  1. Waiting for the rumours of exotic foreign managers, like Ricardo Rodriguez or Marti Cifuentes from last time, to be linked to the job, get emotionally invested in them, have them get nowhere near the job, and then appoint someone from the usual merry go round...
  2. Celtic game moved to Sunday noon kick off. As if there was going to be enough Sunday games already...
  3. Is there any indication of when Sky will actually announce all their TV games, at least for August? Seems the usual shambles they've only announced the first weekend and will leave everyone guessing from that point. That Celtic game, is almost certainly going to be on TV but leave everyone guessing what day it'll be on.
  4. Vicente basically confirming he'll be at Aberdeen next season as well.
  5. He was in Aberdeen youth setup as a teenager. Just signed professionally elsewhere.
  6. By UEFA rules he counts as an Aberdeen homegrown player. That was what I was talking about. Apologises, you must have known more than me when I posted it...
  7. Aberdeen have developed five players that have been in Scotland squads this season. But aside from them and the numberous players playing professionally in the top two tiers in Scotland this season, and the players playing in the Premier League, Championship, and other leagues in England. The top scorer in the Welsh league was also developed at Aberdeen. Then there is the five players either in the first team or on the fringes that have represented Scotland at youth team level. BIt apart from that, a barren wasteland. MIght as well shut down the academy. It's only earned the club about £10 million recently.
  8. An entire Aberdeen homegrown XI would easily qualify for Europe. Not bad for refusing to develop any players ----------------------------------Scott Bain---------------------------------- -----------------Michael Rose---Scott McKenna---Clark Robertson--------------- Calvin Ramsay----------------------------------------------------Daniel Harvie -----------------------Lewis Ferguson-----Ryan Jack--------------------------- ---Ryan Fraser--------------------------------------------------Scott Wright--- --------------------------------Bruce Anderson-------------------------------
  9. Don't really need to have 4 club / 8 national homegrown players. They only begin to count after the first 17 players in the squad. I.e. Unless they have a squad of 25 over 21 year olds, they can always leave spaces in the squad to count as a homegrown spot. I can't imagine the squad is going to grow that much over the next few months. At the moment they'd struggle to meet the minimum player requirement.
  10. Lewis can't be on a small wage either. If he does go his replacement will probably be half the wage, and frees up a bit of money for elsewhere in the squad. Have to think that Kennedy is gone in the summer, and some questions over Barron, Dean Campbell and Besuijen. I'd be hopeful of keeping them as they are more than good enough to be in the size of squad that Aberdeen will probably have to have next season.
  11. Jayden Richardson and Anthony Stewart are welcome to join him. Not to mention Callum Roberts and Shayden Morris.
  12. BT Sport and Eurosport to become TNT Sports.
  13. Cause they sign players like Declan Gallagher and Anthony Stewart.
  14. Probably could have just played better if he didn't want to be a reject? Seems simple enough.
  15. Is Martí Cifuentes or Geir Bakke the hipster choice now? It's hard to keep up.
  16. Some mad Scandinavian would be better than the usual names mentioned. And please, no one from the lower leagues in England. All they'll do is sign a bunch of lower league English jobbers and we have enough of them already.
  17. As hard working as Kennedy is, the last two games have really shown the need for someone who isn't just going to be stuck out wide and shows the need for the wide attackers to cut infield. Especially with McCorie at right back, with a huge willingness to get forward into wide positions, it just ends up with two players occupying the same space and making it easier to defend in those areas. Perhaps swapping him and Duk, and having him cut in from the other side whilst Duk seems to more naturally fall into a more central area. I'm still a Besuijen apologist, though many for his talent rather than his performances for us recently. And holding out hope that he can be rejuvenated from his (maybe Clarksons?) assist for the first goal yesterday. Miovski looks dreadfully in need of a goal again. A couple of chances yesterday, you would have definitely seen a more defiant strike from him earlier in the season. But a bit more of a meek finish when he only had the keeper to beat.
  18. The Merkland Stand is definitely crumbling. And the main stand and south stand aren't great places to be sat in either. Aside from the Dick Donald lower, there's hardly a good seat in the entire stadium.
  19. But why make it that exactly half get a home draw and half get an away game. Why not randomise that aspect as well?
