  1. I’d be interested to know why Celtic didn’t use cappielow?
  2. 7 non Scots in the old firm starting line ups yesterday. You’d have thought the lowland league would have insisted on a limit on foreigners if this was about helping Scottish youth develop.
  3. My reading was if Kelty had failed to win promotion, then the deal would have have been off as they wouldn’t have run with 19 teams. it seemed to me that the whole sordid scenario only came up after It became apparent there would be a pyramid play off.
  4. Very much so - George Fraser (the good one, not the evil twin) gave a very good interview on BBC Scotland on the subject.
  5. It’s a bit amateur accepting teams into a licenced league without clarity on where they will play. Presumably it will be a licenced ground. I’m sure it’s not a secret, but I’d guess it’s grass pitches so as per previous posts it’s possible it will be cappielowe for Celtic and Somerset for Rangers. Are there many grass licenced grounds in Glasgow? Lesser Hampden I suppose is another.
  6. As far as I know it didn’t fail - it was moot because the question never arose as Brechin weren’t relegated. That is, the clubs didn’t have a vote on the live issue.
  7. I agree with this. the juniors only have themselves to blame, but there’s 4 clubs in the lowland who are around ten years old or less. They have an uncomfortable amount of influence over the rest of the pyramid. Without those 4 clubs voting in favour of the colts proposal it would never have passed.
  8. That's what I'd be interested in hearing.

Thanks for that. it doesn’t take a genius to look at the BSC Alloa team to see that most? Virtually all of them were full time up to the age of 21 so progression prospects for the development team are grim. Wonder if that team will move to BSC Originals

So where do BSC Lowland League Development side fit in? are they part of BSC Glasgow the book, or part of BSC Glasgow the movie?
  11. Stiffed by East Kilbride for a place in the league cup. the lowland league management are making it up as they go along
  12. Aren’t all the Brechin players from the glasgow area and central belt? They’ll all be getting punted/moved on if Brechin lose. Brechin results have been much tighter recently, I think Kelty will find it tougher than they think.
  13. Having had the chance to reflect on this, I can’t understand this one bit: “This is a one year pilot project” so at the end of year, it’s been a success and Lowland board decide to make it permanent. but the problem is that the league has 18 - maybe 19! - clubs. so to take it back to 16 you might need to relegate 3 extra clubs. so presumably at that point VOL, Gretna, Cumbernauld, Caley Braves don’t vote to continue experiment as they would be voting to relegate themselves. that couldn’t happen could it?
  14. Come a years time, and its another vote whether to keep the old firm colts and go to 16 teams, I think there will be considerable squealing from those extra clubs relegated.
  15. I don't suppose the lowland league have thought to ask Rangers and Celtic what their plan is for the following season? The lowland league will look incredibly stupid if Rangers and Celtic Colts attempt to gain a League 2 place on the back of this, denying places to lowland league sides.
  16. I hope there’s now moves at the AGM to put forward a vote of no confidence in the management of the Lowland League. It will clearly fail at this point, but it will be the precursor to revisit this horrendous failure.
  17. So it would be £6K ish? I suspect there may be a few sweeteners available to get some clubs across the line tonight.
  18. If there was 50k forthcoming from each of Rangers and Celtic 100k/16 = 6.25K Tickets as well, 200 at £8, £3200 £10K Worth less than a game in the Scottish. Whereas, Rangers and Celtic could probably swallow the cost into some TV offering. I did my own guess and I thought, 5 clubs might vote against, with 12 for the proposal. I suspect it will be approved tonight - I hope I am wrong.
  19. On our journey, we've received a lot of fair treatment from the EOSFL. You can't then dump all over them for the sake of some silver. Makes you no better than a two bit hoor.
  20. Thanks. This is screaming conflict of interest to me.
  21. Anyone know of or seen the Scottish Football Innovation paper?

  23. From what I can tell, most of the top half of the LL were full time up to the age of 21. So, I think you're right - a lot of them will be playing LL and below in 5 years time.
  24. I'd expect the LL rules as they stand only permit promotion from the winners of a play off of SOSL v EOSL v WOSL - so it would take a rule change to push this through. It would be reasonable to expect the LL to enter in discussions with their stakeholders in the feeder leagues too? Really disappointing behaviour from what has been normally a very well run league.
