  1. I think we need some sort of physical threat up front. If there’s no better option for that available, I’d like to see us keep Todorov. For me, McCann is likely to play left of the front 3, so shouldn’t be counted in our ‘striker’ options, which now consist of just Wighton. McPake likes to have players that offer something different, certainly doesn’t seem to make like-for-like changes. So I’d be surprised if we brought in someone similar to Wighton.
  2. No, but as I said further up the thread, they know who is home and who is away. 2nd seeds play 3rd seeds at home.
  3. That was crazy. Teams warmed up no bother, then there was 10 mins of torrential rain that left the pitch completely unplayable. Was still July, if I remember correctly.
  4. Last year was the first year of 4th/5th seeds. I think every group played the following: 1st seed - home to 2&4, away to 3&5 2nd seed - home to 3&5, away to 1&4 3rd seed - home to 1&4, away to 2&5 4th seed - home to 2&5, away to 1&3 5th seed - home to 1&3, away to 2&4 Based on that, I’d assume we’ll play: home - Killie and Annan away - Raith and Albion
  5. Queens Park only playing at Lesser Hampden until mid-September. From then, all their league games will be at Hampden. Assuming there’s still issues with Lesser Hampden…
  6. Yeah, I’d be up for some sort of refresh. But I definitely prefer the current format to the prior format (and all the garbage pre-season games that used to fill our July). Current format must also be a large reason that the TV deal for the competition is better than the Scottish cup, as viaplay have no other live football to show in July.
  7. You’ll never avoid the scenario of teams in the same league playing each other. There’s only 8 groups and there’s 10 teams in each league. Even if they made it 10 groups of 4, there’s only 7 top flight teams involved, so teams from the lower leagues would have to play teams in the same division as them.
  8. Only want Hamilton if it’ll be at home. That pitch is horrendous. I’m not particularly against artificial pitches. Theirs is horrendous though. Last time we were in the championship, we went to Firhill in the league cup, then in the Scottish cup, then in the playoffs (albeit, to play Queens Park) in addition to the 2 league games there. Playing each other 4 times is already excessive. Giving us an 87.5% chance of having to play one team at least 5 times in a season is just far too much.
  9. Definitely agree, it’s a huge improvement. Just a bit surprised they launched it kinda half-complete. Big step in the right direction though. would be happy with that. Think he’s a very useful player and one that would probably get more time in the championship. He’s a physical threat and knows how to score goals. Would be very pleased if he signs, but obviously wouldn’t blame him if he didn’t.
  10. Any idea if we’re planning to have a squad list and/or player profiles on the new club website? Seems really odd to not have anything to say who the manager/coaches/players are. Honestly think it’s the only club website I’ve ever seen without that information. It might look more modern, but there seems to be a lot missing. For example, there also doesn’t seem to be any contact information for the club or a ‘contact us’ option on the site.
  11. Someone pointed out to me this afternoon that Sam Fisher has removed Dundee FC from his Twitter bio. Can’t imagine many teams are planning to pay compensation for him, so would imagine he’s on his way here.
  12. No chance it will double. 3000 would be very good numbers.
  13. I’m not expecting a signing today, but would be nice to see the home kit. Players seem to be on holiday. Would expect to see them announced closer to returning for pre-season (which is just 2 weeks away!)
  14. Ross County look terrible. Expect both them and United to try and buy the league next season.
  15. The usual srjwindows on the front would be much better. But without their money, we might not be able to afford the likes of KRH.
  16. Up on the website now. https://dafc.co.uk/a-new-errea-away-kit-2023-24/
  17. Yeah, new away kit looks very nice. All red, with white collar. Red shorts and socks. Sponsor logo is a bit different, think I preferred the old one. Overall a very decent looking kit, looking forward to seeing the others.
  18. Yes, in fact there would be more complaints about their prices, if they charge more. For what it’s worth, I think fans would also be complaining if we charged £24.
  19. Yep, us and United Category A games. Typical wee team mentality, trying to cash in on the support of big clubs.
  20. I don’t think they’re horrendous. I’d probably have preferred red, in line with our club colours. But maybe we’ll get a red away kit?
  21. Errea deal confirmed. Until 2027 according to their Twitter feed. Can’t believe Errea got a longer deal than Matty Todd. Sack the board!
  22. Anyway… I do feel quite positive about where we are and the kind of season we could have. If we make the right signings, I do believe we could be challenging for top 4. But I expect us to have a fairly small squad again, so a bit of luck with injuries/suspensions will be required and versatility could be key with the recruits we bring in this summer.
