  1. We've got two competent attacking full backs, no longer have Mark Durnan and we seem to have recruited a bit more creativity in Nesbitt and Mcguffie. Mckay's the only signing i'm disappointed with so far which in actual fact isn't that fair on him considering he's not even touched a ball in a Falkirk shirt. Still plenty of signings to be made so I'm not getting the negativity around our squad just now. Aside from Ben Hall you are allowed to be negative about him as he's shite.
  2. Vigurs is a good signing for them but Draper's not. Hartley's packing out the centre of the park to try steamroller the league. Fyvie, Yule, Scully, Vigurs and Draper now all signed for this season. Fyvie dictates games so him and Vigurs with one of Scully/Yule will be their midfield three. If anything Megginson showed last season what a difference a competent striker who makes himself a nuisance can make. Reminded me of Mcmanus single handedly pulling us up the league two seasons ago.
  3. Hester's on a 3 year deal at Elgin and has his betting ban on his record which normally puts us out the running. Paton was obviously rumoured but that's went quiet with no doubt his agents touting him left right and centre. Mcglynn normally does well recruitment wise so I wouldn't be surprised to see him sign on there. Miles Storey could be a goer due to the Aberdeen link but Sheerin may have loans in mind so upfront. Be interesting to see if there's a match report from the game against Cowden on Saturday as I'm keen to see what formation he's planning on playing and obviously who's playing where.
  4. Trying to tell me Zac Rudden didn't care about what happened to us?
  5. Sorry BB I was on about Jakubiak at Dundee. Ross was also number 16 at Cove so he must like the number. Any number 9's coming in?
  6. They've given him the squad number 7 which to me says he'll be getting a game. As I had thought the same as you.
  7. I'd much rather see us bring in a young promising player on loan that we can see is here to better themselves and better us at the same time than a haddy that's banded about club to club. Brad Mckay for example. We don't have the luxury of bringing our own players through at the moment so there's no sour grapes in bringing other teams youngsters in to improve the team. They need to actually be capable of improving the team and as Sheerin has been working in the u20's for a fair few years he should have spotted a few good options to bring in. Also adds a bit of energy to the team and is key in areas that are hard to recruit permanently ie upfront or a goalkeeper as we saw with PJ Morrison last season. We'll hopefully get back to cultivating our own breed of youngsters soon but for now I'm more than happy for us to be warming up other clubs seeds and reaping the benefits as we do.
  8. Loans dominated in our league last season. Neilson for example was a massive improvement on what we had even though he was only 18. Fotheringham there was a player there we just needed too much from him too soon and he still has a bit of developing to do physically. Stokes, Jakubiak, Nelson, Rudden, Kellor Davis Dunn, Neilson, Mcmanus. Just because we haven't used the loan market effectively for years doesn't mean we should avoid it this season. We haven't used the permanent signing market correctly for years either.
  9. Sheerin will most likely have a few from his Aberdeen 20's team he'd like to bring in as loans. So depending on what position those players are we'll most likely strengthen elsewhere. More likely to get a box to box midfielder from an academy on loan than you are to sign one permanently. Transfer Wish List: A back up goalkeeper A starting centre back to play with Dixon A back up right back A box to box midfielder Two strikers
  10. Telfer can from what we seen last season play in a midfield two but we're much better getting him higher up the park as you havd said. I just worry that if he's in beside Hetherington he won't be able to affect the game as well as he should as he'll have to sit deeper. Doesn't exactly have the engine in him to go box to box either.
  11. He's most likely guessing given he still had 2 years left on his deal at Cove and Hartley's hardly likely to throw us a free bone.
  12. Lovely, loans make all the difference in our league so hopefully we can be as beneficial to the players as they are to our sucess this season.
  13. A box to box centre midfielder who can run up and down the park for 3 days straight. A couple of strikers and a centre back.
  14. Possibly could be playing Telfer in there but as I said earlier I'd much rather see him further up the park with a box to box midfielder and Hetherington in behind him. Hopefully Sheerin has an Aberdeen lad lined up on loan for the box to box midfielder.
  15. And a young centre back capable of starting ahead of Mckay.
  16. Chances are we'll be taking a few of your youngsters on loan later in the transfer window. Any idea who the likely candidates will be?
  17. Given Seb Ross is a winger/attacking midfielder we're still badly in need of a box to box midfielder to play in beside Hetherington.
  18. The shadders rumour mill has ran dry lately, you heard anymore on your travels?
  19. He was also missing from their team the other night in a friendly but that doesn't mean he's signing with us just means he's signing with someone.
  20. Trump's famous for putting his walls up and spreading negativity.
  21. Does he still have his pace after his injuries? From what I remember of him he was good at making himself a nuisance but didn't really do much other than that. 3 goals and 4 assists for him last season.
  22. I think the narrative was more that Holt would be making all the signings rather than Sheerin being his puppet. But that signing does disperse that thesis.
  23. He may not be, but he did sign Moore for us. Signed him on the basis of being a left back/left mid and to be fair to Moore I don't think he'd ever played a game at left back in his life. In the games he actually played for us he played as a left winger offering absolutely nothing.
