand are not. Celtic's brand of football has been good since Rodgers time because they have improved their standards however it has to be said the quality in the bottom half of the league has been poor for years.
  19. Good from Celtic today especially first half and two smashing goals in the second. Very strong in midfield with the McGregor-Hatate-O'Riley combination. Yes we do have the biggest budget but more importantly it has been spent well. Aberdeen desperately need to get the manager right this time to get the club going in the right direction. For too long the best thing about them has been the away support but overall should be much better.
  20. Four sides I've been to a few as some clubs have changed their away end over the years. Celtic Park, Hampden, Firhill, Fir Park, McDairmid Stadium, Easter Road, Tynecastle, Tannadice, Pittodrie, Old Trafford, Anfield, Stadium of Light, Brockville, Rugby Park
  21. Remains me of my first ever game at old Broomfield - around Oct 1980 - Airdrie Res 0 Rangers Res 10. Rangers played a number of fringe players like Gregor Stevens. The game made the back page of the Sunday Mail because of the scoreline. I left at 0-9. Any Rangers fans with maybe programmes from 80/1 may have reference to it.
  22. I'll take your word for it. It didn't look clear on TV. Elgin in QF's would've been great. I hope you get Kilmarnock at home.
