  1. Anyone following the Mike Hoffman story?
Seems to have reached a conclusion with him (and his weirdo girlfriend) being traded to the San Jose Sharks for very little.
He was then forwarded to the Florida Panthers, two hours later with San Jose getting a better return than Ottawa did in the first place [emoji38]

its been a nuts story but it hasn't really been 100% proven it was her yet, and what role Hoffman played in it. However there's been a lot of support for the Karlssons and a lot of people saying they are not surprised by the actions of Hoffman and his girlfriend.

Ottawa are falling apart though. Karlsson should be traded this week; there also should be a bunch of big trades this week leading up to the draft on Friday.
  2. Glory hunter! I was at game 1 of the finals and a game from each of the previous rounds. Watched the game on TSN last game, Texas' "goal" was bizarre, whistle had gone and puck didn't cross the line. I believe in the AHL the refs can only use the overhead camera so not sure what they saw.
They have a net camera that they can use as well as the overhead, people are saying it initially went in at the right side of the net before the scramble but I haven't seen anything that confirms that yet. Great to see the celebrations after too. The video of Dubas lifting the cup was great [emoji38] I will definitely try to catch some more games next season though, on the understanding that I won't get to see a championship win ever time I go haha
  3. Ottawa are turning into the Sevco of the NHL.
Not NHL I know but the Toronto Marlies beat the Texas Stars in game 7 last night to win the AHL Calder Cup. I'm a big fan of the Marlies, compared to the corporate suits world of the Leafs, the Marlies seem more like the people's team, cheap tickets, beautiful arena, down to earth fans. Shame the beer costs the same as the ACC though.
I was there to see the Marlies win! Great game, great goals but was almost let down by the state of the refs in the third, some of the non calls were baffling. Good to see a hockey team in Toronto actually win something.

Looks like we're trying to sign 26 year old Forrest Green winger Elliot Frear this week. Apparently we've had a few bids turned down already and the boy's refused to play this weekend to try and force it through.

    Doing a Payet

He's scored 1 goal in 19 games for Forrest Green in the Conference this season.

and 8 assists too apparently http://www.transfermarkt.com/elliott-frear/leistungsdaten/spieler/135111

  5. Away at Dunfermline around that time is the most I've ever laughed at the football. The Well Bois had gone round every player doing their song, including 2 of the subs who were warming up right in front of us. The 3rd sub was Stuart Carswell who hadn't really played much yet and you could sense everyone wondering what was going to happen for him, before an instinctive chorus of "Song for Stuart Carswell....oh we've no song for Stuart Carswell...". The timing of the whole thing was "had-to-be-there" genius and the 3 subs were absolutely gutting themselves.

On the subject of the Flexi-Ticket, I'm back to a ST this season but for the last two I've had a Flexi-Ticket and it's brilliant if you know you will only make it to a few games. You just take it to the ticket office before kick-off of whatever game you fancy, and they give you a match ticket then delete one game from your account. It's a great idea and works really well.

This definitely happened at East End Park. It was my first motherwell game in 6 years so I remember it well [emoji3] Ojamaa scored a screamer and Higdon got a lucky goal that squeaked under the keeper that day.
  6. Some comeback by Leverkusen against Ausburg today. 3-0 down and took it back to 3-3 with a penalty in the 94th min. They've been very poor in the last few weeks because of injuries to half their team but a good sign that they still have a bit of fight left.
