  1. Fair doo's you have consistently sounded like a decent fan. The spitting on fans below is thing that away fans is something that away fans are consistently complaining about so I believe it must be a regular occurrence. Cannot believe that those responsible for security at Ibrox (the club, police and stewards) allow it to happen when great lengths at other ground like Easter Road are taken to avoid such disgusting behaviour.
  2. I think wmm was talking about a noisy unpleasant section of your support and not you personally. It would be helpful the cause of the club you support if there was fewer violent thugs. Maybe if there was greater condemnation from the decent supporters like yourself would help to reduce the influence of brickthrowers. If my teams supporters were throwing bricks at another teams buses I like to think I would be shouting them down and helping the police identify the scumbags. I have seen the power of fan condemnation of anti social behaviour from a few knuckledraggers that every club has to help nip it in the bud As for spitting on away fans this could be stopped instantly. Whenever opposing fans are above another team in every other club no one is not allowed to go in the front couple of rows, If Ibrox was packed to the gunnel's the club/ police/ stewards may have an excuse (though not a good one) but this is not the case. It is outrageous in this day in age to decide whether you want to be a guest at an away ground based on the risk of being spat at from a high height.
  3. I really hope I am wrong but with all these sudden possible investors in the Ibrox based club could be able to engage in their usual plunder of top players (at least until they go to Govan). Hopefully the teams challenging Celtic at the moment will be left alone. I know clubs are rarely given transfer fees now but outbidding clubs on wages amount to the same greedy concept of buying success. If they are able to do this then hopefully the best players will have more sense and stay put. I know the consensus on here is they are in big trouble but I will only believe it if they for once do not do their plundering.
  4. Thanks Flyingrodent, just that it really would be a first if there was not the usual transfer window plunder and if so they really must be in trouble. They usually find money from somewhere just like poverty stricken debt ridden parents at xmas.
  5. Do you not currently have the second best paid set of players in Scottish Football and was this not the case also the situation soon after liquidtion when players like Shiels, Black etc were bought and then last seasonZaliiukas, Bell, Boyd and Miller. What team apart from Celtic pays more for their playing staff? Your just winding me up aren't you, you bad man? I take it Bennett that you think Ranger will not get any new players in the Transfer window
  6. Sorry if I asked a daft question, I take it that everyone thinks The Rangers are is such bad shape that they will definitely not buy anyone at all to replace McLeod and we can take from this that they really are fecked. The first time they were liquidated they somehow managed to buy the second most expensive squad in Scottish football by some considerable margin - so sorry if I am a bit thick and or confused. Anyone prepared to predict what they will do in the transfer window? An earlier poster did suggest they might get some journeymen types. Is that the consensus?
  7. A lot of excellent posts helping lay people like me have some understanding of what is going on and what the future is for the Govan based team. Every year I can remember, as a 50 year old football fan, the team that plays at G51 2XD buys some of the best players from rival clubs (or at least they were good when they were with their original clubs). Would it be fair to estimate the true state of Govan team by what they do in the transfer window to replace McLeod? From this thread P&B posters are quoting from Rangersmedia fans enthusiastically speculating about the usual warchest and spending their way to success (trying to anyway). Other posters are speculating about the imminent second Administration or even Liquidation. Will what Sevco do on the transfer front help us in anyway with what the current prospects are for said club?
  8. How do you know that they were equally interested in hoping Rangers got beat? Many supporters in England want to know the Man U or Chelsea scores but often for negative reasons. If you went to many Raith Rovers games as a well known Rangers supporter then anyone the game who had some kind of interest in Rangers would have known that you were the guy to get info about the Rangers game. Someone else who like Raith Rovers and went to the catholic school may have looked out for the Celtic score and smiler minded folk would have asked him.
  9. I am 50 and went to games in the 70s and I honestly cannot confirm on contradict what you say: all I know now is that the big cheers at half time are now if one of the OF or your local rivals get beat or are losing at half time. The very fact people care enough to boo when one of the OF loses maybe contradicts some of what I have previously said but kind of backs up the rest of the not liking the OF.
  10. For years we have been lead to believe by the media and the big two that only two teams matter in Scottish football and that all other supporters have as much interest with one of the old firm and must come down on one side or the other. It is a boring cliché that really annoy's some many fan's of non OF teams. Most of us are only interested in our own team It is where a lot of the hatred towards your clubs stems from that maybe we can be taken a bit more serious now at least the OF mafia is only half as strong as it once was. The other reason is OF buying our best players whenever we put up any kind of challenge. We will see if Rangers (January transfer window) despite all her financial woes still manages to somehow buy our best player and then put them on the bench the way they have done for decades. If they don't this year they really are in trouble and it will be the first year in living memory.
  11. I imagine one or two Rangers fans might have gone to Firhill when their team was away from home and one or two Celtic fans would have done likewise. I think the same could be said for many teams in the central belt and further afield. Does not mean that any of these clubs are tainted with associating with one of the old firm. Neutrals who love football go to games occasional where the team they support is not playing.
  12. A win win situation, the supporters of the team currently called Rangers would hopefully get rid of the spivs and parasites that run their club and the overpaid players who are poor value for money. Those same fans would get an exciting end to the season it happens soon to see if their young team can stave of relegation. The rest of us would enjoy eating the popcorn and enjoy watching them fight to retain dignity and stay in the league: whilst hoping they don't but nevertheless respecting them a bit more regardless.
  13. Traynor is an idiot.. Rangers and their fans would never have agreed to SPL with three seasons 25 point deduction and half home gate money to other SPL clubs to stay in the SPL. He is a buffoon.
  14. This is such a good point that I am answering it so that it does not get lost in the huge amount of traffic on this thread. It is obvious that McCoist is not interested in logic or reasoning but basically has an agenda to intimidate and bully to try and protect the interests of his club regardless of consistency
  15. What a brilliant composition. What result did you get in your English Higher? Are you good at sums too?
  16. In the ideal world for moral consistency, The Rangers should be applying for entry to SFL3. If we are all honest who amongst would have thought a couple of months ago that Rangers in some form would not be in the SPL? This is a trememdous achievement for fan forums like this and the power of the fan threatening to boycott season tickets The Rangers would at least get a half decent punishment. Lets now get on with supporting our team. This whole mess is not the fault of the other SPL clubs and if there has to be some klind of compromise further down for financial reasons let the SFL clubs decide what is best for them. They do not have to take the million pounds. We may have to get our hands slighlty dirty only because Scottish football is in such a mess. But lets not make thing worse for our own clubs We have done our bit. We achieved something not inconsiderable
  17. Many Rangers fans are saying that the newco will keep the Rangers history as the club remains and they are just a new company. If that is the case why is there no longer an Airdrieonians? Please advise. Surely Airdrie fans would just have been as passionate as Rangers fans in trying to keep their identity?
  18. Hope it is Hibs, but great day for Scottish Football, I hope botht teams make city proud Filmed in Portobello
  19. great day for the city. one half will be dancing like this Edinburgh band early this evening
  20. great day for the city. one half will be dancing like this Edinburgh band early this evening
  21. I never have a McDonalds and only bet on the occaisional Grand National. I think I will have a hppy meal for lunch and put a line on at William Hills. If there sales are actually boosted over the next few weeks that would really piss the Rangers boycotters off
