  1. The only player that wasn't there from last season was Seb Ross.
  2. First game of preseason and a fair few injuries so I'll try not to be too harsh. Young trialist who started the game in the middle of the park was tidy on the ball and got on it quite a lot but he never once looked interested in making a tackle, just jockeyed his opponent until they popped the ball off. Mackie was impressive, played out of position at centre back but he was so composed on the ball, actually wouldn't mind seeing him in the middle of the park as he always looked to play rather than hoofing it up the park. Oliver wasn't up to much but it was a difficult night playing upfront on his own for the first half and the trialist striker that came on in the second half was absolutely brutal, which is frustrating when you've got the local lad Malcolm on the bench would have preferred to see him. It was never a 4-1 game but we created he haw aside from a few corners.
  3. What a depressing update, 3 out of the 6 new signings out injured for tonight as well as Aidan Nesbitt. 1 or 2 more signings left in the budget and then bolstered through loans later on in the window. Also sounds as if they are struggling to find a striker to sign which isn't really a surprise but it is extremely worrying.
  4. We had him when he returned from his scholarship in America. Was very raw and ropey at us and I don't think that's changed much. He's incredibly soft for a centre back so I can see why Mccall had him playing right back instead.
  5. Gretna sent him back without even playing him, I think it's pretty safe to assume he's absolutely dugshite. He played with Dalbeattie in this.
  6. The Falkirk herald ruining my day with their pictures of preseason.
  7. I don't think anyone's doubted Kingsley or Sibbald's ability, they both just would take up a massive part of our budget that we can't really afford at the moment with the squad of players we have signed on. Especially given Sibbald's essentially just missed the full of last season through covid and other covid related effects. He was in the paper last season talking about how he was ten minutes into his return from injury and was really struggling to breathe as Covid had hit him that hard.
  8. Blowing the rest of our budget on Sibbs whilst there's still massive holes in the team to be filled would be a mistake in my opinion. He's technically very good on the ball but he's never been a runner and we desperately need legs in the middle of the park. Niang from Partick would do nicely in beside McGinn for me. Big ball winner who's got the legs to get all over the park for a full 90 minutes.
  9. What a disappointment that is, must be right into his horse racing.
  10. Not heard anything yet, should find himself a championship club easily enough.
  11. Hetherington had some sort of a revival at the end of the season but he's definitely not good enough on the ball to be in the middle of the park for us. Need some legs in beside McGinn so Hetherington won't do, wouldn't mind Niang from Partick for a bit of energy and dig in there. We need Tommy Wright in a job soon so we can get rid of Nesbitt.
  12. Niang would be a good signing, always good to have a bit of dig in the middle of the park. I was hoping we'd be taking a look at him if Partick were letting him go. @LeodhasXD how did you find him for you lot last year? Russell Mclean not so much, got to ask yourself why Peterhead are happy to let him go especially given he's just scored 12 goals last season, don't rate him at all.
  13. He's not a world beater but 4 goals and 4 assists last season isn't too bad a return for a midfielder/makeshift left back. He was a bit hit or miss last season but I reckon McGlynn can get more out of him this year even if it is just as a squad player. Given we have 14 of the diddies from last season McGlynn's going to have to try get something out of some of them as it's not going to be possible to move them all on.
  14. Looking forward to seeing how McGlynn's going to have us lining up on Friday, getting to see who's still leftover from last years diddies and hopefully a full raft of trialists to make things more interesting.
  15. Yeah I get that, my issue is that everybodies looking for a striker who'll score them goals. If Mcglynn's not identified that player yet then there will be slim pickings from what's left of the permanent market.
  16. It's frustrating but at the same time other teams in our league aren't really flush with signings either, also still more than 5 weeks until the actual season starts. I'm worried about who we'll end up having as our striker as arguably that's the most important piece of the puzzle so that's giving me the fear.
  17. Yeah Swinney mentioned it in the podcast too. Said they'd already been decided before he came in.
  18. Don't get the Airdrie-esque collar and end of the sleeve but other than that it's fine. Sign some players to wear it now.
  19. I wouldn't pay too much attention to that page but there's definitely trialists in as somebody from the facebook page posted a picture of the team training down at little kerse and there were a few unknown faces.
  20. I'm hoping there's a few rogue trialists always makes the friendly games more interesting. Rory Loy & Philip Roberts battling it out for a contract one preseason being an example trialist strike partnership.
  21. Two golden oldies with the young rabid dog Hamilton in beside them.
