I also think it's time for us 'diddy fans' to put pressure on the authorities with regards to sectarian singing and behaviour at games, because you can bet your botom dollar it'll return under the 'newco' banner. If that's the case then am I right in thinking that if Charles Greens decided to rename 'newco' as Third Lanark rather than 'The Rangers', then Third Lanak would take over Rangers history ?

I just can't get my head round this - if Rangers F.C. (oldco) are going to be liquidated shortly, and The Rangers F.C. (newco) are coming into being, I can't for the life of me see how you can transfer 'history'. If a clubs liquidated, it's liquidated, short and simple. how on earth can you transfer anything other than the so-called 'share' ? I don't get it but probably the SFA and oldco/newco understand it all.

I'd agree with most of that. Pretty hollow being 'awarded' a trophy now, but as you say, better it being recorded in the 'cheating' category so it's there for all to see Teams have been cheated out of european places too, so once all is done and dusted I would hope that the record books are rewritten accordingly I'd also hope that every other team from now on refuse to acknowledge 'newco' with 'oldco's achievments, and that 'newco' are listed as being a brand new club with no trophies to their name

If the Sons fans think they have been duped (see Clyde statement a few posts back) then get on the phone to your club continually until Friday. If they think everything was above board at the EGM then they've voted fair and square on what was presented to them. However, I am led to believe it was scaremongering campaign from those at the 'top' at Dumbarton and that the £60,000 withdrawal of cash was misrepresented, as well as the fact that a possible boycott (and they surely must have known by then unless they've had their heads in the sand) that this was a distinct possibility this coming season and that this wasn't taken into account. My belief is that a one-sided doom and gloom story was portrayed which brought fear to those in attendance, hence the result of the vote. I'm sure some of your Trust guys must be reading this and the other posts (you've got a rep on the Board), so if you think a wrongs been done, rectify it. If you think otherwise, fair enough.
