  1. Quite a few of the Inverness & District Amateur games will be at Culloden Playing Fields. The league isn't the best at promoting fixtures and results, Facebook usually your best bet. Further east of Inverness, you start to break into North Junior territory, Nairn Saints being the nearest team. Don't forget the Highland League, either.
  2. ...and Fort William are in them! First game Claggan Park (mower and lines dependent) 20th August 1400 v Golspie
  3. Hall Russell United have gone into abeyance, seems ominous. Dufftown have been promoted.
  4. Making ground ownership a requirement would exclude a huge number of clubs at practically all levels in Scotland. Most leagues seem to have rules about access to a ground and security of tenure if it's leased, which doesn't seem unreasonable.
  5. It'll depend who's playing. Normally an SPFL or HFL ground depending on availability.
  6. Quarter Finals (on or around 16th July) IRN Security v Wick Groats Golspie Stafford v High Ormlie Hotspur Ness v Avoch Stromness Athletic v Pentland Utd
  7. Quarter Finals (on or around 16th July) IRN Security v Wick Groats Golspie Stafford v High Ormlie Hotspur Ness v Avoch Stromness Athletic v Pentland Utd

  9. My prediction of a Groats v Stabs final still on the cards... Third Round Friday 24th June 1900 Ness 5-1 Carloway (Fivepenny) Saturday 25th June 1100 Iochdar Saints 0-4 High Ormlie Hotspur (Culbokie Park) 1200 Stromness Athletic 5-2 Wick Thistle (Market Green) 1300 Avoch 2-1 Kirkwall Hotspurs (Coronation Park) 1500 Black Rock Rovers 2-5 Golspie Stafford (Culcairn Park) 1500 IRN Security 3-0 (aet) Sleat & Strath (Cromal Park) 1500 Pentland Utd 5-0 Lairg Rovers (Back Park) 1500 Wick Groats 2-0 Staxigoe Utd (Upper Bignold)
  10. The NCL have announced that their champion club will gain entry to the Scottish Cup. Invergordon will enter this coming season. Excellent news and brings the NCL in line with the other Tier 6 leagues.
  11. Obviously Fort never had any intention to go through with an appeal (just like the playoff) given there were absolutely no grounds. Of course there was going to be a bond to be lodged, they must've known this. Just another attempt to spin this as the big bad Scottish football authorities having it in for plucky wee Fort William.

  14. The official line is that Banks o' Dee Junior FC are a new and separate club. Who happen to play at Spain Park in the same colours as Banks o' Dee FC. Players will have to be transferred between clubs as normal. They won't be registered for both teams. I'm not sure if that was the same set up Spartans had when their B team Juniors played in the ERJFA.
  15. Yes, this is the case. Banks o' Dee Juniors admitted (absolutely not the same as Banks o' Dee B...)
  16. Inverness & District alternated between Amateur and Welfare depending on what suited them at the time...
  17. There's an AC Mill Inn in the Aberdeenshire Amateurs
  18. I'd like to say I'm surprised, but this felt very inevitable. I'm not sure why the folk involved feel the need to set up a new club (other than ego) when there are plenty of local clubs who would welcome new blood onto committees and players into squads.
  19. What an absolute shambles of a league. Integrity and fairness out the window. 8-8 tie apparently, with chairman giving casting vote. Stinks of hypocrisy and nepotism.
  20. Into the Lowland League's bank account to do with as they please. No guarantees it will be shared amongst clubs or used as prize money.
  21. Alness have lights at the (new) Dalmore Park. As 3G pitches in cages go, it's one of the better ones.
  22. Yup. Their chairman and internet fans have an interesting interpretation of events. Even if Fort did have a case, they withdrew voluntarily from the playoff, if they were so sure of themselves, they should've played under protest. But it was all a conspiracy to get the Fort down by the evil Highland League, under the ruthless rule of @RH33's dad.
  23. *Fort William subject to outcome of appeal
  24. Yeah, if you can get to Lewis, that's the best option and by far the best ground. It's unlikely any of the other games will be played on anything resembling an enclosed ground. Saying that, Coronation Park in Avoch is a decent "public park" venue. I wouldn't imagine any of the neutral venues will be anywhere particularly enticing, but never know. I'd probably be tempted to head up to Caithness for the weekend, Groats v Staxigoe a key game, or Dunnet for Pentland United. It's a great place to explore as well.
