  1. A suggestion or something you've heard?
  2. I think that if he was to finish top goalscorer in the entire country, you’d have to give it to Morrison tbh.
  3. Thought he got it a wee bit tight when he was here. He wasn’t brilliant, but he was an 18 year old kid signed at the last minute by a panicking Hartley and chucked into an absolutely bogging side. You could see he was quite technically gifted, if a bit raw. Fair play to him.
  4. This is why it’s such a tricky one. It’s all dependant on individual interpretations. I disagree with others in that I think the level you’re at does have to be a factor. It’s why at the start of this conversation I said Morrison is on his way to potentially becoming a legend, but he’s not there yet. Length of time at the club does come into it for me, outwith achievements such as winning a Scottish Cup which would make someone a legend in my eyes. It would be dependant on him doing it for us at a higher level for him to enter that conversation. Going unbeaten in League One would be an incredible achievement no doubt, it would be an season that would live long in the memory, but labelling some players who were good enough to get us out of League One but (potentially, who knows) might not cut it for us long-term, even in the Championship, as ‘ legends’ feels a bit strong for me.
  5. Callumn Morrison is the first player in a LONG time we've had who could potentially reach legend status btw. He's not there yet, but he's already been here for a long time, particularly by modern day football standards. He's been our best player through exceptionally bad times and now good ones. He's scored some absolute pearlers and constantly changes games out of nowhere. The club stuck by him through injuries and now he's sticking by the club, committing for two more years, when he could probably easily have gone elsewhere.. Plus, unless I'm mistaken, he's already in the top 10 list of the clubs all time scorers. Fucking love him.
  6. Absolutely devastated after a comprehensive 4-1 win in front of 5600+ home fans, whilst your mob’s areas have completely collapsed - likely to not even make the playoffs with one of the biggest budgets in the league. All while being managed by one of the mankiest men in Scottish football. Really annoyed mate x
  7. Bisland will be playing League Two next season any bet, he’s so bad man MacIver still looking off it for me. Always reminded of how good business it was getting Morrison signed up, he’s going to be huge next season. Creates stuff out of nothing. He must be top scorer in the league now?
  8. Grouping Doyle and Tumilty with the other two is harsh imo. Tumilty was fine for us in the Championship and Doyle was also okay in a team that would probably have scraped promotion under better management (and the absence of a pandemic...). Covid at least spared us from having to see Mercer in the flesh, on stream was bad enough. Ryan Williamson was, well... Ryan Williamson. Giving it large to the KM, only for Morrison to pop one in from 30 yards in 90+4, is defo a highlight of the season.
  9. I did have Oliver down as a test of how ruthless McGlynn was going to be tbh. But, aye, it does give me ‘out of loyalty’ vibes. As I said, there’s no doubt he’s a talented footballer, but I do think a lot the ‘Gary Goals’ stuff is recency bias covering up the fact he’s played little more than a bit part this season, and when he did play more last season, it was in a team that was ultimately miles off it. He was out of position a lot of that time to be fair. I just don’t imagine he’d have had many offers in the Championship if we hadn’t kept him, but I may be wrong. Again, I’m not exactly foaming at the mouth about it, but I think we’ll need better next season.
  10. Hmm. I get the continuity thing and he’s been a useful player, but he’s one that I don’t think has ever really stood out at League One level and I can’t help but think it’s a wage who could have gone on someone a bit better tbh. Not too fussed as he has his uses but … meh.
  11. Am I right that we haven’t worn the heritage kit since Edinburgh away?
  12. I know it’s not much of an issue but I’m bored at work. If it’s 20 or so medals, it shouldn’t be an issue. Can identity 22 who can probably feel they have contributed enough to warrant one. Hogarth, Long Yeats, Donaldson, Lang, McCann, Mackie, Bisland Tait, McGinn, Nesbitt, Agyeman, Spencer, Henderson, Ross, Morrison, Miller, Lawal MacIver, Allan, Shanley, Oliver Hangers on like McKay who only came off the bench twice might get one too as well as the young boys who made one or two sub appreances too. But shouldn’t be tricky.
  13. The Council and the Kremlin hand in hand imo
  14. Icon tbh. Agree as above, he'll be leaving at the end of the season, likely back down to England, with a league winners medal and everyones best wishes.
  15. I do think there definitely needs to be a higher standard enforced on artificial pitches - it's often referenced how Kilmarnock's and Livingston's pass the test of suitability, which is baffling considering both have been absolutely dire even since the day they got put down. However, outright banning them is emblematic of the reactionary nature in which football is governed in Scotland. Of course everyone wants to play on grass, but are you telling me that a game on our pitch isn't better to watch than some of the bobbly cow fields and mud patches that you often see, even in the top league? Behave.
  16. Was having a wee think the other day that 2011/12 Farid would legitimately be on about 35 goals in this team given the number of crosses we put in the box.
  17. Thought McGinn was far from the worst when we were going through our sticky spell tbh. Still wouldn’t have started him but I thought he was fine again.
  18. Heavy Paul Sheerin vibes from Bartley. Probably a decent coach but absolutely not cut out to be a manager. At least we sacked Cones after less than half a season.
