Our squad will, and should, look very different next season. I'm still not entirely convinced by Jim Goodwin, but fair's fair, he has done exactly what was asked of him.

It's maybe worth reflecting that since Ian Murray described Dundee United as "rattled" before our game with them a few weeks back, Dundee United have scored 12 points in 4 games and Raith Rovers have scored 7 points from 5 games.
Sometimes it does pay to do your talking on the park.

I've never seen United win a league before, I was too young in 1983 and the curtailed Covid season, in many respects, didn't count. It's nice, but I feel relief rather than joy.

Raith Rovers hanging on in there for as long as they did kept it interesting, but I can't help thinking they really let us off the hook. We were there for the taking several times this season and they never took advantage of that.

What a horrible game. Ayr were very well organised and hard to play against, and we were nervy as f**k. I don't think for a second we win that without the red card. Oh well.

Imagine a Brazil 2003 race running nowadays - it'd just be red flagged.
Three laps behind the safety car first, obviously

My pet theory is that because they throw the SC at the first hint of rain these days drivers don't know how to drive in the wet any more

Pity, a Hamilton/Alonso front row would have been great. Never mind

Mika has officially announced the sabbatical was not a sabbatical, but a retirement after all.......
Mika was great. I loved him

Brighton, Brentford and now Liverpool linked with the club in partnership/takeover
The Liverpool link seems to be:
1. Liverpool are looking for a feeder club
2. The feeder club they are looking for might be Scottish
3. Dundee United are a Scottish club
4. ££££££

Harry Kane losing out to Leverkusen. Who are pretty much the Harry Kane of football clubs.
The Harry Kane curse is so powerful it can make Neverkusen win trophies.

Bayer should be 4-0 up by now. This game is definitely finishing 1-1

I only heard a bit of OTB in the car. I heard the preview with McIntyre describing Willie Miller like some kind of elder statesman and role model to the other pundits. I think that tells you more about the rest than it does Willie.
Willie Miller, to use the old Malcolm Tucker joke, is so dense that light bends around him.

Jack Baird.
He also managed something I didn't think possible - he managed to be the biggest c**t in a team containing Kirk Broadfoot
Oh aye. Although John Baird might have had a better game, even at centre half

Fair play to Dundee for getting top 6. Pretty much the blueprint we need to follow for next season, including changing the manager that won you promotion. Which we won't do. Oh well

John Baird had one of those games players sometimes have where it looks like they have only got a game through winning a raffle

If you say you're a Dundee United fan you'll be arrested and thrown in jail, these days.

Just heard about 5 minutes there. Is Michael Stewart the stupidest person on earth?
I didn't hear what he said today, but yes

How are we still here? We're fucking terrible.

I think if we beat you in a couple of weeks you'll still have a shot at it, because we will almost certainly drop points elsewhere. If you beat us, we're not coming back from that.

I've seen a bit of chat here about Raith never having a better opportunity than this to win promotion, and I would agree. Yes, if you stay down it means by definition that we go up, and Livingston will surely not be in a healthy state next season. Having said that, you don't know what next season will look like. Other teams will strengthen too, Falkirk will have all the momentum in the world next season, and who knows what happens to the many loan players Raith currently have. There's absolutely no guarantee Raith will be as strong as they have been this season, and given how many games this season have been won by a single goal (and quite often by very late goals), is that sustainable next season? Who knows. There are a lot of variables over the course of a full season.
As things currently stand, you have seven games to win one more point than a Dundee United side who have been haemorrhaging points since late December. You've had three recent opportunities to go ahead of us, and failed to take any of them. You failed to beat Morton at home and you utterly shat the bed against Arbroath (I have no idea how yesterday's game went in fairness). Right here right now, you are up against a team filled with players who are either off form, chucking it or just not good enough, managed by an idiot. You absolutely will not get a better shot than this.

If we could get out of our recent habit of losing the first goal, that'd be lovely

It was so stupid. If it stays 11v11 I don't think we win that game.
