  1. while we are on the subject of expensive whisky. i was in the whisky shop in glasgow earlier on in the year and was shooting the breeze talking to the guy that works there and he told me that they sourced and sold 2 bottles of malt to a customer, didn't say where. the price of the two bottles combined was round about 25 grand. a security company were delivering it to the address. mental eh, most folk are struggling at the moment with money and someone is spending that on drink, oh well if you can afford it....

  2. The Whisky Exchange website is very good. Just remember there is a delivery charge to go on top of your order, but even with that it is often cheaper than other sites or shops.

I think the most I have ever paid for a Malt was about £70 for a 23 yo Highland Park I bought for my Dad's 65th birthday in the year 2000.

For myself I don't think I have ever spent more than £40-45 per bottle on the like of Ardbeg 10 yo, Lagavulin 16 yo and Glenlivet 18 yo. All good whiskies.

indeed you are right cammy me old son, there is a delivery charge, i forgot to say that, i think i have never been above a fiver for delivery,

i only ever get the dear stuff if i am getting some for my birthday or some special occasion, the wife gives me £100 for my birthdays so that tends to go on whisky. for the 30th last year she got me a bottle of Glenlivet 21yo archive, it was a bit dearer but i'm worth itlaugh.gif

yeh the whisky's you mention are all the types that i would buy, never tried the 23yo highland park right enough. but i generally like highland park anyway so i'll just presume that i like it in any case

  3. I am quite partial to Auchentoshan. It was the first whisky that I was bought because it does not melt your tastebuds, as do most spirits if you are not used to them. So I like the Auchentoshan classic. I have a great bottle of Auchentoshan 3 wood, its matured in 3 different casks and gives it a real nice woody taste. Lovely. Others I am very keen on are Laphroaig and Lagavulin. Both are rather peaty/smoky. I have heard ardberg tastes quite nice but I have yet to try it. Jura 10yr is ok but Jura 16 tastes lovely. Has anyone ever ordered some off this place? The seem quite good.

i buy whisky from the whisky exchange, i find them on of the better priced internet retailers, they have a really good range. as a matter of fact i bought this http://www.thewhiskyexchange.com/P-16348.aspx only a couple of weeks ago from them. quick delivery too

i forgot i created this thread, to busy talking pish in other threads i supposebiggrin.gif. anyway has anyone tried the arran malt? i have never tried arran whisky but was thinking about getting a couple of bottles, in the main they are reasonably priced. was looking for something different

http://www.arranwhisky.com/ShopHome/ a wee link to their website for anyone interested

  4. Right, for weeks I've been holding back in case someone called me a thick twat (or maybe I remembered wrong), but in that Newsnight report I've seen they actually have "1873" as their date on the wall at ibrox, and I'm sure it used to be on the badge or crest. I know they're nouveau riche arrivistes, but I was damn' sure they didn't have 140 years under their belt. Why the sudden "1872" malarkey since HMRC called shenanigans on them? Does 140 really sound that much more than 139? If so, I've got a tower in Paris I'd like to sell for £19,999.995......

Good luck with the soccerball, Bill! Can't wait to see your reaction when you've applied for a passport and come over to Scotchland for a closer look....

Chasing the US market? So, how big a parade does New York have on the 12th July? And the MLS core demographic is quite heavily Latino-orientated - many lodges in Puerto Rico and Mexico?

Ye gods, I can see this ending badly/superbly*

  5. He still has a very big role to play. The SPL and SFA must be under no illusions as to the backlash if they even attempt to wave through a Rangers Newco: pressure by fans' representatives, to club chairmen, and also outside scrutiny. Thomson should be in a position to take them to the cleaners.

agreed, this guy is the only guy how says it how it is, he has no agenda, he is far enough away from the scottish media bubble that he need not tow the party line. a very dangerous journo for the established order up here and will out anybody seen as being sympathetic to them. the sfa, spl and whoever else who are looking to get an easy ride pushing the newco in should be worried, as you say the backlash will be huge, i won't be surprised if he wakes up one morning with a horses head in his bed.

