Good save from Mehmet. Was worried when the pen got given. We’ve started really poorly, but that’s not a big surprise, need to try and get a positive result - it doesn’t need to be pretty.

Harper probably in midfield for this one?
Anyway, I fancy us here. ICT 2 - 0 Dunfermline. Danny Devine hat trick.Seems about right. I’m sure he’ll have at least one disallowed for offside.

Wallace Duffy will score a brace here.
Come on, that’s a bit harsh. I’m sure he’ll only score one own goal tonight. Danny Devine will score the other.

For Kane not to be on the bench, tells me it's not about managing him. There a problem. He lasted 3 games, which is quite impressive for a Pars player these days.
Was it not only 2 games? Hopefully it’s just a wee knock/niggle and he’ll be back for the weekend.

I listened to his post-match interview. The lad has been through the mill this season injury wise.
Also...his run and finish for his goal was top-drawer.
Yeah, I’ve really felt for him this season. He’s been a really fit guy since coming into the first team squad. Then has had a nightmare 11 months now. He got an appendix removed towards the end of last season too and missed every game after the title had been officially won.

Not getting carried away, it’ll still be a tough final 12 games. But it’s good to finally get that win - and against one of the better sides (who have comfortably beaten us twice earlier in the season). There are players in there that can help us get results and we need to keep the likes of Todd fit and get others (Bene, Fisher, Breen) back.

Ok. I’ve been critical of McPake and the club lately. Time for some praise when it’s due.
McPake got the team and tactics right tonight. System looked really weird early on, with McCann and Holmes coming so deep when we didn’t have the ball and the full backs playing so narrow. But it worked and, for that, McPake deserves some credit.
We got a bit of luck, yes. But I think we earned that luck.
Todd looked like the same player we all thought he was. Brilliant goal from him. If we can keep him fit, we’ll have a goal threat again. Jakubiak was also a handful for Thistle’s defence - bringing him on once we had the lead was a great tactical move.
MFW looks a very good CB. Edwards looked back to his best, back in his LB role. Allan and Otoo in the middle worked fine, with Otoo putting in a great shift. Forgot how good he is in midfield.
Hamilton is just a brilliant player to have.

Matty Todd is absolutely fantastic. Brilliant to have him back. Delighted for him to get his goal.
Also, Benjamin went absolutely crazy when he scored. He may not be a great footballer, but you could see he cares and that’s certainly much more passion than we got from the players Hughes brought in 2 years ago.
MFW really coming onto a game as well.

One goal was definitely wrong to be disallowed. No doubt about that. But they’ve been constantly shouting ‘cheat’ since we were given a goal, when Todd was 2/3 yards onside proper weirdos.

GIRUY to all the Partick fans that have been shouting cheat ever since we were (correctly) awarded our second goal. What an odd bunch of fans.

I was there in 2013. This is not over yet. Still want to laugh at Thistle though….
This must be great entertainment for a neutral. Not a game of great quality, but pure entertainment nonetheless.

How’s the ref overruled the lino there? Awful refereeing.

Anyone fancy teaching Partick Thistle players and fans the offside rule? Both our goals a result of experienced players needlessly playing our men onside. The cries of ‘cheat’ are just embarrassing.

Holmes is fckn pish
We’ve managed to find someone the same size as McCann, who’s somehow worse at absolutely everything.

Nice of Brian Graham to play 4/5 Dunfermline players onside there

Implosion incoming. Not even talking about people on this thread. We’ve conceded a goal, so we’re going to completely collapse. That’s what we do.

MATTY...MATTY TODD!
Who in Christ's name is playing RB/RWB!?
You answered your own question before you asked it. Looks to me like McPake’s embracing his inner John Hughes and is playing Todd at RWB.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but Comrie in crutches apparently which explains why they've went for a fullback. Get this season firmly in the bin.
I think the club need to assess what’s gone wrong this season. The contact injuries or injuries like KRH’s shoulder are obviously unavoidable. But the extent of our issues can’t just be bad luck. The amount of muscular injuries, or tendon/ligament issues is a concern.
It could be the quality of surface we’ve been training on. If so, all the more reason to make sure the new facilities are excellent.
It could be that the medical team (physio, sports scientist) haven’t done their job to the required standard. They should be monitoring players and helping to avoid a lot of the muscular injuries, as well as ligament/tendon issues. In the modern day, there is a lot of technology and tests that can be done quickly and easily, which can help to reduce the risk of these things and pick up issues before they become more serious. Maybe the club need to invest more money into that side of things?
It could be the coaching staff/players just not listening to advice, or trying to hide injuries until they become really serious. Particularly looking at Bene/Breen for this one, who got muscular injuries immediately upon returning from injury - twice.
Worth adding, these are just some of the possible reasons for this and I’m not suggesting any of them are necessarily correct. It could even be a combination of them all. But it needs to be assessed to make sure we don’t go through this again.

Rovers fans, I don’t think we’ll even come close to winning against you guys in this campaign, but how fuckin foolish will you lot look if we do.
He who laughs last and aw that.Gonna be honest, even if we beat them next month, I can’t see them being too upset about it come the end of the season.
They’ll finish first or second in the league, having beaten us 4 times in 6 games against us, while we battle to avoid relegation. I’m not sure how they’ll be looking foolish there?

I wouldn’t read too much into that, midfield certainly not. CB, we’ve had so many issues at CB going through about 7 different options and he was never tried there, which would hint at him being very poor as a CB
Fair enough. I’m just going off what the article said. I can’t find much about him online, because he’s a 27 year old, with less than 150 career appearances. I was assuming he could play CB, since it’s a CB we’re desperate for. We’re ok at RB and I’m hoping we ditch the back 3 for good, so don’t want to sign someone to play RWB.

So is he a right back?
According to our announcement on the website, yes. But he can play CB and midfield too.

The referee seems to be giving fouls for the slightest contact. It is Gavin Duncan though, he’s proven in the past that there doesn’t even need to be contact for him to give fouls against us.
