  1. That's my take too. Starting a new co but let's pretend it's not. Shaft the creditors with a CVA but carry on as Rangers FC with none of the liabilities. Ridiculous proposal.

If the aim of Mr Miller is to be the true savior of RFC, he should put up the money, pay for the shares, pay off the debts and then carry on into next season with no points deduction.

Understand and accept that a proportion of ST money is going to Ticketus for a few years.

Understand and accept that there will be one season without Euro football.

Sort out acceptable contracts with the players that mean RFC are operating in the black.

Take a few seasons of pain and emerge stronger and fitter than before.

I think that would be an honourable road to go down and no-one would have any complaints.

You mean play by the rules and do the right thing? Well, it's an unusual approach, but...

  2. So in summary. The Blue Knights, who never had any money, have stepped back because they don't have any money. Bill Ng, who made a high offer, turns out to not have enough money, and is worried about getting the shares from Whyte, who Haudit and Daudit said was now irrelevant in the process. Bill Miller? Has said almost nothing so far, whats the score there? Oh, and Kennedy, a man who actually does have some money and experience, has been told by H&D that his offer is no good because its too low, despite it now basically being the only offer on the table. Meanwhile, H&D are trying to sue Whyte's lawyers and are going to get tied up in court for months carrying out an action they are unlikely to win.

Is that all right so far? Have I missed anything?

Kennedy also sold his share in Everest the other day for £25m, which is too low

  3. He's more a rugby man than football, and by a good distance.

He also bought the heavily in debt Stockport County FC and transferred ownership of their ground to his rugby team before handing the football club over to the fans with the debt still intact (but minus a stadium). Then his rugby club started to charge the football club rent.

He was sniffing around Edinburgh Rugby (Gunners as they were at the time) several years ago when they were up for sale.

And also wanted to bring London Scottish to Edinburgh.

I understand he wants to move into Scottish Rugby, possibly with a team from Glasgow who may or not be moving to an Athletics ground in Scotstoun for next season and who, with the right investment and a bit of shrewd running, could make a substantial impact on the European stage.

He appears to want to buy an ailing Glasgow football club with, what has to be said, rather excellent facilities, stadium and training centre both, for a very minimal sum of money.

I'm not sure if any of the above are dots that can be connected.

Your "understanding" seems to be from the Chick Young school of understanding.

He bought Stockport and all their assets including Edgeley Park and the training ground. He subsequently sold Stockport to a Supporters group (like the ones constantly suggested on Rangers Media, but the transfer didn't include EP or any of the associated costs with owning a facility like that. The Supporters group then ran Stockport into admin a few years later. As someone else mentioned, he has regularly waived the required rent.

Kennedy served on the Scottish Rugby board for a while. Not sure if anyone else will remember the sh*tstorm at Murrayfield when Phil Anderton (later of Hearts) was sacked by the blazer brigade for attempting to run the business properly and make them pay for tickets instead of travelling all over on the SRU's bill. Kennedy came in as a non-exec director, and was part of the group which oversaw the move to a significantly better off-field structure and business model which is slowly starting to produce the goods at youth and pro level (although sadly not at international atm!). He didn't want to bring London Scottish to Edinburgh - it was suggested that he would fund a London-based but SRU-managed pro-team in the English League. This was rejected by the SRU, and would have needed RFU approval anyway.

I can also confirm that Glasgow Warriors are still owned by the SRU and will definitely be playing at Scotstoun (which is also where their offices and training ground are) for the forseeable future.

Glasgow have previously used Murray Park's indoor facility for training during inclement weather, but the pitch at Ibrox does not meet the required size. (The IRB have granted special dispensation for the Commonwealth Games as can be seen in this document).

  4. I know the Rock is due to be appearing more and gunning for the title, but something inside me is saying he'll end up taking on The Streak at Mania.

On a side note, I've just finished reading Jericho's books - absolutely brilliant.

  5. ? that was a joke ? Really

Why would I want to contact the JC when its the Animal Rights coonts I have issue with? And I didn't raise the issue, so, roooon ye!

    Then my apologies for misreading.

But surely the JC would be the experts, and would be able to provide the same facts to AR as you have here? Although I agree that AR probably wouldn't listen.

As for criticising my joke and that "roooon ye!" comment - I didn't want this to get (more) petty but

    Cluess re National Hunt .

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^ Clueless re: spelling ;)

  6. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ exactly the attitude that has cost more horses their lives in the last 10 years than in previous decades.

    Cluess re National Hunt .

So because I decide to make a joke, I'm clueless, and my attitude is to blame for the deaths of horses?

I told a joke about a magic tractor the other day - presumably I'm to blame for the dearth of magic tractors?

Maybe you'd be better off contacting the Jockey Club with your concerns, rather than raising them on a predominantly football forum?
