  1. I don't think anyone can argue we were terrible in the second half today but hopefully we can start getting players back and make ourselves competitive again. Been some massive injury losses since DC left. Worrying that our worst defender today was Walker but it was his debut and hopefully he will improve. Get some good loans in to complement the squad and some key players back and we can battle to stay up.

Not going to be an easy job though but we have to fight for it.

What? Come on, I’m only saying what many are thinking?

Gaston (and Little for that matter) have been two of our best servants, and two of my favourite players in my time watching Arbroath. Doesn’t mean I can’t comment on a drop in form. Every player goes through it. Gaston looks to me lol he’s possibly carrying some kind of knock so a rest would do him good.

Seriously what’s wrong in saying that?

Where’s you condemnation of Lichie23 for blaming Gaston for the goal?

He was clearly at fault for the goal. I said that myself with the comment about last week.

Hate to say it but Gaston is becoming a bit of a liability. Looks unfit, immobile, overweight and is painfully slow. You could blame him for today, united’s second (possibly third?) last week and Dunfermline’s equiliser. All goalkeepers make mistakes and are punished for errors but this is happening too often.

Is it time for Adams to get a chance?

You got a new favourite now Little is injured.

  4. Not buying that there are fights in the changing rooms most weeks. Arguments yes. I don't like people booing either but that was totally justified yesterday for Hylton after that meltdown. The main thing will be what happened behind closed doors after the match. If a proper apology and remorse was shown then a fine and back to work. If not see you later. Getting fired up and having some passion doesn't cut it as an excuse for me.

Bird I have some sympathy for as not sure what you are supposed to do in that situation.

I’ve saw a video of it back - Jay Bird does very little wrong to be completely honest. It’s not as bad as what I thought at the time but Hylton just has a head loss and goes over (standing 5 yards away from each other) and starts trying to grab Bird. Bird just reacting and trying to get him off.

I thought Bird was unlucky for the first booking and then not sure what he is supposed to do when getting attacked by Hylton.

    Gaston.

Steele who has been playing full back most of the season is playing centre back.

Hamilton who is still finding his way back to fitness is presumably playing centre back.

Slater, Gold, Stewart, Norey, Lyon are presumably filling assorted defensive and midfield positions.

Bird up front, then presumably McIntosh and Hylton in midfield.

Three players on the bench.  One midfielder, one striker, one keeper.

    This can only end well.

    1+1+1+1 = 4

Heard big Jim has already got rid of Malcolm and Sellars pretty poor from AFC if you ask me.Can see this becoming a bit of car crash to be honest if McIntyre doesn't hit the ground running.

Very common for management to bring in their own staff. Dick brought in a big backroom team and others left when he was appointed. Malcolm took the gamble that DC would remain at the club long term and it didn't work out but he would have known the risks when appointed and I'm sure he will have had a contract that will be honoured financially.

Stowe has shown me absolutely nothing so far in the opportunities he has had

Not disagreeing with that but thought he had something about him pre season and a good set piece delivery which can be a big bonus. He may not be up to the standard but not seen enough to pass judgement yet.

More likely to get a chance if he does want to play wingers though.

That’s one of hopes I have for arbroath, there’s a bit of concern over their ability to go 4-4-2 with their current squad, but that formation, which for a long period reasonably early in his spell ended up being a lopsided 4-4-2 when he had Burke on the left.  I know formations being described as lopsided might create fear among some, but it was actually fairly well drilled.

A true old fashioned 4-4-2 is probably his preferred formation, but I think he’s got enough flexibility to work with the squad he has until he gets who he wants in,  probably targeting a young winger in the short term.

We have a young winger on the bench that may get some game time.

Eventually you’re luck runs out, we were really lucky to stay up last season, just don’t believe Cove or Hamilton were worse than we were at our worst, we were dreadful, if each season is just going to be a battle for survival, you can just imagine the quality of the football

I wouldn't say we were lucky. We had more points than 2 other teams over a whole season and that is not luck. We were awful for a lot of games but managed to dig out some good draws. Wasn't good viewing for most of the game though.
