  1. Be interesting to see who goes down this season, as I think if they part with their manager, Neilson will be a shoe in. Although, I think Robbie could do worse than to maybe take a break from management. Aside from his 9-10 month hiatus between MK and United, he's been in management gigs for 9 years straight and bar slight improvements, is much the same manager as he was in 2014. He probably could make a career bouncing around clubs in the Championship as something of a promotion specialist and I think clubs in Scotland could certainly do a lot worse than take a chance on Robbie Neilson. But, the Neilson we all know is probably never going to manage a bigger club than Hearts.
  2. One of my first real memories of supporting Hearts is when we played IBV in the UEFA Cup. 2000 I'm sure it was. I was in Reykjavik and went to watch Valur vs IA. Not the most scenic ground in Iceland for sure, but the stand faces the runway for Reykjavik Airport so sitting watching the planes take off was a welcome distraction to the match at times! IA won 2-0 or 2-1 I'm sure and while there was only maybe 300 in attendance, a good 50 of them were IA fans who were a noisy bunch. Funny enough, I was in a bar in town the afternoon before the game and there was 2 ladies in taking a keen interest in a Handball game on TV which IBV were playing in. They were actually from the island over for the weekend.
  3. Got a passing interest in most of the Nordic leagues tbf. Have all the top tiers on my flashscore favourites, albeit of the lot, the Finnish league is the one I'm least interested in. But Norwegian football is pretty cool. I too became pretty interested in the 2020 season, and adopted Brann as my club when I found out about the Roald Jensen statue at the stadium. Would love to go watch a game in Norway. Been lucky enough to catch a game in Iceland and Denmark, but there's some cracking looking settings to watch football in Norway.
  4. I know that overseas coverage does exist, but like you point out, its how many games is the big question. The Old Firm, Cup finals and maybe some other derbies are probably quite accessible from across the globe, but again that's a huge problem within itself. Scottish football seems to be quite happy with only drawing attention 4 or 5 times a season. It's really selling the full package that we need to work on. That's true. Although plenty people in England who support a Scottish club still come up and watch their team most weeks so don't necessarily rely on the coverage as much.
  5. Interesting to see how many countries on that list, but I wonder how up to date it is, or how much games actually get shown. I've been to Germany a number of times and never seen Scottish football on Sport1. Don't doubt they maybe show the odd game here and there but again, that's maybe something we can look to improve in itself.
  6. Herr's Carolina Reaper cheese puffs. About £3-4 a bag but love them.
  7. I think the split is going to be pretty exciting tbh. Both our clubs as well as Hibs and Aberdeen vying for European places with games vs the OF thrown into the mix. Every point is going to be crucial. Then again, even Livi might still bag a top 6 spot. I'm worried about my own teams position atm. Saturday's game is massive. We need to just try and stay in front of Aberdeen as much as we can really. I think if we lose 3rd in the next few weeks, we won't get it back.
  8. My name boomed in the late 80's-early 90's and peaked in 1995. I was born in 1993, so it was a very fashionable name at the time. Sadly it's decreased year on year since the turn of the 21st century, and only 68 Connor's were born in 2022. Shout out to the 2 female Connor's who exist out there. One in 1986, the other in 1995. Good on you.
  9. I guess the biggest problem really, is the only nation we actively try and promote our game to is England, which for several reasons, is never going to work. Instead we should perhaps look to tap into different markets, particularly those with Scottish expats. I know there is some coverage in the likes of the US, Australia etc. and I understand it might be pretty niche, but there's bound to be countries where it could catch on somewhat. Scotland is a country that's almost universally loved, and there are loads of people out there who love the British football culture. It's a hard sell because ultimately, we're selling a product that isn't the EPL to people who perhaps only like the EPL. But somehow I feel you're more likely to appeal to foreign markets as opposed to England. We can promise the full 'British football experience' just sadly without the big money and big talent. Like I say, it's a hard sell, but I'm sure some marketing boffins out there could do it.
  10. Tbh I don't think you're chances are that remote at all. We're utterly gash at the moment. I was just humouring you really. St Mirren are having a great season and tbf, I'd be happy to see you guys get a crack at Europe in any capacity. But unfortunately for the Buddies, your away form has been just not good enough thus far, and with the split on the horizon, its hard to see you picking up a lot more points on the road than what you already have. Same can be said for my lot too tbh. If we didn't shite ourselves the minute we left Edinburgh, we'd be a lot more comfortable in 3rd place. Both clubs are ultimately where they are on account of their home form. I personally don't think you lads will get 3rd, or maybe even 4th but 5th is definitely up for grabs which should be enough for Europe and that would still be an incredible season for St Mirren. But you're right. 3 points at Tynecastle on Saturday and who knows?
  11. We'd maybe take you a little more serious, but somehow you've won less games on the road this season than a side who physically can't play outwith an EH postcode, and that's the crux.
  12. Tried this on FM07. First game was a 15-0 defeat to Czech Republic which saw me get 4 men sent off. Gave up.
  13. Apologies for the FM21 content, but I found this quite amusing. The league in Slovakia splits like Scotland, but after 22 games, before playing each other again twice to make 32 matches. Newly promoted Kosice had a very decent season until the league split, and ended up only 3 points above bottom side Petrzalka.
  14. Oxgangs haven't been great for a while now tbf, but to their credit they've never thrown the towel in. Sadly my club are starting to toil a bit, and myself and my mate who run it have got too much going on outside of football to devote the time needed to build it back up. So get along and watch Broughton while you can!
  15. My teams division. We beat Oxgangs 3-0 up there in August. Lost 4-3 to Broomhall. Still got to play both again in the coming weeks.
  16. Think one was a Friday night game and the other I remember being a Saturday lunchtime game as I was working. Think I had 2-1 us with Goncalves anytime only for him to pop up and make it 3-1 with his first of the game. Something like that.
  17. Can see this being a bit of a repeat of our trip to Livi a few weeks back. Not expecting a classic at all. A draw might not be that bad, but depending on results today, it might be a bit of a must win game.
  18. Fair play mate, keep it up. It's been a good read.
  19. @Tartan Dave did you just transfer this save over to the new FM? Or have you actually just played right on to 2037 from scratch?
  20. Not going to lie, I actually thought Scottish refs had taken a bit of a leaf out that book since the restart. Feel like every game I've been to post-WC has had at least 1 half with abnormally long injury time.
  21. Great to see Mussy picking up a big win yesterday. Been down a couple of times since the new gaffer came in and they look a very good side. If Linlithgow make it up to the LL next season then the Burgh have a real shot at the title.
  22. Conceding a Puskas nominee to a 50 year old Michael Smith, losing to a village team managed by a peri-peri chicken shop owner and failing to have a shot on target in 90 minutes vs Paul Hanlon and Lewis Stevenson. What a couple of weeks to be a Don.
