  1. That won't please the Cammy haters who sit behind me in the Coxy.
  2. E Craigie 1 Johnstone Burgh 1 (4-5 on pens after sudden death). Craigie blew it . One up and playing against 10 men for the last half hour. Another Burgh player sent off during the penalty shootout.
  3. Tasty game at Craigie Park tomorrow with 'Dundee' East Craigie facing Johnstone Burgh in the Scottish Junior Cup. I fancy 'Dundee' East Craigie for this one.
  4. Injuries have stretched Lochee resources to the limit. A few youngsters on the bench yesterday. Good enough to beat Kirrie 4-0 and should have enough for Letham next week but Banks O' Dee in the cup will be a different matter. Starting eleven is still pretty strong so hopefully no more injuries.
  5. McPake obviously adopts the ABC method to substitutions (Anybody But Cummings).
  6. So was that guy Bates. He must have played for Rangers reserves at some point in his career.
  7. I used to work on SCOOP. I was Pat Jennings' ghost writer. We also signed up Kenny Dalglish, Peter Barnes, Mickey Thomas and Glenn Hoddle. Pretty decent five-a side team.
  8. Double header for me tomorrow. Kirrie Thistle v Lochee Utd then back to Dundee for the game against the sheep at 6. Shame Stephen McNally isn't allowed to play against Lochee.
  9. Another 9 goals for Lochee United yesterday. That's 26 in the last three games.
  10. Lochee United v Arbroath Vics for me today.
  11. That's not the information I've been given. I've spoken to three refs this season and they've all told me there's no problem with availability, it's purely down to finance. I put my hand in my pocket to sponsor match officials a couple of seasons ago and I'll be doing the same again this season. If anybody else fancies doing it, it's £60 for a referee and £30 each for the assistants.
  12. I keep banging on about this but I wish clubs could find a way to be able to afford a full set of match officials. The Forfar West End v Lochee Utd game had an 80+year old running the line in absolutely foul weather conditions. To be fair to the old boy, instead of just standing on the halfway line raising his flag in favour of the home side every time the ball went out of play, he tried his best to stay in line with the last defender. Of course, he may not have been 80+, he may just have been 23 and from Forfar!
  13. Eight different scorers in Lochee's 9-0 win over Coupar Angus.
  14. I saw a lot of Gourlay at Dens, particularly in the Development team and I predicted a bright future for him. Shame it's not panned out.
  15. Preffered a Scottish Junior Cup game yesterday to watching footie on a plastic pitch so went up to Coupar Angus to see locals take on Yoker. Creditable show from the home team, only going down 2-0. Almost got a goal back near the end which would have made the game interesting. Fine display from young Coupar Angus keeper.
  16. Unfortunately, I think we'll sink to their level for the game at Dens and charge 30 quid as well.
  17. Can't help thinking Dundee were a bit rash to release George Johnston. He played for their Development team at age 15 and is absolutely lighting up the Midlands League. I know he's a bit slight and there's a huge gulf in level but the speed and skill he's showing for Lochee United make him an absolute standout. Nice hat-trick last night but even when he doesn't score he's a delight to watch. If you thought Martin Boyle was quick....
  18. Went to Forfar for E Craigie v St Rochs game. Craigie's young team blew them away first half and should have been ahead by more than 2. So much so, that the left back got into a verbal altercation with a loudmouth 'supporter' at half time and had to be ushered away by a teammate. He got them back into the game in the second half with a great free kick as Craigie wilted a bit, but they scored again late on to tie things up. Wouldn't fancy being a Candy player if that's the level of stick they get when they're losing. One Neanderthal did provide a moment of humour though when he accused the ref of being a homer. The linesman turned round to point out, "He's from Dunfermline." Neanderthal: "What's his address?"
  19. Not sure I can take another trip to Aberdeen after recent visits to Hermes, Hall Russell and East End. If we win it's back there to play Aberdeen Uni. Might take a trip to Forfar instead to see E Craigie v St Rochs.
  20. Could have been 15 had it not been for a top display from the Scone keeper.
  21. If he's seeing out his contract maybe we should offer them 49k for him.
