  1. By all accounts Craig Molloy is heading to Stirling. He's been a great servant to Brechin and would be an excellent signing in league 2. Has been struggling to get into the side due to the form of James Dale but still gutted he is on his way.
  2. Scott Shepherd has signed for Brechin on loan, thoughts?
  3. We've already got defensive midfielders in abundance! It's attacking midfielders we're in dire need of. Hopefully he comes in and does well.
  4. Thoughts on Lewis Spence guys? Signed for Brechin on loan (eventually!). What type of player is he?
  5. Must say I was a little apprehensive when we signed Bates on loan however he has done very well for us. The first 5/6 games he was faultless but last few matches he's had a few lapses in concentration, which is to be expected from a 19 year old. With the right guidance and training he could have a bright future. Believe it or not, Ross Perry has been very good in the last six games since he returned from injury...touch wood. Perhaps found his level?
  6. Perry has been injured. Twice he's been named in the team and has injured himself in the warm up. He's only played once and hardly covered himself in glory in a 6-1 defeat against Dunfermline on the opening day. Hopefully Bates will come in and do a job and most importantly allow Dods to focus on managing the team instead of having to play every week.
  7. Andy Ryan was a cracking wee player on loan for us a season or two back. Think he was just with us for about 6 weeks. That said he's been injured for the past year.
  8. Strange that as strikers is the only position we aren't short of - we already have Andy Jackson, Robert Thomson and Dene Shields.
  9. Brechin have signed Kevin Buchan having played as a trialist last night. I see he was released by you guys which doesn't fill me with confidence. What position does he play?
  10. Also where is best for a few pints close to the ground? Been a while since we've been to Starks.
  11. Any idea where the Brechin fans will be placed? There's a bus going down but presumably they won't be opening up a stand for a friendly.
  12. Wighton would be a great signing for Raith. He played a handful of games last season for Brechin and showed real quality before unfortunately being recalled by Dundee. He is very slight but makes up for it with good technical ability. - skip to 5:10 to see some class from Wighton (no 10) to set up our second goal against Forfar.
  13. McAusland had a very successful loan spell at Brechin last season where he was used as a central midfielder and chipped in with a few goals. Ayr used him as a right back and it would seem that the Pars also deployed him in defence which baffles me. Would have definitely taken him back at the Glebe. Is he good enough for the Championship? Probably.
  14. I never really rated Darren Petrie during his loan spell for Brechin. Good passer of the ball but not really sure what other strengths he has. Our subsequent central midfield loanees in Kyle McAusland and Jamie Masson offered far more in my opinion. I'd give or take him at Glebe Park, so make of that what you will.
  15. All the best Ray. It was no secret that he had aspirations for full time management and whilst he was doing well at Brechin it was only a matter of time until he got a gig somewhere. Didn't think it would come so soon, especially after finishing 4th and losing in the semis of the playoffs however overall it has been a good season, including equalling a record 17 league games unbeaten. He were very much struggling before Ray took over and the turnaround was phenomenal. We were thumping teams left right and centre with some of the best attacking football I've seen at the Glebe. We finished comfortably in the playoffs and we were unlucky to go out of the playoffs against Alloa. The following season was a bit of a disappointment, flirting with the relegation playoff towards the end however much of that can be put down to injuries. At no point did you feel McKinnon wasn't up the job and you just had that feeling that he would turn it around again. Last season was a vast improvement. We managed to keep most of our key players injury free and most importantly we could field a settled back line. We showed a lot of consistency which led to the long unbeaten run. It hasn't always been great attacking football under McKinnon, however he is a tactician - his side is well drilled and every player knows their job. He's a top bloke to boot, as is his right hand men Grant Johnson and Darren Taylor, unsure if they will be following him to Starks? Good luck Ray. Raith fans - get behind him.
  16. Failing to see how McKinnon is mucking Raith about. Of course he is going to hold off and see if he's offered the job at a bigger club with presumably higher wages. Not his problem that Raith have made him their number one target.
  17. Graham Hay signed for Arbroath this morning. He'll stroll it at League 2 level, would have liked to see him back at the Glebe.
  18. Brechin have signed Ollie Durojaiye until the end of the season. Thoughts Bairns fans?
  19. Wonder if we might get Wighton back on loan again. Seems like he's only been making brief substitute appearances and that's another striker to compete with. It won't be doing much for his development only getting 10-20 minutes each week.
  20. He played in central midfield and formed a good partnership with Jamie Masson. Thought he looked better going forward and chipped in with a few goals. Ayr fans weren't particularly complimentary when we signed him, but by all accounts he played right back most of his time there. I just can't envisage him playing in defence. Definitely more at home in midfield it would seem. I think he started off as a striker at Rangers so yes, he is very much versatile. Would have liked to have kept him at the Glebe. Preferred Masson but looks like we'll have to do without both.
  21. It would appear Dunfermline have beaten Brechin to the signature of Kyle McAusland. Signed today.
  22. Brechin have just signed Callum Tapping - thoughts Jambos?
  23. Buchanan played a couple of friendlies for Brechin and did well. McKinnon was keen to sign him but couldn't match the money Alloa were offering. Looked a useful player but must say I'm surprised he's moved up a division after struggling at Ayr and East Fife in recent years.
  24. A good signing IF you can get him back to full fitness. Was well off the pace last season following his accident and rarely featured. Remains to be seen if he'll get back to the player he was, if he gets a good pre-season under his belt you'll have a leader who will run through brick walls for his team.
