  1. New manager and all new squad. Really good bunch and hopefully they will grow into a team as at the moment they are not. Some decent players but no real cohesion on the park. Started from fresh this year and speaking to their manager he understands they will take time to start playing at this level. Newburgh tipped for top 6 ! Not that I have seen anywhere... we are just happy to be playing football and meeting new teams.
  2. Tough game at Burntisland today for Newburgh but the manager got the reaction he demanded after Wednesday when a really poor 1st half cost Newburgh dearly. Good result today against an experienced Shippy. Looking forward to another now opponent next week when Eyemouth come to East Shore Park
  3. Cheers Gogsy I will try and get a copy of it from DC Thomson archive
  4. Blue dragon do you know if the B Heron listed is the same player who went on to play for Rangers?
  5. I have had a reply from John as follows - Billy Murdoch Kilsyth Rangers FC and Frank Thomson Renfrew Juniors FC were the Subs that day. I also received a reply from elsewhere that the goalscorer was Dalglish, he said that Dalglish had scored from a re-taken free kick. If I find any more info or photos I will share the.
  6. I have had an email to Newburgh FC website as follows Looking for a photo of the Scottish Junior Team that played the Fife Junior F. A. at East Shore Park Newburgh on Saturday 16th September 1967 Dear Secretary My name is John Chambers I played for Scotland Juniors that day along with one Kenny Dalglish I have lived in England for 36 years and wondered if you had an old photo somewhere in your club house I know it was a long time ago but you never know.I would I like it for my Grandson.I have Junior Scotland Book 1889 To 2019 The Players And Matches where I get a mention but no Team Photo. I know this is a big ask but please do what you can. Best Regards, John Chambers I have looked but we don't have anything at the club - can anyone help?
  7. Ground inspections were carried out a few weeks ago. Feedback was sent out with any issues that needed addressing and applicant clubs were given the opportunity to reply in writing to the board. Replies were then submitted to current member clubs prior to them being asked to vote on the applications at the EGM. The caveat regarding the time schedule to comply is the part in the acceptance that references having a timescale to compliance. If compliance is not achieved within the timescale set the membership can be reviewed. A very professional process from start to finish and the league should be commended on having excellent governance in place.
  8. The most important word in your reply is "apparently" As I said we are not tied up in grades. We will take what time we have to make sure we have the maximum amount of information available to us before we make any decision.
  9. Not for Paramore fans.... [emoji444][emoji444][emoji445][emoji445]
  10. Luncarty look to be West of the River Tay on that map. Is there a case for tier 6 WoSFL league entry possibly?
  11. I understand you point and I reiterate I have no issue with Luncarty. However if there is movement, no matter how small, for one team there then has to be consideration given to all teams. The fact is that Luncarty's ground sits North of the mythical line that means Dundee and Tayside teams are excluded from entering the Lowland League. If this is adjusted for 1 team it has to be applicable to all teams. It is black and white. I am sure the organisations involved will sort it out.
  12. Where we are geographically has always meant we are at the North or South of regions we are in Travelling has never been an issue. In fact we chose to stay in the South area this season as we had built a squad based mainly in Fife. This means almost double the mileage travelled per season than going back North.
  13. No decisions made yet. We dont want to rush into anything until we are sure we are making the right decision for the club. Grade is not something we are tied up in. It is about making sure we are sustainable and able to continue playing competitive football for another 110 years as a club
  14. Hypothetical as it may be you are the person who posted this. However you seem to want to allow flexibility where Luncarty are concerned. If 200 yards or so doesnt matter how far are you advocating this can be extended to? 1 mile? 2 miles? Or is it to be decided on a club by club arbritary basis??
  15. So if we hit the post on Saturday can we count that as a goal then? Common sense seems to only apply when it suits. If they are North of the line and there can be no special cases for East West movement why can it be adjusted to suit selected Northerly teams. If there is a special case made surely this opens the door for all clubs to move to suit their own agenda. North South East West. I have no issue with Lincarty by the way they are a good club with decent facilities.
  16. Does this apply across the country then? Luncarty are North of the line are they unwelcome in the EOS? Or is that different??

    Syngenta

Having watched Syngenta in both games against Newburgh this season I would say the following Game 1 at Newburgh ended 4 1 to Newburgh. Syngenta played some really nice football but it was obvious they were a stepping up youth team. Not a bad thing and I am sure as the season progressed they would have become more experienced and started to win games that previously they would have lost. Game 2 at Westfield Park. An obviously different team altogether. Much more dig but maybe not as much football. The game was close and needed the introduction of our 2 subs to change it up for us. We were struggling to break down the defence before this. I dont think any of the shouts etc were any different to what we hear week in week out around grounds and isnt someplace I came away from with a bad feeling about the opposition. Not 100% sure of the politics that are being talked about but for me a combination of the 2 teams we have faced would be a stronger team All the best to them for the rest of the season.
  18. Sauchie v Newburgh is now being played at Newburgh
  19. Not this again......... Please........ Leave us alone
  20. Newburgh 0 Lumphinans Utd 2 first 90 mins of pre-season done!!
  21. Can you clear one thing up for me The pool competition, was it a straight knockout or did you play against everyone else in a round robin?
  22. I'd go back and read your earlier comments, you're looking for an argument where none exists. That's the trouble with some posters. OK - you are correct.