  6. watched the C4 report with alex thompson there, brilliant, it just shows how good journalism in regards to this situation can be when you don't make deals with the devil, i was waiting for chick and his weegie media pals coming into the background with the torches and pitchforks for a good'ol lynching

one criticism from me is that he gets one point wrong. there will be no such thing as a shinny new rangers, the old adage that "you can't polish a turd" is so apt in this situation that it aint real.

i want my fucking £20 back rangers you robbing b*****ds!!!!!. and so does my wife and weans

  7. http://www.bbc.co.uk...otball/17900130

It must be true because Chick 'I Can Exclusively Reveal' Young is admitting it is liquidation time

just read that chick young blog, it's never about anything other than the Old Firm with the media in this country is it. when these fuckers die so does the Old Firm which has been a noose round the rest of our necks for the best part of 100 years. i for one will be raising a glass, so hurry up Rangers, i'm parched

  8. Unless you genuinely cut the mustard as a prodi, caffolic hating bigot, you'll get foond oot soon enuf and called a ta*g or worse. If you can cut the mustard, then fook off to them and stop pretending to be a Killie fan.

went to log on there and they have kicked me out before my first post, never even got past the front door, they must be edgy. guess its back to being a killie fan.

  9. OK Guys and Gals, Newbie here . Not an internet virgin, but a P & B Posting virgin, so please be gentle.

My username hints at my leanings, and have been following my team since the late 60's. Ithought i had witnessed a lot in my long time on this earth, but i have to say this thread has been a revelation to me.

Never before have i seen such a coming together, and general group huggedness by such a broad spectrum of football lovers in this country. It is quite staggering that the ugly sister in the blue dress has managed to unite so many diferent factions.

Anyway, for my first post i would just like to say :

Rangers have come out from between the buttocks of scottish football and pebbledashed the porcelain. They have created such a stench that everyone else is disgusted with them. Everyone now want to dump on them, BUT NOBODY WANT TO FLUSH. (Ge...t the picture). At the end of this whole mess, the porcelain of Scottish football must be so clean, you could eat your dinner off it. Which is why they must be flushed, flushed and flushed again until football in this country is clean again. RANT OVER.

i like the cut of your jib newbie, anyone who likes a clean toilet is a good guy in my eyes.

    buttockslaugh.giflaugh.gif

your right flush them, pick up the stinking b*****d by the end of the thumb and forefinger , and drop it's filthy rotten carcass down the bog and flush it away, the way you would a dead goldfish.

  10. So what is the fvcking government doing about it after all their posturing about eliminating sectarianism and violence from Scottish football? Of course it's all okay as they're just threatening to kill these people, not singing songs about the IRA or the UDA. McCoist should be charged with incitement to murder for what he said. If he didn't realise this would make the cretins seek out the names of the people involved and threaten them then he is fvcking brain-dead.

i think we are at a point now where the tension is so great that the scum element will do and believe what they like, a government intervention will not diffuse this situation, i dread to think what is going to happen when they die. if the SFA didn't have a grudge against them before they sure as f**k will have one now. the gutter press should be interesting tomorrow

  11. threats eh, can't say im surprised, it was only a matter of time before the mask slipped and some of them cracked. this is getting nasty. we have went from the defiant we don't do walking away rhetoric which was their dignified attempt to stand by their club to outright intimidation, threatening individuals that are only doing their jobs. their manager has played a big part in initiating these threats. this disgusting bunch have been whipped into a frenzy by the weggie media, giving column space to hately and goram etc, who are pedaling some amount of shite which is being hoovered up by their followers, talks of war (ffs its fitba) and going down the sympathetic "its all the SFA's fault, they are killing the club" route just to sell papers. don't get me started on the pish that has come out the radio.

they need putting out their misery, and fast before someone gets hurt or worse.

  12. The only downside to registering with the vermin is that it may give their site more ad revenue due to an increase in hits and members......

........worth it for the giggles imo :)

you would need to make sure it wasn't to obvious that you were just there for shits and gigs, but i'm sure that most of them could be manipulated in some way. that forum doesn't need much of a spark to set the whole thing off.

  13. I think my account has been removed already. Disappointing. I will move home later today and settle in Govan for the foreseeable future so that they accept my IP address.

In hindsight, choosing the username 'HunnyBear' was maybe a bad idea.

i think we should all try and have a go at infiltrating RM, we could try the old divide and conquer tactic, play them off against each other. "here BillyBear i heard that Loyalist1690 is going about saying he's pumped yur bird". and "here lads a seen Redhand Rab oan Sunday comin oot the pope shoap, he's wan o' them" that sort of thing

  14. A poster on rangers media has put a link up for a survey he's created.

    http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/6XXLV85

Perhaps a sabotaging of this from posters on here? ph34r.gif

just had a look through that survey, i can imagine vauxhall, adidas and carling will be shitting their pants at the prospect of a rangers fans boycott. you would struggle to make this stuff up if you were not a Rangers fan. quality, everyday throws us wee gems like this. don't know how i will fill my life when they are gone

and one of the questions about attending cup matches doesn't give a yes option for attending matches outwith ibrox, i call shenanigans
