  1. Quiet preparations for administration underway with a name change prior to yesterday's match.
  2. If the SFA's Fit & Proper Person test is anything like the FSA's, Davie will fall at the first hurdle... http://www.fsa.gov.uk/pubs/hb-releases/rel27/rel27fit.pdf The only saving grace is that his dodgy, dishonest reputation is unlikely to have a detrimental impact on the Company.
  3. It's lovely that he ad libbed it from the heart and didn't have to read it off some hastily scribbled notes lying on a table. Either that or the camera woman had distracting cleavage.
  4. Quo of the South (whisper....they're not quite as cutting edge as they used to be...) Anyway, hope it's not 'Down Down' this season chaps.
  5. Sums it up. As far as the wider world is concerned, this game is like a fight to see who is the biggest Chihuahua.
  6. Now that Mike's trotted in on his white charger, The Rangers are safe. The thread was great while it lasted. Why are their fans so upset?
  7. There's a profit stream to be had from Rangers' fans. Also, although prize / TV money is not great in Scottish Football, it is / could be virtually guaranteed for The Old Firm, with Champions League cash a bonus. If you're clever with money, get a talented young manager in, run a proper youth system, you could get Rangers International finishing 1st or 2nd in the Premiership with comparatively little outlay. Newcastle generate a lot of cash but it is very expensive to maintain English Premiership mid-table year after year. Rangers could be run on a comparative shoestring.
  8. Congratulations St Johnstone - you deserved it - have a great night out celebrating. Special mention to Brian Easton - Eastie, you're a hero and should be playing for Scotland along with McArthur. As for Dundee Utd - your fans are only slightly less horrifying than your neighbours'. As Tannadice St is the only place I've ever been threatened following a football match, by one of your orange-clad neanderthals, I'm glad you were stuffed - GIRFUY. (btw - Hull are 2-0 up after 8mins!)
  9. fwiw - apart from the time wasting, I thought your keeper played okay - couple of good saves including point blank from Curier.
  10. Morton deserved more today - how can you be SO crap at the back yet SO dangerous going forward? Yes, we were crap at the back too, but you know what I mean - some v strange subs by Sheils.
  11. On the contrary, they've been doing very well - brand new team, consecutive promotions (probably) and the possibility of a Scottish Cup semi-final in only their 2nd year in existence. Yesterday was a huge game for them, easily the biggest in their history, and they're still in the SC with the chance of doing the treble. I think for a new manager in his first job Ally has done really well taking a diddy club this far so fast.
  12. Yes, and just failing to earn a replay with us in that Scottish Cup sent them on a doolaly downward spiral of spend spend spend... The things people will do to try and compete with the big boys - madness.
  13. Bendarroch, on 08 Oct 2013 - 15:28, said: If your argument is that more popular things / institutions are inherently better than less popular ones, let's see how your theory works with a subject less controversial and divisive than Scottish Football, such as world religion: The CIA's World Factbook gives the world (July 2012 est.) distribution of religions as: Christian 31.59% (of which Roman Catholic 18.85%, Protestant 8.15%, Orthodox 4.96%, Anglican 1.26%) Muslim 23.2% Hindu 15.0% Buddhist 7.1% Sikh 0.35% Jewish 0.2% Baha'i 0.11% other religions 10.95% non-religious 9.66% atheists 2.01% Despite a CoS upbringing, I regard myself as thoroughly atheist and, despite atheism's diddy status (there are but a 'tawdry few' of us, plus Richard Dawkins), I'm pretty sure I'm right in what 'team' I support. ]
  14. You're 100% correct, I do find all this fascinating. The same way I found Fawlty Towers, Rising Damp, The Kenny Everett Television Show, Blackadder, One Foot in the Grave, Father Ted, Alan Partridge, The Inbetweeners and Fresh Meat fascinating.
  15. Can we please keep the Celtic / Rangers nonsense out of this forum - doesn't belong here (or anywhere) and we diddy fans aren't interested. Thank You.
