  1. I'm not a huge McIntyre fan and probably would be in the out camp but there is no question he has had some difficult circumstances to judge him on.

Came into an unbalanced squad already missing one of our best players to injury and then went on a run of bad luck with injuries every week.

Haven't had a settled back four the whole season and just can't compete with that at this level.

We also were lacking creativity and get Reilly on loan who then like everyone else this season gets injured.

Some of the signings have been poor and that is my biggest worry but we were forced into picking up what was available.

Hopefully with a decent summer and his own squad we can regroup next season. I'm not convinced but the people in charge think it's the correct move so I will accept it.

Just wading in and I do come in peace, I’ve watched his interview and he did say “they’ve pretty much downed tools on the club and manager” which isn’t something I’d expect a manager to come out and say.

Not surprised he’s made an arse of it really

It certainly deserved a reply from the club, that was fully justified.

Was he just not thinking what he was saying or was he trying to get a response out of us. I think it was probably the latter.

  3. The headline is a bit more sensational than the article.

He really just says we are shipping loads of goals, no confidence and he doesn't expect us to pick up points. Not the best way to word it but he's not far off really.

Couldn't really care less what he thinks to be honest but I'm sure if we win on Saturday he will think he's had an impact.

  4. People have been asking for some fan interaction so can't really complain about it as it has been missing.

That said it has the potential to turn a bit nasty so will be interesting to see if his plans can change any minds.

Either that or he will be punted and Gold will do the meeting as the new caretaker.

  5. With that era overtaking was more challenging and undoubtedly more risky so you weren't able to wait for guaranteed moves under DRS. There is more overtaking now but the racing is not as intense.

Let's not forget Schumacher settled two world titles (one in his favour, one not) by deliberately crashing into his opponent. Senna did the same in 1990. Senna, in particular, seems to get a free pass for that. They were great drivers for sure, but it leaves a nasty taste.

I think Senna gets a pass for 90 due to what happened in 89. Prost must have known he wasn't going to back out at turn 1 so surprised he committed to the corner with the inevitable happening.

People who think clubs can’t afford to sack managers have very little understanding on how contracts work. I’d imagine every manager in the league will have some sort of break clause that means clubs can part ways without paying up the rest of their contract. Given the position Arbroath were in when McIntyre was appointed you’d guess relegation will allow for a parting of the ways without any fee being due.

This may possibly be the case.  If they do pull the pin it will be after 10th is confirmed and they can part way with only compensation due until the end of the season.

  8. I think an announcement will have to be made either way. If he's definitely staying the board need to double down on that and let him have a decent change of signing a squad for next season rather than players thinking he may be gone. Although I think it might be time to part ways I do think he could possibly turn it around in League 1. Our current squad doesn't suit his style of play one bit but given a good window it could turn around.

If McIntosh was the designated penalty taker McKenna wants his ass kicked  all the way round Gayfield, selfish as f**k. Put McIntosh under even more pressure on the pen, though tbf was a good save right at the post. That whole incident just sucked the life out the team and support.

McKenna was the designated penalty taker but McIntosh took the last one as McKenna was injured. McIntyre didn't seem to have an answer of who the penalty taker should have been other than McIntosh took the last one. Seems this basically led to both players expecting to take the penalty probably justifiably due to lack of clarity.

  10. McKenna struggled a bit first half but was growing into the game and a player that can make things happen so I would have kept him on. Realistically we needed another 2 goals as a draw is not enough at this stage. We had them on the ropes a bit so I would probably have twisted and taken Walker off for Bird and gone for broke a bit. It's easy to manage from the terracing though and I can understand the changes that were made.

Perhaps if he had an experienced team around him.

Sheerin had experience as youth/reserve coach at Aberdeen before he came to us. We were also in L2, pre the threat of relegation so there was really nothing to lose.

I see next season as a consolidation season. I know it sounds negative but I’d be pretty happy with a safe mid table to playoff position come next May.  Obviously I want promotion and the title but a season without much drama would suit me just fine.

I think it was the St Johnstone youth team that Sheerin coached before moving to Gayfield.

If we want an experienced Manager we would just be as well giving McIntyre the chance as he hasn't really had the best circumstances so far.

Every management decision has a risk to it though but I wouldn't be against an experienced player taking over.

And the rest. On top of all of that, there will be no tv money from the Friday night games, reduced catering sales, reduced merch sales (will the shop stay open?), reduced sponsorships etc even down to local pubs, restaurants and businesses seeing a hit on takings due to reduced number of visiting fans.

We will maybe be able to be run in a similar fashion as now for perhaps a season but unless we go straight back up then things will need to be massively scale back in future.

We don't get any TV money for Friday night games. It all goes into the pot and the Premiership teams get more of this than we do.

It should be easier for us to adjust our budget than some other clubs but the playing side is definitely a priority over social media or analysts.

Hamilton second for driver of the day 😂

Magnussen in third is a disgrace too

That's crazy considering he only started 8th and finished 9th.
