  1. Yes agree with this wholeheartedly but hopefully that's something in the near future.

The standard is rising in the Lowland league and so is the EOS and now with the new WOS starting the standard is going to be high, so teams in EOS and WOS and hopefully the SOS, (personally and not meant to offend, I don't think the SOS teams are strong enough but their standard may rise due to the strength of the EOS and now the WOS),  might think they are good enough for the LL so there should be 2 regulations from the LL and 1 straight relegation from the SPFL Division 2 and 2nd bottom should be in  a playoff with 2nd top LL.

This will give every team lower down the positives future knowing they can progress quicker

Top of LL doesn’t automatically get the play off spot, they have to beat the HL champion. A more reasonable scenario would have the bottom of spfl league 2 relegated, the winner of the HL/LL play off promoted with the loser playing second bottom in a two leg play off for a (potentially) second spot.

However, realistically I can’t see this happening until the spfl moves ( as is being rumoured) to 4 leagues of 12 in a couple of seasons.
  2. Nice.
That's 17 clubs in each conference, so 32 matches? Might be a bit high when you remember that 1) there will be a play-off to pick a champion, which will mean 3 or 6 more matches and 2) the champion may enter a play-off with the winners of the SoS and EoS for promotion to the LL, which could be 2 or 4 more matches. And the WoSL leagues would need to finish at the same time as the EoS and SoS leagues, so you could be trying to play 35-38 games by the first week in May. All this in a season that may be shortened because of The Great Disease.
Might need to stay flexible on the format?

Overall champion could take as little as two extra matches - winner A v winner D in one semi and winner B v winner C in another. Then a final.

Or could take a round robin meaning three days - Saturday/Tuesday/Saturday.
  3.
    Brora                    26   72
    Inverurie             28   59
    Fraserburgh      23   55
    Play-off semi-final :
Brora  v   Kelty or Bonnyrigg ..........if played ?

HL got so many poor teams that won’t take points off the top sides that there’s no way Brora could likely drop the points needed to bring others into it. LL very different in that regard
  4. Now is the ideal opportunity to sort this all out.
With no football being played at the moment, for once it's not just members of this forum who have time on their hands.
Skype, WhatsApp, etc or by jove even the humble phone can all be used for all the discussions which need to happen to go ahead.

    Agreed.

Also expect that individual committee members will now have the time to at least set out plans and draw up lists of jobs etc that would help their clubs meet the various requirements.
  5. Or alternatively the LL crack on with their own wosfl, get applications in and assess what they have. Leaving all wrsjfa clubs an opportunity to either join the pyramid or remain junior. No one included that doesnt wish to be.

This, with a caveat. IF all 63 apply and want in, the junior cup survives

And I say that from the point of view that without that happening there will still be teams operating in leagues under the junior fa banner in all parts of the country.

  6. one main problem however. is in the event of not all clubs moving to the new wosfl. gordon ronney has not told us what will happen to them.which is a big concern for these club's and for us.surely he will not abandon them. some clubs fear they are not in a position to move.they should put in a application they can always withdraw it later.was told he said you take the 63 clubs but we want the Scottish junior cup.

Can anyone explain to me how Gordon Ronney ( or anyone most likely) can negotiate on behalf of the Junior Cup as a competition? Fair enough if there weren’t any non WRSJFA participants in the trophy ( west of Scotland cup for example), but this isn’t the case.

  7. Restart and finish all seasons in aug and sep (at least til the formal issues resolved).

Have a short 3 week close season. Start new season in late October. Use premiership (or rugby league super league) type splits to help shorten the league season - where necessary.

Premiership in Scotland - play everyone twice then split. 27 games plus the 8/9/10 in aug/sep.

Champ- league 2, play everyone 3 times, 27 games plus the 8/9/10 in aug/sep.

Lowland - EoS Prem 30 games season. Reduce the local cups. Plus the remaining current season fixtures til issues resolved.

Conferences in WoSL and EoSL can then be as creative as they need to be, perhaps using various other models from different sports detailed above.

Each of these would mean that in the spell from start of August to end of May teams would play between 35-40 (ish) league games*

*if minor cups took a one year sabbatical

  8. A compromise can often be a good thing, but if it ends up with a less united non-league going forward, different main cups for different teams at the same level, and future problems down the road, that can’t be a good thing. Hopefully whatever agreement is reached, all teams that join the pyramid will be fully integrated.

You can’t surely end up with a ‘less united non-league’ than we currently have
  9. Suspend the season until the start date of next season. Complete the majority of games in August and September to tie up the various issues - pro/rel ( so no need for a mid table team to have to complete ALL 16 remaining games).

Have a brief hiatus (2-3 weeks) to rejig leagues for pro/ rel and start again towards the end of October. Then be creative with the set up of the fixtures for the coming season ( splits etc) to ensure that sorting integrity is kept without teams being asked to fit more than a full season into August to May.

  10. You really DO have a blinkered view of this don't you.
Of course you see the move to EoSL as having been a success for YOUR club and those that moved with it, but try opening your eyes to what was left behind. THAT is where the chaos was and still is and that is what compromise and negotiation in the West can hopefully avoid.

It can. But there are still clubs among the ‘chaos’ who don’t want to join the EoS, as Burnie points out. Burnies point is that clubs should be allowed to choose.

The chaos you’ve referred to is obvious and evident to most of us but there are still clubs that are actively choosing not to join the EoS despite the situation for 2020-21 being much better ( in terms of where you would start) than may have been expected in year 3.

So if clubs right in the heart of the East utopia can still decide that it’s not for them, why can’t teams in the west have the opportunity to do the same?
  11. Na just the usual CSS tactic of 11 men behind the ball at all times and time wasting (sorry game management) from kick off combined with our inability to get the ball over the line. Struggled to break them down, created few chances and didn't take the ones we did.

For what it's worth the ref and linos were horrendous, but in equal measures to both sides.

He booked Currie when it probably should have been a red card so we got away with that, chopped off a winner for CSS that didn't look offside from where I was and generally failed to manage the game, but that's not why the game was lost.

Still plenty of football to be played but Kelty won't lose 2 of their last 6 games.

Sounds like an entertaining 0-0 draw then......
  12. Nah disagree with that Leo. First half BSC bossed it. Second half Kelty were much better and certainly created a few chances but we were looking good until the ref stepped in with a ridiculous penalty decision. He compounded a bad decision by giving Jamie McCormack a second yellow. I can only assume it was for descent as he was definitely going for the ball so double jeopardy should have come into play. In any event that changed the game because after that it was like training exercise of defence v attack with the defence winning that battle. It was the first time I’ve seen Kelty this season and I was really impressed. I think the 2 league games against us are going to have a massive bearing on who wins the league this season as I can’t see Bonnyrigg dropping anything.

Double jeopardy is what would have made it a yellow. Used to be a red but now downgraded if genuine attempt at the ball

  13. I’ve no doubt the meeting on Tuesday will ask clubs to make a decision and pledge support, but why would a club do that (no matter what their individual preferences) until after Thursdays meeting? Absolutely no benefit at all to any club to commit to anything before hearing from both groups.

  14. ...says the man posting on here the same as the rest of us. [emoji23]

Just timed it myself ( as Philip schofield would say) and it took me exactly three seconds to find that reply by clicking on the back arrow and reading 🤷🏻‍♂️. Hardly the sort of task that requires hour after hour of fanatical obsession.
  15. Comical Beenze.   I guess at the alleged extra General Meeting he'll be able to lay out his cunning plan to clubs.
Has he menitoned the fact that Bamford has resigned? That in itself should tell him the way this is headed.  It's time for the clubs to put an end to it.
