Aberdeen's Next Permanent Manager 23/24 Edition

Waiting for the rumours of exotic foreign managers, like Ricardo Rodriguez or Marti Cifuentes from last time, to be linked to the job, get emotionally invested in them, have them get nowhere near the job, and then appoint someone from the usual merry go round... -

The Famous Aberdeen - Season 2022/23

Is there any indication of when Sky will actually announce all their TV games, at least for August? Seems the usual shambles they've only announced the first weekend and will leave everyone guessing from that point. That Celtic game, is almost certainly going to be on TV but leave everyone guessing what day it'll be on. -

By UEFA rules he counts as an Aberdeen homegrown player. That was what I was talking about. Apologises, you must have known more than me when I posted it... -

Aberdeen have developed five players that have been in Scotland squads this season. But aside from them and the numberous players playing professionally in the top two tiers in Scotland this season, and the players playing in the Premier League, Championship, and other leagues in England. The top scorer in the Welsh league was also developed at Aberdeen. Then there is the five players either in the first team or on the fringes that have represented Scotland at youth team level. BIt apart from that, a barren wasteland. MIght as well shut down the academy. It's only earned the club about £10 million recently. -

An entire Aberdeen homegrown XI would easily qualify for Europe. Don't really need to have 4 club / 8 national homegrown players. They only begin to count after the first 17 players in the squad. I.e. Unless they have a squad of 25 over 21 year olds, they can always leave spaces in the squad to count as a homegrown spot. I can't imagine the squad is going to grow that much over the next few months. At the moment they'd struggle to meet the minimum player requirement. -

Lewis can't be on a small wage either. If he does go his replacement will probably be half the wage, and frees up a bit of money for elsewhere in the squad. Have to think that Kennedy is gone in the summer, and some questions over Barron, Dean Campbell and Besuijen. I'd be hopeful of keeping them as they are more than good enough to be in the size of squad that Aberdeen will probably have to have next season. -
