  1. Don't think it will be relevant in this game, you should win at a canter all things considered. We've got a great work ethic and team spirit, and we've been difficult to beat to say the least. Only one defeat in 2023 so far, and that was a meaningless end of season game away at Albion Rovers on the last day of the season. Not many weaknesses apart from the usual part time stuff, ie I would expect you guys to be miles fitter, and quicker. If we catch you on a real off day like we did with St Johnstone in Perth, there's always a slim chance, but I don't see a closer scoreline than 3-0 to the Dons on Friday night. It'll be good to have a (near) full stadium again though, particularly under the lights.
  2. Our Under 18s run ragged by EK tonight, and 3-0 flattered us. A disgrace to charge £13 admission for that especially if they'd discussed with DY about what team he was thinking of playing. Think they had close to 30 goal attempts tonight, a combination of poor finishing and excellent goalkeeping kept the score down.
  3. Awful game yesterday but delighted with the 3 points of course. Well, that's my summary of the game, because little else to say about it. The day out was better, lots of drink consumed before and after, good day had by all. And we're above Lolkirk in the league. I know it won't last, but I have the table imprinted on my brain. 5 wins in a row!
  4. Johnny Brogan and Jimmy Ormond scored that day. The latter was at the game last week and has purchased a season ticket for this season!! Crowd of 1266 that day. You really need to get the Albion online book, gives all scores, scorers and line ups for every game in our history. I'll DM you.
  5. I'd be delighted with a point tomorrow given the injuries we have. Will be a hard game. We've only lost one game in 2023 so far, so we are hard to beat, but Alloa have League 1 street smarts, gonna be a tough yin.
  6. Of course, there's never a good time to lose to Alloa, but looking back in retrospect, the defeat at the Recs in 2010 that put us 15 points behind them and the home players celebrating in the dressing room as if they'd won the league made things all the more sweeter a couple of months later when we pipped them for the title. I think Alloa beat us in all four games that season, which is even better! So for that reason, it's the only time I've been pleased to lose to Alloa, albeit that pleasure didn't come until much later.
  7. Exactly the same. We absolutely destroyed them in the first half. It's just a shame none of the players or staff remained from the 7-0 embarrassment as they would have geed the team up to keep going. 5-0 was still a decent score against them, mind, but it could have been so much better.
  8. Mark Bradley, who actually signed for us after that game. An unremarkable midfield player, think he only played about 7 games for us in total. Later played for Cowdenbeath and Dumbarton, and I think managed Linlithgow Rose at one point.
  9. To me it was only 3-0 as I left at that point
  10. Soccerbase. Excellent site, every result going way back in time, and all line ups and scorers for every game from about 1997 onwards. Word of warning, once you've worked out how to navigate it, prepare to be lost for hours.
  11. Behind the goals at Ochilview is a hundred times better than anywhere at the Recs - It's the one away venue I'm really going to miss this season. Dale Carrick's last gasp winner there last season, and the scenes that followed will live with me for a long, long time. Of course, none of this means I would ever consider boycotting the Recs because of it, its good to have these derbies back again.
  12. 1. Falkirk (grudgingly) 2. Hamilton 3. QOS 4. Cove Rangers 5. Stirling Albion 6. Alloa 7. Montrose 8. Kelty 9. Annan 10. Edinburgh City I think it might be the tighest points gap ever between 5th-10th this season, there's very little to separate all six teams. Hopefully, due to the fact we have a settled side and an excellent manager, we can finish top of that section, although to be honest, 8th place would do me just fine. Our game today at home to Edinburgh might actually be a good barometer as to where we actually are, as the LC campaign can sometimes be misleading. Alloa and Montrose have both been in this league a while now, so will have that savvy element. Its a nightmare trying to predict this! As for the top 4, pretty nailed on given the full time status of the four sides I reckon, and I can't see Falkirk making an arse of it again, as hilarious as that would be. Would actually like to see QOS win the league as always had a soft spot for the Doonhamers.
  13. His maw was the top Albion Milf of the time as well
  14. Active Stirling are such vindictive b*****ds, they'd be just as likely to bulldoze both sets of terracing down than fix them if we tried to put any pressure on them. It's shite not having your own stadium.
  15. The biggest positive change has been the removal of the regionalisation aspect, as this was making it quite stale, given we were drawing a few of the same teams year after year. It also irked me that we were included in the Northern section, although I understand why. Playing against Ayr this year, for example, was a refreshing change.
  16. That is annoying, but putting the big teams into the group stages would mean far less chance of a smaller side like ourselves progressing once in a while. That said, I don't really get the European angle as to why the top sides get a bye into the knockout stages. This year, for example, only Hibs have been involved in Europe during the group stages, and even then, it was only their first leg. But I do like the way it is at the moment, despite how comfortable it is for the sides in Europe.
  17. Personally, I like the group system as it is. Prior to the reintroduction of the group stages, diddy clubs like mine would be lucky to have a couple of games in the tournament, now we're guaranteed at least four every season, including one against a Prem side on most occasions. Also, there's the excitement like there was at the weekend with all the different permutations for getting through. Gets a thumbs up from me.
  18. Would Aberdeen fill the three sides of the ground given the game is now on a Friday night?
  19. Losing out on potential revenue because there is Highland Games happening in and around Forthbank on the Saturday (Which is why the league game that day was away to Falkirk). The most diddy of diddy reasons to have a game moved. You would have thought with it being moved to Friday night that Viaplay would have chosen our game as one to cover, but no, a yawn inducing Rangers v Morton clash is apparently more appealing.
  20. As a supporter of a club not used to being at this stage of the LC, when is the announcement usually made about which games will be televised?
  21. Mad to think if we had drawn at Perth and won the shootout, it wouldn't have been enough, despite being unbeaten in the group. Good job we thrashed them then
