  1. Yeah. No idea why I said Stone definitely meant Sharp.
  2. What about Harry Sharp, who can’t get a game ahead of Mehmet? (edited to correct Sharp’s name )
  3. Half a squad, but that half includes every recognised defender - and it’s really shown tonight.
  4. Now that Jakubiak’s injured, I’m fairly certain a team of our injured players would be stronger than the team out there. Fisher Benedictus Breen Comrie Todd Otoo KRH McCann Jakubiak Tod
  5. We obviously have a very different definition of ‘back line’ if you don’t think a LB or CB are included in that.
  6. I’m gonna be honest, I’m not sure the kids on the bench can really be worse than what any of our players have shown tonight. Makeshift back line, but that doesn’t explain everyone else’s performances.
  7. What a terrible goal to lose. Summers messing about, to put pressure on our makeshift back line is just stupid.
  8. We’ve definitely benefitted from the horrendous officiating so far.
  9. Collum’s assistant is just making sure that everyone knows that offside was the original verdict for every attack, after last week’s drama. Either that, or he’s just useless and thinks offside is about your position when the ball reaches you, rather than when the ball’s player.
  10. He’s a 20 year old LB, that has never played a game at this level, that has been thrown into the middle of the back 3 20 minutes into the game.
  11. In fairness, the whistle was blown before Paton got the ball and our defenders had stopped, rather than trying to close him down. It was never offside and was a horrendous decision, but it’s also much easier to score when the whistle’s gone and defenders have stopped.
  12. We’re a GK and an attacking player away from having a decent injured 11… No GK Fisher Bene Breen Comrie Todd Otoo KRH Tod McCann Apologies if I’ve forgotten anyone.
  13. Fenton, a LB who’s never started a game before, in the middle of the back 3? This is beyond a joke.
  14. Back 3 of Comrie, Hamilton and Edwards, with O’Halloran and Moffat as wing backs… that’s very desperate!
  15. For me, it’s more that we’re wasting one of our domestic loan slots, so that we can have 2 keepers on the bench every week. Regardless of wages, it just doesn’t make sense to me. Harry Sharp sitting on our bench doesn’t benefit us or the player. As others have mentioned, it was announced as a loan until January. If he’s here until the end of the season, we’ve actually actively extended the deal.
  16. His volleys are even better than his headed goals though.
  17. I don’t doubt that there are a lot of costs at the moment. But the fact remains that they need to continue to invest in the first team squad (not to ridiculous levels), to ensure that the revenue is high enough to cover costs of running an academy/training facility. Unfortunately, whatever has happened this season, regarding injuries, has happened and the club need to react to this and ensure that the situation doesn’t significantly impact results (and therefore revenue/prize money) or the development of our younger players. Recruitment is probably tougher since what we really need to add, particularly in Bene’s absence, is experience. Ashcroft has been rumoured and someone in that mould would be a great addition to the back line. I feel like Fisher/Breen/Otoo really benefit from playing beside Bene and have struggled a bit without him. Admittedly, injuries have also impacted Fisher and Breen. But if we’re putting together a makeshift defence, due to injuries, the players covering there would clearly benefit from an experienced defender there too. If Otoo and Hamilton are being counted as defensive cover, we will need more cover in midfield. If history tells us anything, we can’t be relying on Paul Allan being available every week. We also need someone else to play RWB (if we stick with the back 5) if Comrie is covering at RCB. O’Halloran has been struggling for fitness and we have no other options. If we keep Summers and Moffat, we can probably cope with Todd’s absence - although, we’d all prefer a fully fit Todd. In my opinion, a couple of signings would really help plug the gaps we have in terms of numbers. Either a CB and a RWB, a CB and a midfielder or two CBs. I wouldn’t see loans being an issue. But Sharp is currently wasting one of our domestic loan spots, which is another reason I can’t understand why we want him to stay here. I guess we just need to wait and see what we can/do bring in.
  18. I’m getting fed up talking about injuries, to be honest. But in terms of squad depth, I think we need to look at some of our guys as ‘out for the season’ and plan as if they might not be back. KRH, Todd and Bene would probably be top of the list for that. They seem to have a lot of issues this season and they would almost need a full pre-season before returning now. Best solution for them is possibly to focus on getting generally fit by the end of the season and returning in June fully fit for pre-season, to hit the ground running next year. I know we still have wages to pay etc, but including them when analysing squad size/needs could result in them having to play earlier than they should - as we’ve already seen with Bene. With a bit of investment in the squad, we can finish top 4. Spending say £50k on wages between now and the summer, could see us get an additional £100k in prize money. I understand that a lot of cash is being invested in the training facilities, but running an academy/training facility will be an unsustainable cost, if we aren’t getting the revenue that comes with competing at the top end of the championship, at the very least.
