Heard big Jim has already got rid of Malcolm and Sellars pretty poor from AFC if you ask me.Can see this becoming a bit of car crash to be honest if McIntyre doesn't hit the ground running.

Very common for management to bring in their own staff. Dick brought in a big backroom team and others left when he was appointed. Malcolm took the gamble that DC would remain at the club long term and it didn't work out but he would have known the risks when appointed and I'm sure he will have had a contract that will be honoured financially.

Stowe has shown me absolutely nothing so far in the opportunities he has had

Not disagreeing with that but thought he had something about him pre season and a good set piece delivery which can be a big bonus. He may not be up to the standard but not seen enough to pass judgement yet.

More likely to get a chance if he does want to play wingers though.

That’s one of hopes I have for arbroath, there’s a bit of concern over their ability to go 4-4-2 with their current squad, but that formation, which for a long period reasonably early in his spell ended up being a lopsided 4-4-2 when he had Burke on the left.  I know formations being described as lopsided might create fear among some, but it was actually fairly well drilled.

A true old fashioned 4-4-2 is probably his preferred formation, but I think he’s got enough flexibility to work with the squad he has until he gets who he wants in,  probably targeting a young winger in the short term.

We have a young winger on the bench that may get some game time.

Eventually you’re luck runs out, we were really lucky to stay up last season, just don’t believe Cove or Hamilton were worse than we were at our worst, we were dreadful, if each season is just going to be a battle for survival, you can just imagine the quality of the football

I wouldn't say we were lucky. We had more points than 2 other teams over a whole season and that is not luck. We were awful for a lot of games but managed to dig out some good draws. Wasn't good viewing for most of the game though.

  5. You can't just have 24 players with no reserve or youth team and have the budget for them all to be decent enough to play when there are injuries and happy enough never to play and sit about waiting all season.

The size of the squad has not been the big problem excluding loaning Balde out. 1320 is correct it is the make up of the players we have. It's not a balanced squad for the numbers.

Some crazy comments and opinions kicking about but the fact is since our almost glory season we have been very poor and only stayed up last season because cove and qos we utter garbage. Other than our mini 4 game winning streak this season we have been really bad and as said the effort and fight seems to have gone now and I didn’t see a way back. We might still get relegated this season but i’d rather take a chance on a new gaffer than the inevitable with dc. He’ll go down a legend but it was time for a change.

Last season was that bad you have consigned it out of your memory as it was Hamilton that were awful rather than qots.

From the outside last season looked like a success and ultimately the goal was achieved but the football especially at home was terrible. That said we had the battling quality to hold firm and secure draws in games we looked like losing but this has disappeared this season.

We are still in a reasonable league position though and well in touch with the rest of the league and with the correct appointment we may stay up.

The loan market disappearing for Campbell really seemed to be pivotal as we did very well over the years with Martin, Williamson, Virtanen, C Hamilton, J Hamilton, Nouble that just gave the squad a bit of a boost with the brilliance of Linn, McKenna and an excellent defence we have had a very enjoyable time under Campbell for the majority of his reign as Manager.

  7. Not someone that I thought would bring long term success when he was appointed but more of a short term good appointment. Proved wrong and we had some fantastic seasons under Campbell that will never be forgotten. That said the tactics and the football the last 18 months have been hard to watch. I'm not sure we can get a management team in that can repeat that success but it was time for a change for all parties.

None of the coaching staff deserve abuse from the fans though. They did a great job and it's disappointing it's been a messy end. They will be remembered fondly by most I'm sure.

How! We’ve got 4 on the bench today. What if this was an important league game?

It’s tin pot as f**k not being able to fill a bench.

TNS have 9 on the bench and we have Keegan Jacobs and Jess Norey.

We would have a starting 11 and 3 outfield subs and a GK the same as this game. We have players missing already. We don't have reserves etc. Can't just spend money on players we might need twice a season. 4 subs is not ideal but it's not a massive deal.

  9. Report on the radio saying Verstappen doesn't have duty to support Perez to 2nd. The thing is if he keeps pumping in wins it's easily the best support he can provide as takes points away from all his rivals. Perez has truly been piss poor this season since the start of the Monaco weekend.

Hey guys, a bit of a random question. Looking at getting tickets for the TNS game, what would you class as the age range on a junior ticket. Complete numpty on these things. I'm bringing along a 16 year old. Tried contacting TNS, but to no avail.

According to their website juniors are under 16. Should be ok to get him through for that ticket.

When I'm up in Arbroath I usually go to Peppos (now the Harbour).  Marco's is also fine.

When I lived in Arbroath, and this is going back 20 years, I liked the Round O.  haven't been for a few years though, is it still going?

Round O has been closed for quite a while now unfortunately.

  12. TOB giving away a silly free kick led to the first goal.

Not stopping the cross led to the second goal.

Ricky didn't have his best of games but absolutely bossed Samuel on the counter attack the last 30 minutes.

Easy to say you would have kept the same defense before the game but if Little was on the bench and we conceded the daggers would be out for Campbell. You won't always have a great game or not make mistakes but it's how you respond that matters.
