It varies from club to club I'd imagine. I know of at least one club that provides free accommodation (i.e. a posh flat) to its better players.

Personally, I had equal dislike for both sides. I would generally, if watching, be looking for the neanderthal element to spill over onto the pitch in the form of late tackles etc. If you could have both lost it would have been magic.

Can you explain how or why a newly promoted 2nd Division club can ever be in a position to turn down established 1st Division players now playing in the top flight? You're in the jam you're in because Rangers fans want marquee signings to encourage people to part with money for season tickets. If you signed up proven lower league Scottish talent being paid what they are actually worth, your wage bill would be far more manageable.

The cycling season truly kicks off this weekend on British screens with some live racing for a change! Paris-Nice prologue live sunday afternoon on Eurosport then live throughout the week. Tirreno-Adriatico has snaffled all the big stage racing names and it's live from wednesday. Also the two Italian one day races this weekend, delayed coverage of Strade Bianche this afternoon and then same again for Roma Maxima tomorrow. Bring it on!