  19. I genuinely find it incredible that people can’t understand this. There’s folk on social media asking why the SNW statement mentions apologising if they’re not to blame… probably cause that’s a decent humane response. I’m sure there are a lot of people that have reached out to the boy and his family, to say they’re really sorry to hear about what he’s been through. The club have also reached out and offered apologies for what’s happened, that doesn’t mean David Cook/Thomas Meggle are responsible either. It’s absolutely clear that the club, fans and those involved at SNW will not tolerate this behaviour and Jason/SNW would be criticised if they didn’t make a statement to make it clear that those involved are not and never will be involved with their group. As I (and several others) have said, I think yesterday’s actions during the game really highlight the need for self-policing and action to be taken against SNW. It’s beyond ridiculous now. But they can’t be blamed for what happened to the boy after the game. Absolutely vile behaviour from all of those involved, but to try and say Jason (or anyone else at SNW) should be taking responsibility for it is just idiotic. The only people responsible are the cretins who were involved and arguably their parents for raising such vile children.
  20. Good news. Hopefully the rest are tracked down quickly and get their comeuppance. I honestly hope none of them are ever able to set foot in a football stadium again and they have to serve time in the cells/young offenders institute (or whatever it’s called).
  21. In fairness, anyone can buy tickets and sit in a section. Just like anyone can buy the merchandise. Pretty sure he just meant that they’re not involved in any of their meetings/supporters buses that are organised and don’t get involved with the displays etc. I don’t think anyone has denied that they probably sit/stand in the NW stand, along with the Section NW guys. But that doesn’t mean that they participate/socialise with them at all, or travel with them etc. Majority of SNW guys seem to meet in the pubs in town etc and I don’t imagine the kids involved yesterday are old enough for that. Hard to identify/associate with people who just turn up to a section and sing songs, but don’t actually mix with the group.
  22. Got to be looking to win this. Queens Park seem to have fallen apart and we need to be, at the very least, distancing ourselves from the teams at the bottom of the table. 2 of our next 3 games are against QP and we need to be demanding 6 points from those 2 games, to kickstart the season again. Ideally, we’d beat Airdrie in between too, but let’s just focus on this game first. The injury situation is the same shambles we’ve been dealing with for a while. We need to find ways to win games - particularly when we face teams in free-fall like this. No excuses if we can’t find a way to win this.
  23. Yeah, Jason’s a decent guy and he will be absolutely devastated that people involved in that yesterday seem to be connected to the section. It’s absolutely not the type of behaviour anyone wants associated with the club, or that section. However, there’s been signs of this. Last year, there were issues up the high street with Falkirk/Sheffield Utd fans. Seemed to just get swept under the carpet rather than addressed. Agree on the players/manager. I think everyone in the stadium, other than the idiots in that section, were pissed off at their behaviour yesterday. Last season, they had a great connection with the players. It was really good to see. But the players seem to be getting fed up with the behaviour within that section as well. Last season, we went away to Falkirk, went 2-0 down. Scored a goal, then made the most of that momentum to get the game restarted quickly and equalise before half time. Yesterday, the players were clearly wanting a quick restart, to try and catch Rovers while they were maybe still a bit fragile from conceding the goal. But they didn’t get to do that, because the fans can’t behave.
  24. I think a large part of the issue is that they are latched onto by the guys who want to cause trouble at big games. A lot of the people who only turn up to the big games will now associate themselves with Section NW. Easier for these ‘hard men’ to hide when they’re in such a crowded section. However, issues are clearly not limited to big games. We repeatedly have issues with things getting thrown onto the park, at players or at officials. That sort of thing is unacceptable, but unfortunately happens most weeks now. We have guys throwing smoke bombs etc at Morton away, which is just weird. Behaviour has been getting worse and has been discussed fairly regularly this season. Even yesterday, after we equalised, folk in that section just kept throwing stuff on the park, delaying the game and killing any potential momentum the team might have had. First half didn’t finish until about 4pm because of the delays. It was also very noticeable that there were loud boos directed towards Section NW from the rest of the home end - a lot of people are getting fed up with this repeated behaviour. They definitely need to self police, but there doesn’t seem to be much intent for them to do so. I’m hopeful that this shows the importance of self policing and getting scum like the guys from yesterday as far away from the club as possible. Unfortunately, I praised the club for offering these cheap season tickets for everyone under 21. But I also think that’s contributed to a lot of the behaviour issues. The NW is fairly empty most weeks, despite being sold out with ST holders. Then suddenly that section fills up for games like yesterday. There’s clearly a number of people who bought £50 season tickets, just to attend and cause trouble at the big games.
  25. I’m sure both clubs could arrange something and I’d honestly be shocked if we weren’t offering to help out/show him support in any way possible.
