  1. Common sense and hard work by those involved to get it changed.
  2. I am not sure if chopping and changing is the problem we had, more just terrible appointments. That’s why I asked about who would be Talbots alternative as if people want rid of Tucker then there isn’t many/ any around with a better record. What Pollok have seen directly after Sneddon was poor appointments. Sinnett to try and win the Scottish, Willie Irvine which was more about money he could bring with him, and some belief about access to pro youth players, Richardson who was never going to work due to his history. Then under the manager who is at Darvel we did have some stability, initially, however he was allowed too much control at the club, too close to too many people and when it was obvious his time was up, we didn’t react soon enough. Murdie was really only about continuity. Maxi, time will tell, but he certainly has rebuilt the squad to a decent level which we were crying out for. Some mistakes this season, but seems to be learning. So if Talbot went for another manager at this level, I don’t see a Henderson, Friels etc being the quality of Tucker. Strain has won at Beith, but at the same time Kilwinning wasn’t all plain sailing. The natural successor for Talbot you would have thought would have been a player who played under a Tucker for a while and is doing well cutting their teeth at other clubs, but that doesn’t seem to be working. Butch, didn’t work at Beith, Gormley was ok at Broomhill then Kilwinning was a disaster, was it Pope who left a lower league club the other week. Spencer didn’t work at Meadow either.
  3. I would be surprised to get a reply to this post. For those posters (one especially) who want Tucker to go, who do you want to replace him? As not many to chose from ? I actually do agree from a neutral pov Talbot have been in gradual decline and haven’t been the team they once were. If we go back a few years to the Pollok v Talbot match that ended 3-3. Talbot v 9 men for 30 odd minutes would have been a disaster, however that team lacked the creativity to open us up. Too used to playing direct to Wilson and playing off seconds and this level has moved on a bit from that now.
  4. What your manager says isn’t what he does. A club that was very active on social media seems to have went quiet? No post match interviews anymore? Might cost you more than it did for Moore to sort out your manager situation.
  5. Just a heads up, since you may still be traveling home. Don’t look at the league table tonight.
  6. 3 of the bottom 4 now changed their manager this season….
  7. Not sure if you can call it ‘tapping up’ when a player is out of contract and in their last few months / weeks. Players as much as clubs will want to get themself sorted for the following season. If a player is under contract for the following season and player is approached, then agree that’s tapping up. That then usually ends up with a transfer fee, so we are back where we started with that being only a few signings each summer (Darvel)
  8. How many players in the WoS Prem this season were signed for transfer fees? Probably 95%+ all moved for free. Only really Darvel in the Prem shelling out fees for players. Burgh in first. Most other clubs are doing their work during close season with players out of contract.
  9. Seem to be doing their best to ensure that doesn’t end up the case
  10. Bo’ness v Darvel is a possibility for TV Lowand League side v last years shock team. Make it even more interesting by putting MK on the panel for a post match analysis. Cowdenbeath v Linlithgow is another one Apart from that, these isn’t many that jump out
  11. The first WoS premier league, Pollok went top on first day of the season on goal difference and were never moved from first place. Ronnie Lowrie was manager, and we sacked him the next season for being in 3rd place !
  12. You are only losing by the odd goal, which from the outside looks like if you sort out forward area then you will start to win again. During the close season, when Stuart McCann didn’t re sign for us my concern was he would go to you. As really feel his power and pace would have fitted in well to how Sloan likes his players. Not sure if you did go for him before JB signed him but feels like a missed opportunity to me.
  13. Pollok 6-0 Meadow beith 4- 1 Largs Gartcairn 0-1 KRR Darvel 0-1 Cumnock, match abandoned due to medical emergency in Cumnock dugout - hopefully person involved recovers.
  14. Pollok 3 KRR 3 Pollok 3-1 up and cruising, made 5 subs, fell out the game and drew 3-3.
  15. No didn’t get his name, possible Joe something? Did ok, probably one of our better players on a poor night. But believe it’s just due to injury and suspension. Mullen back at the weekend so would expect and hope he is back in.
  16. Cumnock 2 Pollok 2. Don’t think either keeper made a save of note, but if one team deserved to win, it would have been Cumnock.
  17. It’s a name I would rather not mention
  18. Tony McNally is not manager of Darvel, he is a different ex lower league manager. Ex Kello I think
  19. Burns at wedding I think and Doco has a reoccurring injury that he can’t shake off and not sure what is causing it. Goes through stages it’s ok then pulls up again I believe.
  20. Fraser was missing through suspension, that’s RB position so could have started but certainly would have came on after the injury Jordan Allan LB suspended, Burns the back up unavailable (wedding I think) Which is why we had 45 mins with no full backs playing Then it’s hard to tell as I don’t think anyone could say Polloks best XI to know if the others not playing missed out due to selection or injury / suspensions. I would say from pre season we ended with our stronger forward line rather than the one we started with. Stephen Docherty is also carrying an injury and possibly would have been on bench
  21. My thoughts to bring it back to the game itself. Talbot, looked strong as usual. Get the ball forward fast, and seemed to have a few players with pace who could get in behind. Not 100% who their new players were but still looked like a team full of 6 foot plus players which makes them really dangerous at set plays. ( which has been Polloks downfall against them in the past) Pollok defense looked fragile, which can partially be down to only one fit fullback, and a CH at left back. Then second half the fit full back came off injured at HT so we had 3 CH and a CM as our back 4. we started with 3 small forwards which wasn’t working as when getting the ball forward quickly it was too easy for their players to win headers etc. we looked a more settled side when we added a bit of physicality up top with Anderson and Kerr. I would expect both teams will improve by the week as they get more settled after a lot of change over the summer
  22. Talbot bidding to spend thousands on a player but fans deflecting to post about a manager in the lowland league.
  23. Talbot lose one game and it’s meltdown. What happens if the latest revolution doesn’t go to plan, ‘there’re horses on the pitch, they think it’s all over…’
