  1. Given we were pumped 4-0 in McCall’s first game, a 1-1 draw on the road is a marked improvement. I feel we shaded that game but couldn’t make the final pass or work the keeper too often. Scullion, Young and Leslie all failed to cut the ball back from near identical positions. However, from the pattern of the game, if we could actually sign some of these seven, six, five or four players (the number seems to be dropping by the day) we may be onto a winner. There’s a marked improvement in the defence with Howie and Hamilton in there. Forfar managed to win against Elgin so it’s back to chasing the latter with a five point gap to make up. A bit of a free hit on Friday night before another couple of tricky fixtures away to Spartans and Elgin.
  2. Ooft would need to see that wee penalty call there again.
  3. Yes. Didn’t look anything too serious but he was playing really well.
  4. Dunachie a walking red card here by the way. Cuddihy coming off a blow for us too.
  5. Very solid start to the second half here. Please score Clyde!
  6. A rubbish start but grew into the game and grabbed a deserved equaliser. Have had a few chances to get ourselves in front too. Reasonably happy. Midfield has won plenty. Howie will maybe be a wee bit disappointed not to get the rebound for the opener but the centre-halves have been fine since. All a bit sticky up front for me but we haven’t been a million miles away from something coming off. I thought Rennie had been pretty rubbish but he’s grabbed a goal and looked better for it. EF still look dangerous on the break with the ball on the deck but they seem to have a fascination with punting it long which isn’t working.
  7. Watching on stream today and it looks as though Shepherd is going to body Ross Lyon every time he goes near him. Leighfield is possibly even scarier on the stream than in person. We’re working the ball into decent areas but it’s all breaking down a bit in the final-third thus far. I had wondered if Stevenson would come in for King rather than Rennie coming straight back into the team.
  8. The longer it goes without signing somebody the more I’m expecting another Page, McGrath, Jones etc day on the 31st.
  9. A very valid point (and trust me the rage is building)!
  10. If the Clyde Twitter admin had teased a signing 8 (EIGHT) hours ago and not revealed it yet I’d be incandescent with rage tbqhwy.
  11. To be fair, McLean cannot be any worse than Ferguson based on the little I’ve seen of both.
  12. It’s obviously hugely important to make sure we bring in the right players and I can appreciate that this process takes time and, with that in mind, we may need to wait until towards the end of the window before we see more movement. However, given our precarious position and, as FREDDYFRY mentioned above, given the aggressive language used for months in relation to this transfer window, I think it’s natural for a bit of panic to creep in amongst the support. I did hear some names mentioned on Saturday and would be very happy if some of them materialised but I’ve no idea whether they’re purely rumour or not. I won’t mention names but it does sound as though we’re at least looking to bring players in for a higher level. It is worth remembering that we’ve already brought three players in already this window and Ray Grant coming back into the team feels as good as a new signing. However, if we haven’t made another signing by around this time next week, I will be beside myself with panic!
  13. Aye, January’s been a bit boring admittedly.
  14. By the way, if Peter Grant’s presence at the club helps to keep Ray Grant here longer term, then sign them both up on a ten-year deal!
  15. Whilst there’s an argument for Lyon to have a role at the second goal, I think there were a few opportunities for that ball to be dealt with better than it was - Dunachie could probably do a wee bit better immediately before the ball comes in. However, if there’s anybody to blame, it’s me. After Young cleared the ball upfield, just prior to the ball coming back in for second goal, I said to my dad “I think we’re looking very comfortable here”. Obviously, they scored immediately after.
  16. An absolute lovely angle of King’s goal there, it was some hit. The first goal a really nice goal too. Ross Lyon’s calamity for Bonnyrigg’s first was genuinely worse than I remember at the match.
  17. Very decent 771 in attendance today. It must be the first time this Millennium we’ve won with a bigger than usual crowd in attendance.
  18. Another interesting post-match. Good to hear McCall’s annoyed about the manner of the two we conceded but hopefully we can start getting a wee bit of a run going and start to work on these things. Good to hear McCall reiterate another “five, six or seven” bodies in. Some suggestion he may look to get King back in too.
  19. That’s exactly what a team trying to hide a wee fallout would say!
  20. A well deserved win but the two goals we conceded were chronic. Bonnyrigg would scarcely have believed their luck at the first goal. Hopefully a pair of full backs and a goalkeeper, at least, arrive this week. The drop off when the subs came on was fairly apparent too but you can’t change a squad overnight. A huge win too given Elgin’s result. Maybe Forfar are the team to catch after all?
