  1. I get what you mean. However clubs like Hibs and Aberdeen need investment and we'll take it when it's offered. To be fair Bournemouth should really be a League 1 side but BK are transforming them. There's a new training ground being built for them and a new stadium coming by 2027. They are going places. In pre season we played Bournemouth over in Spain and they absolutely toyed with us. Lee Johnson' said afterwards "Well we won't play anyone as good as that in the league thankfully." Ludicrous when you think about it.
  2. That's unremarkable in the English Premiership. He'll go for bids starting at minimum 70-80m if they sell him in the summer. A striker in mid table team hitting 20 goals in the Premiership will be in big demand. And if Man United come in they'll end up paying well over the odds.
  3. The football department runs the day to day activities of the football club, same as your club. So BK don't run the football department but their input will rightly be sought when the Hibernian Board recognises a review or change is needed. As Board Members BK are also perfectly entitled to voice their displeasure at the pathetic performance of the club this season. It's perfectly correct that they advise on the search for a new Director of Football or Head Coach or both. And with their track record that's hardly surprising considering they hired Andoni Iraola as manager and he's been brilliant and they've turned Dominic Solanke into a brilliant player who is now a multi million pound signing target for clubs like Man United.
  4. Of course they're involved. I'd say they're now pulling the strings as far as the future football direction goes. Personally I'm all for it. Whilst Monty has been given the next 5 games to get results BK are probably already sourcing his replacement as well as that of several others in the football department. No great secret that the Director of Football McDermott will retire/move on as he's out of contract in the summer. Again his replacement will be sourced by BK.
  5. And a more nuanced study of Boyle would show he has had a number of assists to other scoring players this season. However there is no doubt he has lost a half yard of pace owing to the number of injuries he has sustained in the last few seasons mainly from the treatment he gets from Scottish defenders. If he was "shite" as you suggest he wouldn't still be getting international call ups.
  6. It may depend how much the Black Knights group kick off with the Gordons. None of them are in this for Hibs to be finishing Bottom 6. It's been 3 years since Jack Ross finished 3rd and it's been bang average to failure ever since.
  7. Absolutely Tommy. Once their findings are complete then the recommendations on Kensall, Monty and others will be actioned. Could be minor surgery or it could be a bloodbath.
  8. Not sure about that @Lyle Lanley Nothing will happen till there is a board meeting and I wouldn't expect that meeting to happen till sometime this week when the ramifications of the Bottom 6 are assessed (i.e financial implications of missing out on home games with one of the uglies and a home derby). Failing to finish Top 6 got Wee Shaun his jotters. The precedent was set. I don't see how they can keep him and there is 2 weeks till the next game.
  9. She's an absolute numpty and a complete fraud. Claiming she got lost finding a town with one road running through it . I also managed to upset ex school friends who alarmingly seem to revere her when I pointed out that she was full of shite.
  10. We have a winner. ....... unless we have a late straggler to the discussion from from Cordoba/Mendoza 1978.
  11. Despite the Master Degree and Honours Degree, experience and professional qualifications I also keep waiting to get found out. I've been in my current job for 11 years and am seen as an expert in my field but there is a ton of stuff I don't know and sometimes instead of accentuating what I do know I can find myself thinking I'm going to get flamed about stuff that I don't. I've been in so many meetings where I just want to fade into the background and hope I don't get asked to talk. I'm normally quite chatty and appear confident at what I do but the imposter syndrome always nags away at me in the background. I don't have the ability or desire that certain Edinburgh public school types seem to have to basically bluff and bullshit their way through professional life with an air or confidence backed up by absolutely nothing.
  12. Hearing the rumours again this morning Hoose. Other folk I know saying he's going.
  13. Hibs fans are wind up merchants in non shock The fact that a gesture like that would have the less emotionally balanced Ibrox attenders in a froth means job done. if any Rangers fan believes the Hibs fans doing it are either Irish or frequent mass attendees in church then I’ve got some magic beans in my pocket to sell them for £1000.
  14. Bit of a difference between beaks in suits and horrendously overweight males in their 50s in elastic waisted Sports Direct Trackie bottoms and XXXXL replica shirts.
  15. Nothing but respect for anyone who gets off their arse and pays money to go to watch their team when that team has absolutely no expectation of success or entitlement. Particular wee mention from me to to the fans of Dundee, St Mirren and Aberdeen who I've always thought were sound, especially their away support.
  16. If you find out let me know. I shall text the details to one of our larger Hibs brethern who is heading north..
  17. Wait till I tell you about this mental club called Rangers.. I agree. But Hibs aren't the only club who have idiots chucking projectiles on the pitch. Your club has it's own group of coked up nuggets who like a wee throw.
  18. Classy. Your away support of swivel eyed, mouth breathers could maybe just try realise it's the 21st Century and act like human beings. Have you actually anything left if you remove the sectarian crap?
  19. It'll probably be round about the same as you guys. The good thing is that the Derby will be protected from this assuming we both mange to start dealing with the dafties in out own supports that have had too much pre match marching powder. And also Aberdeen's traditionally good support at ER should still be fine.
  20. I'd agree with you and I've never ever had the same sort of issue with Celtic fans as I do with the blue mob. That's nothing to do with our club's common ancestry it's more to do with what I have witnessed at matches. The boring political crap and IRA chanting (that was a dead duck at ER by the late 70s) as well as stadium damage has become too much for our club to put up with. Rangers however are on a whole different level and their behaviour at ER at the weekend barely qualified as human.
  21. Yes it is sad and pathetic. But this has been coming for a while. I thought it was a brave decision along at EH11 when Mrs B cut the allocations of the Glasgow clubs but I'm quietly delighted Hibs have elected to do the same. Bear in mind the make up of the Directors on the Hibs Board is similar to that on the Hearts Board. Typically you have the fan Rep who is usually out of their depth, the local business people made good, merchant company types and partners in Edinburgh law/investment firms and now the rich benefactor (Anderson/Foley). We do have to sort out out own house as well but the mood music from the Board is that they will no longer put up with this crap from mainly Rangers fans but also Celtic fans too. The sectarianism and tedious political crap generally gets on everyone's tits and don't forget the other issue is the stadium damage that happens every single time they come to ER or Tynecastle. It's even more important than ever that ourselves and Hearts protect the Edinburgh Derby to keep it as it is.
  22. Yes absolute morons do. And usually it comes from the sort of obese idiot who has never played football or any other sport that extends beyond skulling pints, because if they had they would know that the sight of a stretcher and medical staff on a pitch is generally a sign that there is a serious situation and it upsets players. FWIW Boyle was checked for damage to his neck and confirmed with serious concussion. None of this however seems to affect the apologists for the brain donors who chant "die die die you f****n *******" at Boyle. A statement which would no doubt leave the boyhood Aberdeen fan Martin Boyle somewhat bemused.
