  1. Well that goes without saying. Effie is a genuine moron and Wings is a toxic tossbag.
  2. Madness has descended and I'll be at Perth on Saturday. We've still shifted a lot of tickets for what is basically dead rubber to back a team that has misfired for most of the season.
  3. Always rated him. Another player who always used to turn up for International Duty. Is he out of contract at the end of the season?
  4. Sadly where I live on the outskirts of Dunfermline it's the opposite. The kids playing football in the park where I stay generally are kitted out in English Premiership team shirts (Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal, United) plus the odd Real Madrid or Bayern Munich top. If your really lucky there will be a Scotland or a Celtic shirt. And knowing a few of the kids as they are pals with my youngest none of them have actually been taken to a game. Football is something that exists on the telly for them.
  5. This is certainly true. We are served atrociously by SkySports and they underpay for the rights massively . Their overlooking this season of 2 Edinburgh Derbies for games involving whoever v Rangers/Celtic was poor decision making. Next year we'll also have Dundee Derbies. No doubt these will be similarly overlooked depending on who Celtic or Rangers are playing.
  6. Agree. There's no interest south of the border in our football. The Weegies get very occasional reference but it's viewed in the same way that scientists watching chimps throw their own dung around would do. Try explaining the sectarianism background to that game and you get totally blank stares. They get bigger crowds at their Rugby games than we get at matches involving any side that isn't the weegies, Aberdeen, Hibs or Hearts. Non league football is really well supported and Cricket, whether we like it or not, is also huge. If I'd stayed down there I'd have ended up completely losing touch with Scottish Football and probably with a Season Ticket at Barnet.
  7. Totally and @VincentGuerin is correct on this. I was down there after I finished University for 2 years in the mid 1990s. Worked and live in North London. Used to go watch Barnet regularly and occasionally trips to White Hart Lane which was more expensive on a grad's salary. Scottish Football was not on the radar. Only time I reconnected was when I'd sometimes buy a Sunday Mail and read inevitably about Rangers and Celtic. It's really easy to lose touch with it. Nobody was interested. My local boozer had two tvs, SkySports was gaining traction and it was always on and they just didn't bother with even the Old Firm game. Why show that when Watford v West Brom was also on?
  8. I get what you mean. However clubs like Hibs and Aberdeen need investment and we'll take it when it's offered. To be fair Bournemouth should really be a League 1 side but BK are transforming them. There's a new training ground being built for them and a new stadium coming by 2027. They are going places. In pre season we played Bournemouth over in Spain and they absolutely toyed with us. Lee Johnson' said afterwards "Well we won't play anyone as good as that in the league thankfully." Ludicrous when you think about it.
  9. That's unremarkable in the English Premiership. He'll go for bids starting at minimum 70-80m if they sell him in the summer. A striker in mid table team hitting 20 goals in the Premiership will be in big demand. And if Man United come in they'll end up paying well over the odds.
  10. The football department runs the day to day activities of the football club, same as your club. So BK don't run the football department but their input will rightly be sought when the Hibernian Board recognises a review or change is needed. As Board Members BK are also perfectly entitled to voice their displeasure at the pathetic performance of the club this season. It's perfectly correct that they advise on the search for a new Director of Football or Head Coach or both. And with their track record that's hardly surprising considering they hired Andoni Iraola as manager and he's been brilliant and they've turned Dominic Solanke into a brilliant player who is now a multi million pound signing target for clubs like Man United.
  11. Of course they're involved. I'd say they're now pulling the strings as far as the future football direction goes. Personally I'm all for it. Whilst Monty has been given the next 5 games to get results BK are probably already sourcing his replacement as well as that of several others in the football department. No great secret that the Director of Football McDermott will retire/move on as he's out of contract in the summer. Again his replacement will be sourced by BK.
  12. And a more nuanced study of Boyle would show he has had a number of assists to other scoring players this season. However there is no doubt he has lost a half yard of pace owing to the number of injuries he has sustained in the last few seasons mainly from the treatment he gets from Scottish defenders. If he was "shite" as you suggest he wouldn't still be getting international call ups.
  13. It may depend how much the Black Knights group kick off with the Gordons. None of them are in this for Hibs to be finishing Bottom 6. It's been 3 years since Jack Ross finished 3rd and it's been bang average to failure ever since.
  14. Absolutely Tommy. Once their findings are complete then the recommendations on Kensall, Monty and others will be actioned. Could be minor surgery or it could be a bloodbath.
