  1. You're absolutely right here. No issues from my end with players/fans/whoever celebrating a trophy win. I think I'm right in saying that's Rangers' 3rd major trophy in the last decade or so? It's about time you reached St. Johnstone's tally.
  2. Every chance I am, tbf! Just thinking for a reason why VAR wouldn't pull it back as he's clearly in the box.
  3. Not 100% sure on this, but is it only encroachment if O'Donnell (I think its him) is the one to clear it after the save? Which, of course, he wasn't.
  4. Let's not be silly here. We're the establishment club. As for the game itself, I'd have taken a point before the game but disappointed in the end not to win it with the chances we had in the second half. 14 now without a win and with Rangers & Aberdeen up next, the Livingston game at the end of the year now looks absolutely massive.
  5. I mean, this is clearly just wrong. Whether you think it's working well or could do better is one thing, but it's obviously working as we're still one of the top teams in the country with quite a few quid in the bank. I've heard a thing or two about the recent statement that went out from the WS, which was interesting, but I believe there are four or five (?) new Board members that are in now in place? I'm more than happy to give these guys a chance to try and put their stamp on things. Who knows, maybe we'll see a drastic, upwards, change in comms, membership numbers, activities etc or maybe they'll be stuck banging their heads off a wall as the old white guys who ran it before are happy to continue not rocking the boat, being yes men to those above and keeping their seat on the Club board nice n comfy.
  6. Oxborough O'Donnell Mugabi Blaney Spencer Gent Slattery Davor Spittal Wilkinson Mika Motherwell 0-1 St. Johnstone. Goodnight Mr Kettlewell.
  7. Fucking yaaaassss! He was, is and always will be a terrible football manager. Stuart McCall got the absolute golden ticket when he was Motherwell manager. The weakest top flight in history (Rangers, Hearts, Hibs all out of the league at points and Aberdeen/Utd varying levels of shite) and a Chief Exec who threw money at the football side in a way that would make John Boyle have a word with himself. His managerial record since the money dried up at Motherwell speaks volumes. He should be embarrassed that he never won a trophy while at Fir Park.
  8. Once again, "VAR" isn't a machine. It's the Video Assistant Referee. There is no "operating it". The Harry Paton incident for Motherwell today showed why I'm losing interest in VAR-led top flight football these days. The referee was 5 yards away from the challenge today. He sees it, gives Dundee a foul and books the Motherwell player. Job done. No Dundee player is screaming in the face of the ref for a red, which is what you'd do if you're convinced. Why is this being re-refereed by a guy in a control room in Glasgow? The on-field referee didn't miss anything, he simply had a different opinion. Going down that road where they're flip flopping over subjective decisions is going to kill the game. Get the whole thing to f**k.
  9. Ending a game with 10 men, and your central midfield pairing is Spittal & Wilkinson. Wee Davor must be absolutely howling. Lose on Tuesday and Kettlewell should be punted.
  10. If Scottish Football continues with VAR, it'll be dead within three seasons. An absolute shambles. Challenge made. Referee is 5 yards away, sees it, penalises the Motherwell player and gives him a yellow card. Job done. Why is the VAR then re-refeering the game? Dundee must be sick after not winning that. They look a relatively decent side. Owen Beck looks a proper player. Regardless of another last minute goal to save his arse, Kettlewell should be out the door if he loses on Tuesday night.
  11. Eric Garcin with a wonder free-kick to put us 3-2 up! Think I'm right in saying that day saw Lee McCulloch score his first Motherwell goal and Dougie Arnott scored his last.
  12. This isn't a Diddyship League game. Irrelevant, IMO. Stick the youth team out.
  13. No chance we could afford to get him back. I'd imagine he'll likely end up at a relatively big club in the North of England where it's easier to commute up and down. Either that or Hibs.
  14. The only time in my life I've ever had a Motherwell player's name & number on the back of my shirt (and I'll be honest lads, I don't see that stat changing) was "Brannan 5" on the 1998-2000 away shirt. He was a player.
  15. As others have said, I want absolutely nothing to do with England at this Euro's. Firstly, they're very, very good and secondly, it'll turn into a circus in the months leading up to it, and we'll lose focus on game against the other sides in the group who will be, likely, closer to us in terms of ability. Basically what happened at Euro 2020 when everyone's focus was on Wembley, and we fucked up a fantastic chance with two games at Hampden. As for the game last night, it certainly felt like your average end of season meaningless game. First half especially. You could tell Clarke had strong words with them at half-time because the first 10/15 minutes of the second half was more like it. Norway clearly targeted our left hand side (quite rightly so as Taylor isn't good enough). I didn't mind McLean & Armstrong as the wide men, though it definitely worked better for me when they appeared on their opposite sides. Only issue with them is the complete lack of pace in the side from midfield forward. I suppose it could work when Robertson & Tierney are back and bombing down the left. Zander Clark showed why he'll never be good enough for international level and it's damning for Liam Kelly as well if Clarke thinks that was the better option of the two. I'd imagine that'll be the last international start Jacob Brown has as well.
  16. "If he was a racehourse, they would be putting up the screens now" That's sensational. That's going in my pocket because I'm damn sure I'll be able to use it on at least one of the jobbers we've got playing for us this season.
  17. I'd say it's debateable. What isn't debateable is that he'd be head and shoulders above any other c**t that we've attempted to play at left wing-back this season.
  18. Hopefully he hated it a wee bit less than being on the dole. Get him signed.
  19. You'd fancy us strongly if we're going with a 5-5-1 and starting with 12 men... From what you've got above, I think (minus Ferguson) that's the starting XI.
  20. Brilliant thread. Since the creation of the Scottish Premiership in 2013/14, the following teams have won 'The Diddyship' title; 2013/14 - Motherwell 2014/15 - Aberdeen 2015/16 - Hearts 2016/17 - Aberdeen 2017/18 - Aberdeen 2018/19 - Kilmarnock 2019/20 - Motherwell 2020/21 - Hibs 2021/22 - Hearts 2022/23 - Aberdeen Will it be a new name on the trophy this season?
