    Broxburn?
  2. Lowland Trapdoorwatch 2018-19

Current WW squad round find itself in a relegation battle again imo
  3. Lowland Trapdoorwatch 2018-19

Is this based on a scenario where HL champs get promoted? If so, would the team coming down not replace team 15 with the EoS champ replacing team 16?
  4. EOS Grounds for Optimism

    Paul scholes......
  5. The East Kilbride FC Thread

Selkirk’s disappearance, means it’s a 28 game season this year. BSC only got a possible 15 points available if they win them all. As such, 65 is the magic number for EK.
  6. Linlithgow Rose 18/19

Auld heid obviously took it in the form of jest that was intended. You however sir....
  7. Linlithgow Rose 18/19

And you only managed six? Against ten men...
  8. Where’d the welfare thread go?

IF they stay in that league then they should avoid relegation, provided the budget isn’t actually tied up with players on deals that run longer than the end of this season. A decent manager at that level of football (and there are rumours it may not be little next year as he may move on) with a budget better than at least a third of the league should be able to avoid relegation and may be able to provide the shoots of recovery that encourage investment etc. If they go down it becomes very hard to get back up as there will be teams in the premier operating on far bigger budgets with only one or two places for promotion. Essentially I can see them finishing in a similar place next season regardless of which league they are in.
  9. Where’d the welfare thread go?

Agree youth is the way to go but with the exception of the uni teams, the teams I named above as having a smaller budget don’t even run youth sides. Although that may actually hold welfare back budget wise
  10. Where’d the welfare thread go?

Where do you think welfare sit in the list of 15 teams budget wise? Both unis, edusport (different thing obv), vale, civil, Gretna and Dalbeattie all likely operating on less of a yearly budget. And those teams stretch from 5 points ahead of welfare ( star) to 31 points ahead (civil). And of those sides, only star have remotely been involved in a relegation battle this year. The rest have essentially been safe since the clocks went back.
  11. Where’d the welfare thread go?

I’ve said this before in this thread and I’ll say it again. As far as I can see, it’s not the actual budget that’s the issue- there’ll be about half that league operating with less imo but the way it’s been used. Some horrific players brought in for the money.
  12. Pyramid 2019/2020

I hear what you’re saying and why, I was merely offering an alternative that integrates the juniors into the EoS without them having to start at the bottom. Easy for us to say they should start at the bottom of the EoS, but seems the SFA may not be looking to force that. My suggestion basically was one that I felt could keep both sides of the argument relatively happy- Boundary line dependent
  13. Pyramid 2019/2020

If the boundary line doesn’t change, what would it take for the EoS premier next year to absorb some of the East Superleague teams? Potentially have the top five from each conference (15) minus the champion ( into LL). This leaves 14 teams, add in the top 4 from the Superleague - (below the boundary line) and you’ve an 18 team league for next season. The teams below the premier and the premier from the juniors then create regional leagues below that. Potentially 13/14 team leagues - again for one season. Season 20/21 could then have a 16 team EoS premier, then a first division and then a north and south underneath that. I appreciate that this is another season where some teams are in transition (those in the three regional leagues) but the games would be a lot more competitive than this season with everyone having something to battle for.
  14. Linlithgow Rose 18/19

Did leiper play a lot in the really shite season? Saw him a couple of times that year but no idea whether he missed a lot of it.
  15. Linlithgow Rose 18/19

If the manager sent out a team of players with the wrong attitude then it’s on him. If spurs players weren’t at it attitude wise they’d blame poch. At no point do I say ‘sack Bradley’, I merely point out the manager must take the more of the blame when the team underperforms- even if the fans believe is the players fault ( because he signed/chose them and set them up that way).
