I sincerely hope you’re wrong, but fear you could be correct. The pyramid is hard enough for clubs like your own, with ambition. This will make it not only more difficult to progress, but force Linlithgow Rose etc, to play in a league where a third of the games are not competitive or fair, depending on which B Team is put out on a given week. There is no sporting integrity in this proposal
-
The silence from virtually every boardroom above League 2 is deafening. Other than Livingston, who appear to be openly opposed, virtually every other club has made no statement on this issue. The clubs must be aware of their own fans views on this. In the interest of sporting integrity they MUST oppose the proposal and if not, explain why. I haven’t heard any coherent argument in support of this farce

Frankly that poll is pretty remarkable given the sustained witch hunt against the SNP in the last few months. Despite this, that poll still suggests 44 SNP MP’s. Sir Manofthepeople possibly on 9 Scottish MPs is still pathetic.

I think this is a real test for our clubs. At the D Day Meeting, Maxwell has said that if the proposal is rejected, the SFA will impose it anyway. The threat being that clubs will be invited and not on merit. If this happens, in an ideal world, every club approached should tell Maxwell and Doncaster to do one. Of course, some would jump at the chance of cash and these clubs should be boycotted by everyone else. The present pyramid is not perfect, but it is slowly moving ambitious clubs upwards. Interesting times ahead and if only the late Raith Rovers chairman was still here. It’s like 2012 Armageddon all over again
-
Apart from all the obvious bull**** that Maxwell has spouted about this, the end game is crystal clear. in 5 years time when Scotland under 19’s still haven’t qualified for anything, they will come back saying that it is because the bigot B Teams are not in The Championship. This must be stopped now

Is Finlayson still with us? No idea how he did/is doing in Northern Ireland or has he been released? -
Sorry for any club relegated. But all clubs will find their level, that’s what the pyramid is for. Enjoy your time next year playing clubs that you’ve never played before and maybe you’ll return in the future, better for the experience. I know a couple of Rovers fans and that’s their attitude. However, you should be emailing your club to ensure that they vote against this ridiculous Conference League

Celtic v St Mirren May 20.

That just makes me feel dirty! -
Congratulations Spartans. Fully deserved

After today’s result in Coatbridge, there are now East Stirling, Albion Rovers, Berwick Rangers and Cowdenbeath in the Lowland League. Surely this will put an end to any notion that Lowland League clubs will support this? If the proposal is that 4 LL teams would join the Conference, why would anyone support a proposal to leave themselves 2 divisions below League 2?

Was anything raised about this ridiculous Conference League proposal? I assume St Mirren will vote against? -

John Beaton X1 v Aberdeen

Wouldn’t you like to know -
No they won’t Rateofknots! St Mirren and Motherwell will definitely vote NO to this abomination. I can also predict that Kilmarnock, Hibs and Livingston will be opposed. Don’t know about the rest but if their fans are anything to go by, there is no support from the top league for this
-
Lovely to not be involved for a change. Good luck to all of them, except Livingston! Unfortunately they’re safe for another year
-
So, despite the U.K. state sponsored sustained media attacks, for weeks against the SNP and independence in general, Scottish Labour have barely increased support. Maybe if they had some non Tory policies it would help? I know, what am I thinking
-
It certainly is not 99% certain. I would suggest it is 99% NOT going to be allowed. Rightly so. The pyramid should have been an opportunity for all clubs to find their level. Some have overcome the obstacles and climbed, while others have slipped into the HL and LL. That’s what it was designed to achieve. Maxwell and his old firm paymasters can threaten all they like, but B Teams being allowed into League 2 and League 1? That is in no one’s interests. When Rangers died, Doncaster claimed it would be Armageddon if the new club Sevco were not allowed to go straight into The Championship. Fortunately enough club chairmen ignored the veiled threats and refused them. The same will happen to any proposal regarding B Teams. Give me ONE coherent reason for this idea that benefits anyone other than Rangers/Celtic?
-
If that is the case, then how can they enforce relegation from league 2?
-
Why though? Maxwell et al have given no coherent reason for this that stands up to any scrutiny
-
Exactly. Albion Rovers needing a result at Aberdeen Colts on the last day ofthe season. I’d imagine that would a mouthwatering prospect!
-
Nice trolling attempt Edinabear!
-
I just don’t get the agenda here at all. The bulls*** about boosting young players for future internationals is so transparently nonsense. I could understand the bigot brothers wanting B Teams in the Championship, although that is never going to happen, rightly so, but against part time players? How does that help development? This whole thing stinks. Since no journalist can be bothered trying to investigate this fraud, maybe the View From The Terrace boys should invite Maxwell on to explain what his agenda is.
-
Surely any attempt to shoehorn the new 5th division would need all league clubs to vote for it? If so, I’m sure St Mirren will vote against
