Never seen these wee boys at a Rose game before. If you turn up thinking you're getting in with face masks and balaclavas on then you're probably mistaken.

Exactly. Big man continuing the sh!thoosery post match. After the match I was speaking to one of the committee men who turned them away. He said one of their mum’s turned up to complain they hadn’t been let in. What chance have you got?

  2. Hard fought win yesterday, always a good feeling to get a winner late on, not so much when it is against you. we weren’t great, but we kept going to the end.

we now have 57 points, with 5 games to go. This beats last seasons total of 54 points after 36 games. Well done Hunts and Gemmell. Extra incentive to get a result next Saturday, if my maths are correct. Should Colts and Tranent draw (good result for us) and EK beat us, I think they have won the league. Let’s not make that happen.

  3. I don’t think the way we played up to our front line worked when Dalziel was on the park. Long balls, missing Johnston and Porteous invariably came right back at us. Rovers were more physical and bossed us in the first half. We played more on the deck when Grant and Stevenson came on and looked much more threatening. We aren’t playing to our strengths, yet. There is promise in the squad and we will improve our league position from last season.

word is we are unlikely to see Stenhouse back this season.

It might just be me but I don't see what's particularly appealing about the Kelty story? Moneymen took them up, the moneymen have now gone away and they're likely starting a steady decline back down.  I have no problem with Bo'ness being what it is, a big Lowland League club that with a bit of luck might make it into League 2. There's very few (any?) examples of guys pouring cash into clubs that have ended well in Scotland.

There's no shame in hitting a glass ceiling as a football club, every team has one, rather they should be proud to be punching at the top of their weight. Selling out for some short term unsustainable success shouldn't be viewed as a positive.

Agreed, I’d rather we were doing well in Lowland, getting a bigger crowd, decent visiting support as more former EoS teams join,  travelling to Linlithgow, Broxburn and Tranent rather than Peterhead, Stranraer and Forfar

Ruddy deserves a chance especially if Musa goes, but if he doesn’t turn out to be the keeper we need I wonder what the chances of getting Andy Murphy back are now that Hunts is the gaffer…🤔

I’d have him back in a heartbeat.

Added bonus, his da’s mental posts

Battisons / Brig Inn is more food orientated than drink and expensive. It is also probably a mile away from next pub.

If you came via train - you have Platform 3, Post Office, Wine Bar, 4 Mary's and Cafe 1874(?) all within 150 yards.

A short walk you then have Footies and Crown then another short walk to Black B*tch (willow tree) and West Port.

At that point try Rose Club or walk a mile to Battisons.

What happened to the Swan and the Portcullis? Did lockdown do for them?

Russell McLean a.k.a Trialist has signed with Forfar.

Was a nice to have for the short duration. We would’ve been very fortunate if he chose to sign with us over a SPFL team

He came, he saw, he wound up the Mordor mob. Credit.

"So called expert" ?     OUCH!!!......that's me telt !!!

Having been scolded i'm away for a gid greet.

    Mon the BU's !

But will you stay telt? I doubt it.

It is a fair point. the average age of the starting 11 yesterday was below 25. We have a young squad, most of them are in their first season together. We are building for the future by extending contracts of those willing and moving on those that aren’t. We should be happy with the league performance. A cup run would be a nice bonus.

Good performance in the end today after a bit of a shambles at the start.

Musa doing what he tends to do from time to time and I reckon he was lucky to stay on the park in truth. Second goal was another few errors in a row and suddenly we were two down.

From there though the boys were l excellent. Louis Kennedy probably had his best game in a BU shirt, fighting for every ball and delivering quality into the box. Fin Malcolm who's had a trying time to say the least with two good finishes to take the lead.

Then enter the villain, Matty Flynn. What a fucking moron to get sent off for two dissent bookings one after the other. That said, not as thick as his pal who got sent off for dissent two minutes later.

Topped off by an absolute thunderbolt at the end from Porteous. Despite not really delivering whats been expected from him so far, you can't argue with his goals, great production from a left winger.

All in all an excellent day out, would hate to have been sitting home with nothing to watch on such a glorious winters day.

Herdy and posse were enjoying the warm delights of the pie stall at half time. Second half may have given them food for thought.

By my reckoning, this season we have played 26 competitive games, 20 league and 6 cup. We have scored 55 goals in those 26 games, failing to score in 6 of them. guess how many different scorers there have been.

    18!

Porteous 11, Grant 8, Stevenson & Stenhouse 5, McLean & Malcolm 4, Dalziel Foster Kennedy Travis McArthur Mooney 2, Hawkins Henderson Rutherford Gemmell McAuley Johnstone 1

Seen on twitter that Rose are asking Bo'ness fans to enter from the School End, looking like segregation. Surprising as theres not been any bother for a wee while, was there any trouble on boxing day?

I’d heard Aitchie asked for segregation on Tuesday, not sure what the justification was. Maybe he sensed rebellion at there being no pies.

    Oh the irony..!!

That wee team who continue to evolve, within the security of their own ground and social club.

Time you realised you ain't even the biggest team in Bo'ness anymore

You must be torn on who to watch on Saturday big yin. Will you stick to whoever is winning as usual?

The highlights should clear it up but would say if it was our man through we would have been screaming for a red .

Ryan is not a full back full stop , he was skinned last week and this was a situation just waiting to happen .

Anyway , the boys did their best and a win would have been a shock but there was not 3 leagues between the teams in first half .

Another point , Porteous must be one ofI the most disappointing signings ever , has given very little to the cause .

I think this is harsh on Ryan Porteous, by my reckoning he is our top scorer with 9 and we aren’t half way through the season yet, including 2 penalties (nuff said). He gets fouled a lot, wins us free kicks up the park. We could have done with that second half yesterday.

Best case scenario for me was a win and 2 draws......and that was me being positive !!

Same, I thought 5 points from the first 3 games would have been good going. Second half was a tough slog but we did what was required.

    Squad so far

    Goalkeepers.     Digaba, Fullarton

Defenders          : McArthur (Capt), Stevenson, Hawkins, McAulay, Ward, Rutherford, Irving

Centre Mid.         : Gemmell, Johnston, Henderson,

Att. Mid                 : Grant,  Kennedy, Mooney, Porteous

    Strikers                 : Malcolm, Dalziel, Stenhouse,

Those in bold are the new signings

As you see a major rebuild for the new management team.

Also have loaned Heeps (Broxburn) & Murdoch (HOB)

As supporters we just have to be patient as it’s going to be a tough league this season.

If I’ve missed anyone out I’m sure JS can add in.

Hamilton? I saw him at the pie hut on Saturday
