Five weeks to go to the Manchester Marathon. Have managed three 23 mile runs, yesterday a proper test with right breakfast, gels etc and it was  a good eight minutes quicker than the one about a month ago (not that I was going for pace), so that's encouraging.

If anyone wants to sponsor me, you can do so at https://www.justgiving.com/page/stuartisturning40

All donations greatly appreciated, you can read why I'm doing it at www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/local-news/galloway-news-reporter-marking-milestone-32279216

I can’t remember if I already sponsored you or if it was someone else who posted a just giving link earlier in the thread?

I honestly love lads like that. People who get seriously geeky about niche things and who love holding court chatting about them. I once spent a tremendous night out with a really shy fella who it turns out was really into battle re-enactments. Outstanding chat.

    Mon the geeks.

When I was younger I’d have slagged the c**t rotten but fair fucks to the guy, he is out doing what he enjoys.

A mate of mines was charged by Interpol last week. He's going down on international drug trafficking charges.

Seems he tried to implicate another, which the courts rejected. I probably will not see him again after that revelation.

Was it a surprise to see him involved in it?  Ex flatmate of mines was once involved in the supply chain, didn’t know at the time but the flat we shared was being used to store significant amounts of various substances for someone he knew. I was as surprised as i was appalled when I found out, the daft c**t wasn’t short of cash and could easily have stayed out of it, not sure what the f**k he was thinking when he agreed. The boy he was holding for has since been jailed, and received a fairly significant sentence at that.

  4. Public transport in Scotland is generally fucking terrible compared to where I am. If I ever moved back I would absolutely be using a car regularly. The busses in Edinburgh are probably the only exception to that, but I’d prefer not to live there.

  5. 18 to 22 was fucking tough today. After that I felt fine. I reckon I could manage 30k at this pace, after that I guess I’ll just need to wait and see. I think I’ll knock a bit of the distance next weekend and head up the hills for 10-15k instead.
